In downtown Herndon is a large building with a dome that can be seen throughout the historic center. It looks like an astrological center, but it's a public library. Named after one of Virginia's oldest women's clubs, the library underwent a major renovation. Today, it's a library and community center for a close-knit neighborhood. Here's why you should go: 1) Books: The collection is very large, especially the children's section. My four-year-old daughter sat for over an hour reading through all sorts of books from Fancy Nancy to the Bernstein Bears to Clifford. If we didn't have dinner reservations nearby, she would have spent hours there. 2) Space: The design is stunning from outside in. When you walk in through the bottom floor, you walk up a spiral staircase up to where the dome is. If you're into photography, use it as an opportunity to snap photos. 3) Amenities: They have plenty of space and wifi, making it a great library to work from. They also sell used books for very cheap on the bottom floor. My daughter found two hardback books for $1 each. If you love a good library, this one is worth the visit!

Another Fairfax library and once again it has the same things you can expect with a Fairfax library: Good: Spectacular architecture and interior Bad: NO PRIVATE STUDY ROOMS! Granted they have a quiet room like the others which is nice and quiet but as you see with my other reviews about libraries, i study better in confinement with myself, my computer, and my textbook. A small town feeling with a metropolitan design. But that's Fairfax county for you!

We frequent this library and absolutely LOVE the staff here. Finding things to do with a toddler can be tough, but their interactive FREE classes make it easy! The little ones have a blast learning, singing, dancing and playing with friends. Their kids reading/book section is awesome. It's filled with books organized by reading level, interactive puzzle games and magnet boards. They have four "kid" sized tables with chairs that the little ones can sit at, and comfy bigger chairs for the adults. Parking is never an issue because the library is right next to a large free parking garage and outdoor lot. Their hours vary day by day but their website is kept up to date with all th

Librarians are quite helpful. The library is small but they help you make a request for books not available

AMBIANCE Reston Regional Library is one of the quieter…read morebranches in Fairfax County. As only regional branches are open on Sundays, I decided to visit to to complete some studying. There's two rows of public use computers right as you enter the front doors, and ample tables for reading/working. Being a regional branch as well, they also offer more book options and resources for residents. Although located across a police station, I was surprised to see such a heavy presence of officers in the library (right as you enter and making rounds about the library itself). BATHROOMS The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, and when I visited, men entered the women's bathroom to use as well. PARKING There is ample parking available in the lot, and there's never a lack of spaces. It can get littered (we saw a couple condoms scattered about the lot).

Love their kids room here! Tons of books, puzzles, magnet boards, and games for the little ones…read more They also offer free classes for kids that you have to pre-register for online. The classes are great, but some of the librarians take their role as facilitator of the class too seriously; they're more like dictator of the class. I get needing structure and rules, but it becomes a problem when you can't even hold the kids attention because you're spending 5 minutes going over "rules" that can be summed up into "sit on your bottom and put on your listening ears.

This library is beautiful!…read more The sections are well laid out and there is so much to do! There's a toddler section with a bunch of bird books and wooden activity boards next to the kids section with a plenty of seating and bright inviting colors. There is a computer section with at least 10 computers designed and loaded just for kids to use. They have a whole activity schedule for children that they release on a monthly basis that include puppet shows, story-time, arts and crafts, and even bringing your stuffed animal to sleep at the library overnight. I can't wait to bring my son here more often! Then the adult section is expansive with lots of book voices but also computer areas, private rooms, and even conference rooms that can be reserved. While walking around, I poked my head in a creation room with at least three 3-D printers that look to be free to use!! This library is extremely impressive with its modern decor, wide and open spaces, and ease of joining. You can even use your library card for audio books or to download e-books! I'm soooo glad I'm a Loudoun resident. :)

Since I was carrying my daughter it was a bit frustrating that the wave to open doors weren't working and the elevator to the second floor was being repaired but there were ample bathrooms and even an infant care/nursing room. The baby storytime was fun and I appreciated the casual open playtime afterwards especially since I got there a little late. Overall the librarian and other participants were friendly and respectful. Looking forward to attending more library events with my little one!
