Even though they're part of a massive chain, I've found that there can be HUGE differences between Toby Carverys. Luckily, our local one was one of the better examples of them, with consistent quality of food and service. It was always better when it was a bit busy as the food was always fresh and steaming hot. When it was slow, the meat could be a bit dry and veg a bit overcooked from sitting under the heat lamps. But even at its busiest times, the queue went very quickly, so don't let it being busy put you off. This was a very family-friendly place to go, as there was always a highchair available (although they could do with bein kept cleaner), and the layout of the place, along with the general hum of other customers meant you rarely overheard the other tables or felt as if your noisy toddlers were bothering anyone.
Toby Carverys aren't going to set the world on fire, but this one will certainly provide you a good, solid, hearty meal at a ridiculously low price. You know what to expect, and you can count on this branch to deliver. read more
