The food was fantastic, a lot of Indian restaurants can make very bland, predictable food. Not the Spice Guru however. The different flavours and spices in each dish were very noticeable and you can tell the chefs there put their own twist on dishes giving each dish originality. Not too pricey and a great evening, the only slight problem was that there was not much wine left, but it was New Year's Day when I dined there. All in all a good restaurant with good food and I shall be visiting again.

Most disconcerting however was the supernatural green of the king prawn caldine, clearly imparted by green food coloring. The result was that the prawn themselves had phosphorescent green color that was not at all appealing. I don't know if the restaurant ran out of green curry paste or coriander or why they felt obligated to put so much artificial coloring in the dish, but it definitely detracted from my enjoyment of the meal.

The starter of a lamb and vegetable broth was light, yet flavoursome, and an excellent appetiser. So it was disappointing that my curry main course was just so bland. I was really hoping for something very different to the usual curries, but I could easily have imagined getting something similar from an Indian takeaway. My wife's noodle dish was reminiscent of chicken chow mein you'd get from the Chinese takeaway. Having never eaten Nepalese cuisine before, I can't tell if it was just bad luck or if they've blanded everything down for the local Reigate crowd. A real shame.
