Surprisingly wonderful! I was not very eager to go there, having a long-time favorite back were I come from. But, it was very close to our hotel, and had some good reviews, so I agreed to try it. The staff were a little quiet/shy, but polite and smiling, We had the Buttered Nan and the Sweet Nan with honey with our Lamb Korma, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala. Being kind of food geeks that never finish our plates and always complain that we can make the dish just as well ourselves, we ate every bit down to the last drop of the delicious sauces. It was almost embarrassing when the waiter came to take the already "cleaned" dishes.. Some have wished for larger portions. Maybe they have increased them? Sometimes I wonder how some restaurants get so high reviews. Either people review with nothing really to compare to or I guess it just was a bad day for them.... The prices appeared to be average, but the portions are smaller. The naan bread was a bit burnt. The lassi's were fine, but they increased the price on the bill an extra $1 each. I pointed it out and they claimed it was the new price and changed it back. The service was not great. There were only two tables of customers and the server kept disappearing. It could be due to maybe only that server and a single "cook" running the place over the weekend. The food tasted fine, but the rice was dry, probably was left over from lunch. Everything else seemed to not be fresh. Like pre-done frozen goods, only heated up to serve. The kids meal was also small. Like a 20 / 80 split. 2 little peices of chicken and 80% deep fried oilly waffle fries. All the appraisers seem pricey. The "bison" dumplings (gyoza), came 10 normal sized for $11.99.... Needless to say, I will not be returning. I think the Bombay House is much better and worth the drive! read more

Went here before a Saturday night RSL game. Food was good although portions were slightly on the smaller side. We got the tandoori chicken wings for an appetizer and everyone liked them. For entrees we got saag paneer, chicken coconut korma, bhangan bartha (eggplant dish), lamb biryani, chicken vindaloo and for sides we got butter naan and aloo paratha. They were well received mostly. One thought that the coconut korma was a bit too "coconutty" and there was some lamb biryani left but those were minor gripes. The reason why this place gets 3 stars is because we arrived at 6:20 and didn't get our entrees until 7:40 which was only 20 min before the game started. There were only about 10 other people in the restaurant when we arrived and it appeared that everybody had to wait an exorbitantly long time for their food including take out customers who cancelled their orders in the end. We had to ask for water glasses because they didn't bring enough, same for straws and when we asked where our food was at 7:20, the waitress just gave us a weird look and disappeared. No reply at all and never came back to explain. Just glad they didn't add an automatic 18% tip onto our order for a larger than 6 group which would have made us even later for the game fighting the tip. read more

It might take some effort to make food that bad. We went at buffet hours, but ordered through the menu. We ordered soups (chicken and vegetarian), "baingan bharta", "chicken appetizer", and "coconut curry fish". The food was quite bland. They compensated for the lack of flavor, by making it excessive hot or creamy. Unfortunately, they brought the fish curry with shrimp. We found the food hard on our palate. Might have been easier to jus follow the recipe of the dishes they seem to serve than make their own version. Money down the drain. I do want to mention that they tried somewhat hard to not ruin the experience and I give them credit for it. If you end up going here, just stick to the buffet, at least it's value for money. read more

This place was fantastic. My dad and I went here for dinner last night and it was one of the best, if not the best, Indian meal either of us has ever had. The food here was more 3.25 stars and the service was 4.5. I'm also used to really, really good Indian food in the west coast so my standards are quite high. Garlic Naan - good, but very, very buttery (too much for my taste) Tandoori Roti - texture was great, however, the roti was sweet which was odd for us as we've never had sweet roti Paneer masala - sauce was nice and sweet, but the paneer texture was thick, not bad, just thicker than I've ever had before and it takes you by surprise as paneer is typically soft, but this one was not (not hard, just not soft). My husband liked it though, but me not being a big fan of cheese in general I'm more picky about that. Aloo Tama Bodi - I liked this dish, it was very different and well made, the spices were a good blend and had a kick unlike the other dishes. My husband didn't like the bamboo, but I did. Asparagus Aloo - my husband liked this best, I thought it was decent, nothing too special but definitely a unique dish. Overall a good meal and rice comes with each dish so bonus, however, I do caution that their spice level is not very high. We ordered everything medium and all the dishes were barely spicy. If you like spicy, make sure you order it such and let them know you want it spicy, otherwise you'll get weak spicy and nobody likes that! read more

I love this restaurant, and it's my favorite Indian food eatery in SLC! I've been to India House, Bombay House, and several others. Everest CK knows me by name and how I like my food prepared. They do whatever it takes to accommodate me. I love the flavors of their food and authentic beverages. My favorite sides are their pulau rice, garlic naan bread, garlic cheese naan, and sweet naan.
