There food is bad flat out the worst place in wrightwood to eat at the dishwashers dont even clean

I love this place, especially that the waitresses are nice, but they aren't strict on their covid policies. When I walked in, people were not wearing masks, and they were dining indoors. Why am I in Wrightwood??? Where is this place??? This place is awesome!!! After hiking we were starving and we end up having our late breakfast here so i decided to get a chicken fried steak with a side of hash and pancake and a bowl of chili. Yes this man is hungry!!! After 5 minutes i got my bowl of chili and it was fantastic most of my friends got to try it too and everyone liked it. For 4.99 the serving was big!!! Few minutes later the server came out with two plates with here one for the pancake and the other for the chicken fried steak. Oh man it was HUUUUGE!!!! I feel like having my last meal on earth. It feels like this will be my meal for 3 days. And every bit of it was great. That's it. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND I WILL GO HERE IF I HIKE IN THE AREA AGAIN! YOU GUYS MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!! read more

We stopped here to grab a quick bite to eat before our hike. I had absolutely no expectations... and I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved this cafe. The whole place was decorated for Christmas with hundreds of fun ornaments hanging from the ceiling. I was more impressed with the atmosphere than the service. However, the food was really tasty. I had a breakfast burrito, nothing fancy. But they listened and prepared it exactly the way I asked for. From the sound of it, they decorate for all the holidays. So if you happen to be in town I would say its worth a visit. read more

As always, the decor was over the top and festive according to the season. There was no wait for us, which was nice. The Club sandwich was big enough for two of us to share. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries, and they were amazing. My mom had the chicken tortilla soup and said it was very good. Best of all, the service we received was super friendly. After our day of snowboarding, we Yelped and found this place. Loved the place as soon as i walked in. Loved the decor. Little lights and old decor all over the place. Place is pretty small. The day we came, we were the second table in there so the service was inpeccable. We ordered: The special: Open face roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes and veggies.. Everything was delicious. $6.99 I ordered, the bigfoot special, which was a humungous chicken fried steak, 3 eggs, hashbrowns, and i ordered the biscuits and gravy. OMG...delicious. Cant complain about anything. Even the coffee was good. $9.99, plus coffee.. Overall a great experience. Would definitely come back next time im in the area. Bf and I stopped here on a Saturday. This was one of the few options before noon. It's a small restaurant with a wait for bigger parties. We sat at the counter and ordered the buffalo chicken salad for about $9. The salad was very basic with several chicken pieces. But the chicken seemed freshly prepared. It was moist. My first experience at Evergreen Cafe was pleasant. The service was good and the food was ok. (Didn't have high expectations since it is a small town) It did take a while to order but I didn't mind since it was busy. My 2nd visit however, has got to be the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. I believe Karen was our waitress (sourced from the receipt). She was rude, forgot to ask my two friends what they were ordering and had some attitude once we kindly asked to take their order. There's plenty to say about our experience. I'll for sure not be coming back and I have asked my friends to write a review as well. They surely don't deserve 4 stars not even 3 to say the least. What disappoints me more is I brought 5 friends after a hike, eager to show them the aesthetically pleasing small town restaurant but was fooled into a bitter almost prejudice experience. read more

The food was awesome! The burger was perfection, the chicken fried steak was exceptional and the bacon was just about the best I have ever had at a restaurant. The most unexpected item was the cocktails. I was hesitant to order one and was just going to go with a beer. I am sure glad I went with a cocktail. We had a Cosmopolitan and a Margarita. Both were high-end restaurant quality drinks. This restaurant will definitely become our regular stop when we visit Wrightwood. read more

Went here with 7 other friends for a birthday dinner. I was extremely hungry since I had only eaten an egg for breakfast and looked forward to this meal. Placed my order first and somehow everyone got their meals before I did and they finished eating. I asked the server for a to-go box just in case my food came. I noticed that other tables were getting their plates before I was. After 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting, I finally got my patty melt and onion rings, but at that point I wasn't hungry anymore. My friends had to ask them to remove the item off the list, but received half-off since I ate a couple onion rings. Also noticed the staff being rude to a Latino family that was trying to get a table a few minutes before closing. She was being snarky, telling them how she's updated all the hours on google and Yelp and they should have checked, but somehow saw other white families being seated before closing... read more

Woke up in wrightwood, where the boyfriend has a cabin and we decided to go down the road and come here. He's been here before and said the food was good, however I didn't. I order the simplest thing you can get from any small breakfast joint, 2 eggs, country potatoes and toast. Eggs tasted like there was no butter in them. The potatoes had onions and bell peppers in them, however they lacked flavor. My boyfriend order hash browns with his meal and they brought him the country potatoes instead, not a big deal but cmon pay attn. Anyways, I would of gave them three stars if there food tasted better, but if I ever come back I'm not gonna order the simplest thing on the menu. read more

Everyone in Wrightwood will steer you to The Evergreen. And they should. Great little location on the corner. They serve basically good old American food and a good cup of coffee with a smile. Sometimes the outside tables are open if the weather permits and you can keep your eye on on the comings and goings of people in the little surrounding shops and businesses. Never forget that Wrightwood was the playground and sometimes home for such luminaries as Aldous Huxley, Igor Stavinsky and J. Krishnamurti. What a party that must have been when they bumped into each other. I can almost feel their very presence when I walk and drive the streets of Wrightwood. Did they ever eat at The Evergreen? I don't know. But if they did they probably had the fluffy omelettes and other great breakfast faire (maybe not Krishnamurti who most likely was a vegetarian. I like to think he at least had some tea). Locals come here and there are no pretensions. Great place to pick up local gossip because it's so intimate and cozy! I brought my adult male friend and teenage son, both of whom had not eaten a bite all day. I had lunch earlier, so I wasn't hungry. Until...., After a full day of skiing, we pulled to Evergreen cafe. I enjoy the servers there especially Lucas. However there are a number of items on the menu that are not homemade. The gravy for biscuits and gravy. Hash on the morning menu. Chili I love chicken tortilla soup. Lucas brought me out a sample of it and it was delicious. However the consistency was that of chili. Lucas gave me a side cup of it at no charge.
