Quite a few of them are dated. Sure you'll find plenty of newspapers, but sadly not much good writing in them anymore. Staff here is friendly and helpful. Families with little ones will love the children's section. This is a pleasant community library. There are meeting rooms and events also.

The reservation system, which is Fairfax county-wide, is easy to use and the books come quickly. Parking is plentiful, with the exception of during the book sale. Since I've mentioned it a couple of times, the book sale is the highlight of this library. Held in April and November, make sure you come the first day, usually a Thursday, to take full advantage of the kids room. All paperback books are 50 cents! I bought about 20 children's books in good condition for $15.00. The hardback books were around $1.00 each. Even if you live a bit further than I do, I still highly recommend stoping by during the sale, particularly if you're searching for board ,toddler, and early reader books.

This was my first time visiting the campus, and it was absolutely beautiful. The windows on the floors are floor to ceiling and offer great scenery of the greenery on campus. The second floor is for collaboration, and the third floor is for quiet study. Group study rooms during the summertime are often empty but are only reservable by students/faculty. WI-FI Wi-fi (MASON for guests) is free upon creation of an account. Your account expires every two weeks, so if you visit often as a guest, it might be tedious to keep creating/renewing accounts. BATHROOMS The bathrooms are very clean and tidy with multiple locations on each floor. PARKING Parking garages on campus are $5/hr, so if you're an outsider visiting to study, it can get quite pricy. Bus routes are also available around campus to the rest of the county.

This library is a grand two levels and is open on Sundays which makes this a great way to spend a rainy day weekend. The librarians are SO friendly and their selection of new children's books and graphic novels is vast. My family and I are avid bookstore goers and library visitors but for some reason we always find new things to read here. They have several study rooms and conference rooms available. We had a Girl Scout meeting that involved a bunch of printing and research needs -- their online reservation system made it so easy to book. It's prime Fairfax City location makes this a great place to run a bunch of errands at once. I recommend grabbing a book and reading at the Layered cafe next door for the ultimate cozy day treat.

They have a few computer stations, and I didn't check to see if they have a study area. I signed up for a new library card here. Process was rather involved and required logging in to a computer to answer a brief-ish survey on closest library etc. as well as furnishing a photo of a temporary passcode. Yeah, the applicant process is a bit convoluted. I had the time to burn so I didn't mind overmuch though. Overall, cool spot and library. I will hopefully visit here at least once more, to get the full scope of things.

Librarians here have always been helpful. There's also a self-checkout station if you happen to be embarrassed by the contemporary romance novels you occasionally borrow like me. There's a small for-sale section with vintage and used books at the front. There are also fliers advertising activities for all ages, though I have never attended one. This library does keep odd hours, so I'd check before heading out. There is also often a cop seated at the entryway, which I guess is for security concerns? Overall, this location isn't much different than others, and doesn't provide any special features that I am aware of, but libraries are great and are certainly worthy of our taxpayer dollars!

The sale was almost over when I got there but I found some good books: an Egyptian illustrated book on hieroglyphics, a blank notebook made in England, and a vintage book on birds. She was excited, but also very nervous, but I thought it was a great opportunity for her and a way out of her comfort zone. The advisers and faculty were amazing. Everything was very organized and they kept us parents very well informed. I was very impressed. The dorm she was in was honestly so cool! Was thankful they let us check out the campus a little bit before we said goodbye for 6 days. For being as nervous as she was leading up to the event, she ended up having the best time. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and now has some pretty cool opportunities potentially waiting for her! Thank you so much, WYSE and George Mason University for such a great program!

First time at George Mason University. We went to the NAIA Spring Powwow in Dewberry Hall at the…read moreJohnson Center. The Center was clean, and it was easy to find the pow wow. Parking at the garage nearby was convenient. We parked there for 6-7 hours and were charged $10 for parking there. The food court on the first floor was nice and had a lot of food options. Lots of restroom locations in the building. The powwow was on the ground floor. It was the most comfortable venue I experienced for a powwow. The Native American & Indigenous Alliance provided free meals and bottles of water during the powwow. Admission was free. They also gave free offerings of Native American Indian post cards. The music and performances at the powwow were very entertaining. I loved the camaraderie between the performers and spectators. The outdoor campus is beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed our visit to George Mason University very much.
