The rooms are available on a first come first serve basis where you can work distraction free for up to two hours if there's a line. In the middle of summer I get to go to this library wearing my favorite hoodies. I say this with no complaints; I breathe better and think clearer when there's air. Outside of that it's your regular library with the standard amenities. Ample computers, tables, outlets, newspapers, etc.

After 45 years of service, the Patrick Henry Library was recently closed for renovations and has…read moretemporarily moved to a satellite site in Cedar Park Shopping Center. The new site is about the size of a 7-11, but it still serves a much needed spot in the community. If you are not browsing, I recommend reserving your books online in advance and have them delivered there for pickup. It is nice place to grab your next read and grab ice cream at Toby's next door! Can't wait for the new location to open up.

Living in Ballenger Creek, it's actually more convenient for me to go online and have books transferred here for an easy pick up instead of going to the downtown branch and struggling with parking. They hold a fair amount of events as well, such as story times and holiday crafts for kids. The kids area is pretty well stocked for limited space. There's a small, ok tiny, play area but the puzzles and two iPads should keep the little ones occupied for a bit. There is only one computer for patron use but there's rarely a delay in waiting for it. IMPORTANT: check hours before visiting! They are open Monday-Wednesday and Saturday only, with only afternoon/evening hours on Wednesday.

It caught my attention the last time I was visiting Purceville. We stopped by to return some materials and for a quick study session. It is quiet and spacious inside. There are of course plenty of books, DVDs and Audio books, there was a table of western movies and books, maybe Yellowstone has something to do with it. There was a specious room for reading, studying or computer work. I love their puzzle table. They have a puzzle started for anyone who wants to work on it. This library has large windows to allow plenty of sunlight to come through. The children's area has some large legos to play with, it has an adorable Pete The Cat rug in it, and of course excellent books for kids of all ages and interests. Their staff is pleasant and welcoming. This is a beautiful library in a beautiful town, Purceville VA.

One problem I've been experiencing frequently is that almost 50% of the time when I'm returning more than 5 books to the counter, at least 1 book will get marked as not returned even though I did return it. It's just a bit inconvenient to have to call the library to report that. they ll do a search and have always fount it eventually. The only other library I normally go to is central and this has only happened once at central.

Nostalgia review here: I used to come here on Wednesdays in the late '80s for story hour and…read morecrafts. I brought home many a craft, including a bubble blower made of a Styrofoam cup, washcloth, rubber band, straw and Palmolive. My little brother drank it by accident. Thank goodness he didn't eat the construction paper pig I made! We also had summer reading challenges on which we dutifully recorded the books we read on a poster and turned the poster in at the end of the summer for Pizza Hut coupons. Now, my favorite haunt is the Central Library when I'm back to visit...it's more spacious, has more parking and has more resources, but Cherrydale always holds a special place in my heart.
