This library is a grand two levels and is open on Sundays which makes this a great way to spend a rainy day weekend. The librarians are SO friendly and their selection of new children's books and graphic novels is vast. My family and I are avid bookstore goers and library visitors but for some reason we always find new things to read here. They have several study rooms and conference rooms available. We had a Girl Scout meeting that involved a bunch of printing and research needs -- their online reservation system made it so easy to book. It's prime Fairfax City location makes this a great place to run a bunch of errands at once. I recommend grabbing a book and reading at the Layered cafe next door for the ultimate cozy day treat.

On rainy days we like to grab coffee from a local coffee shop and play in the children's area. They have several different toys for in-house loan like legos, kitchen accessories, bricks, blocks, and cars. Even though my kids have the exact same toys at home, they can play quietly for hours here. I think they enjoy sharing with different kids and the new atmosphere. The patrons are friendly and their new book selection is on point! I am always able to pick up a few books off my wishlist whenever I visit. I am so glad this place exists!

But even without students it seems to be a well loved library- it's not overly packed but it is busy during the day. It seems to have a diverse group of ethnicities that come through seeing how they offer one-on-one tutoring and multiple books in different languages. Is a good library. The reservation system, which is Fairfax county-wide, is easy to use and the books come quickly. Parking is plentiful, with the exception of during the book sale. Since I've mentioned it a couple of times, the book sale is the highlight of this library. Held in April and November, make sure you come the first day, usually a Thursday, to take full advantage of the kids room. All paperback books are 50 cents! I bought about 20 children's books in good condition for $15.00. The hardback books were around $1.00 each. Even if you live a bit further than I do, I still highly recommend stoping by during the sale, particularly if you're searching for board ,toddler, and early reader books.

This is the closest public library near me and the most exciting library I have encountered in this area.

Our holds are always ready to go in a timely manner. They have great displays and lots of activities for little kids. They always have a scavenger hunt and a directed drawing station. One floor only, and about the same size of the Ashburn Library, which I think is also cool. Nice design and layout. They have a few computer stations, and I didn't check to see if they have a study area. I signed up for a new library card here. Process was rather involved and required logging in to a computer to answer a brief-ish survey on closest library etc. as well as furnishing a photo of a temporary passcode. Yeah, the applicant process is a bit convoluted. I had the time to burn so I didn't mind overmuch though. Overall, cool spot and library. I will hopefully visit here at least once more, to get the full scope of things.

Librarians here have always been helpful. There's also a self-checkout station if you happen to be embarrassed by the contemporary romance novels you occasionally borrow like me. There's a small for-sale section with vintage and used books at the front. There are also fliers advertising activities for all ages, though I have never attended one. This library does keep odd hours, so I'd check before heading out. There is also often a cop seated at the entryway, which I guess is for security concerns? Overall, this location isn't much different than others, and doesn't provide any special features that I am aware of, but libraries are great and are certainly worthy of our taxpayer dollars!
