SCAMMERS. EverDry Waterproofing charged me over 20k to get my basement done, not even 24 hours later they FLOODED my basement due to negligent construction. They price gouged me. They didn't even put the purple pipe sealant on the pipes correctly, didn't sand the concrete, caused a fire hazard with electrical cords dangling over the spewing water from pipes, and didn't fix the step down crack. I had to beg them to comeback to fix it. They did a crappy job fixing it and didn't even fix everything. I could've hired someone from Craigslist and they would've done a better job. Reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They didn't even offer to compensate for the damages to my warped sink, damaged walls, damaged clothes and gas generator the water damage destroyed due to their negligence. STAY FAR AWAY. I would give zero stars if i could! We had to contact the better business bureau to get anywhere with this company. They do work, then have to come back to redo it, multiple times. Half the time the workers don't know all the work they have to do. Severe lack of communication within the company. First they send out a salesman that lies to you about the work to be done. He is not part of the work, just a salesman. He gives a quote for a project,and after you sign the financial agreement, they say, "we actually cant do it exactly that way," and do less, cheaper work for the same price you already agreed to. They dig up around the house and tear up cement. They disconnect gas appliances and move drain pipes and then they say it is not their responsibility. Holy cow!! Thank goodness we caught on really quick about this company. Shame on me I should have checked Yelp for reviews and saved some time. Just finished reading reviews and feel so much much better. Agreed this company is run by bullies. Salesperson, Dylan, came Friday and did his review of the basement inside and out. We sat down and he insisted on going thru his sales pitch. Finally got to the bottom line and the quote was 7k higher than the one we had received earlier in the day. Our complaints with Dylan was that he was not interested and did not want to listen to what we wanted. He had an agenda and that was it. When we did not like the price and indicated that we could get the same job done for less, he became not quite so friendly. He told us....well if you want to work with a company that hasn't been in business as long as we have and get less quality then go for it. He insinuated that we were being foolish, silly and making the wrong decision. He left our house angry. So we thought we were done with this company. NOPE. This morning a gal called and said that a senior person reviewed the pictures of our basement and felt he could offer a better price. He wanted to come to our home. I said no thank you. We were not happy with Dylan. Thought he was unprofessional and rude. This office person says to me....you cannot judge a company on the behavior of one person. Excuse me, but yes we can and we have. We also understand that Dylan was only doing what he was instructed to do. Not professional. We thought we were done. NOPE This afternoon a person, John, from customer service called and he wanted to ask questions about our experience with Dylan. We told him and before you know it...dial an argument. There again, I am sure that John would disagree but he had a bit of an edge. As long as you are on the same page as this company and suck up the price and you don't complain you will be just fine. I scheduled a free basement inspection with Everdry. They called the day before to confirm and asked if my partner would be there. I said no, he'll be working. They said they required significant others to be present. I said I will tell him what I learn. The woman kept insisting my partner take time off to be there or 'we should reschedule.' I told her we aren't legally married so she can just think of me as a single woman able to handle the inspection myself. She said 'well can you please ask him to be there?' He and I had a good laugh about the misogyny and pushy sales tactics and he did take off work to be there because I felt pretty wary of the company by then. Well, we were both home and waiting and they never showed. I called to check in and the woman claimed she 'tried calling' this morning to reschedule. But she didn't leave a voicemail so I had no idea. Needless to say, we figured we should check out reviews of this shady company and the reviews have confirmed we aren't the only ones with a bad experience. Close call. Everydry performed unrequested maintenance on my sump pump and because the replacement pump was installed incorrectly it ran my water bill up $2000 from excessive usage. They came and corrected their mistake 8 months later, but refused to reimburse me. We had just had our first child at the time and my wife had to take unpaid time from work. It was the worst time for something like this to happened to us and Everdry made it as hard as they could throughout the entire experience. 6 months of back and forth with them and their insurance company as they tried to get me to go away made it so now I have no choice but to take them to small claims court. I agree with everyone else that the sales were aggressive but we reached our breaking point cleaning up the basement and watching the mold spread. We decided to get the system specifically after returning from vacation and instantly getting sinus infections in January. So one of the follow up sales pitches and the price having been reduced three times, (we had estimates by them twice before and a few others), we jumped on the package that had drip wall and sump pump installation, the outside partially dug and the ventillation, as we have animals. We wait to right before the contract window closes, and I get antsy and start calling. (I massively suck at remembering names, ps.) The receptionist was awesome and helpful. They showed up right on time, and worked with me as I have a garden surrounding the house. The guys were super courteous and made sure I got to see each step as they went. I was able to have the old crappy drainage excuse leveled today and now have a flat(ter) floor for the first time since owning the house. They got the whole job done in a day and a half and that included rain. I look forward to a dry basement . My only suggestion is more notice/updates about the start date. Also for the price, it would be nice if it included cleaning the mold on the walls and fresh paint so it was finished 100%. read more

An employee came over from Everdry to do an assessment on one leaky basement wall that was in need of repair.  The man was wearing a neck brace.  He told us that we needed our entire basement waterproofed following a series of "tests" were he measured air quality and mold in the basement.  He went on and on about how dangerously high the level of mold was in our home and listed a plethora of diseases and health conditions that could result if this issue was not fixed.  He went down to the basement with my husband to show him other areas of concern and asked "Aren't you going to ask me about me neck brace?"  Seriously!? He then went over options for repairs with us and recommended an overpriced overkill job for waterproofing our entire basement. I told him I would have to talk it over with my husband and my brother.  He then said, "If you are not considering getting these repairs done I'm afraid I have done a very poor job of explaining the severity of the problem to you."  I told him I didn't have $20,000 in my back pocket and needed more time.  He then suggested I take a loan out against my 401K.  I told him I still needed time.  Everdry repeatedly called me for months following this assessment telling me they had gotten an overabundance of supplies and would like to come to the home to do a reassessment of the basement and offer us a discount price.  I asked them repeatedly to stop calling me.  After the umpteenth call I had lost my patience and told "I have asked you every time you call to stop calling me, what are you not understanding."  So yeah I'm not sure what their product is like but the way they do business is horrid. read more

They will come out give you a quote with a ton of extra items that your home does not need while making it seem like your home will collapse at any minute. It's all just a tactic to make you commit on the spot. They start of at a ridiculously high price, when you say no, they try to make you feel special and offer you a discount if you sign right then and there. When you say no they will call you a few days later and try to tell you they found something else that will actually make the estimate even less and will try to come to your house again (which they will be late to the appointment again) because they just want to try to intimidate you in person to get you to sign right there and then. When you say no yet again they will up the intimidation factor a bit more....just a bunch of con artists. Save your time, money, and the frustration of letting this company even have your phone number cause they will call ALL THE TIME and find someone else! read more

First review couldn't be more on point. My wife and I attended a home and garden show at the NYS fairgrounds. We set up an appointment and they seemed very laid back, told us they'd only need about 30 minutes. The day of, they call saying their driver is going to be about an hour late. Forty minutes later they call saying he can't make it and they need to reschedule. Well if your in Rochester and I'm in Syracuse, that tells me he never left. With positive intent, we agree to reschedule. The following week. Surprise surprise, we get a phone call that he's going to be 45 minutes late. 45 minutes go by, so I call and ask what's up and the dude who answered was so unbelievably rude. Last time I heard someone speak like that was myself when I was 14 and thought I was cool. Anyways he says the dude will show up any moment he just got off the phone with him .... 40 minutes later he shows up. Just as the guy mentioned above, we go to the basement and the drama begins. Building his case that your basement is going to collapse. Using his little tool to scrape paint off our walls. Smacking his hammer around like an animals while grunting oh man and shaking his head. Quite entertaining actually. TWO HOURS later, he's still at our house after flipping through a binder of BS that any logical person can see right through. He finally stops just blabbering and finally says "can I talk to you about our warranty" That's when I ended it and pointed to my kitchen counter and said "no, our dinner has been sitting on the counter for almost three hours now, my wife and I are all set now" His response HAHA " so what do we want to do about the down payment" If I can't trust you to show up on time two weeks in a row. There's no way I'm trusting you with my money to do a job right. The following week my wife got a phone call 2-3X/ DAY !!! I finally picked up her phone (they used this method the whole time they were here, if they didn't like my answer they'd start trying to sweet talk my wife over), they told me they had jobs in the area and could lower the price but ONLY if I let the chief inspector come to my house and offer the lower price. They're not allowed to say it over the phone. After repeatedly denying I had no choice but to hang up. Insanely pushy, insanely overpriced, will absolutely try to take advantage of you if you don't know anything about basements. I intentionally keep myself reserved to see how someone's going to speak to me. They don't know what you know so this approach helped me really understand just how poor this company values customers. read more

PUSHY PUSHY PUSHY! So annoying, don't even bother having them estimate a job they will keep calling you even years after the job has been done by some one else. I rant a bit below, TLDR version - Dont use them they will try and rip you off. Go with Franks or Utech or anyone else. Also make sure to check the better business bureau. From what i recall they had a number of complaints filed against them. I had a somewhat leaky basement, it only leaked after really heavy rain or large snow melt. I needed drain tile and a sump pump installed, i also had a vapor barrier installed around the perimeter because i am finishing the basement. I had three companies come out and estimate the job. Two local (non-franchise, everdry is a franchise i believe) companies and everdry come out. Franks and Utech came out and gave me an estimate for the work that needed to be done, they were friendly informative and honest (I ended up going with Franks, Utech didn't seem bad though). Everdry came out they were there for almost 3 hours pointing out every little crack and chip in the foundation, after the walk through they sat down and tried to hard sell me on the work. The way the salesman spoke you would think that my house was about to fall down (its not, and both franks and utech said that the basement was actually in good shape other than needing the drain tile). On top of the hyperbole, this guy was try to sell me on a vent fan for the basement. This isnt a terrible idea, however he didn't know the specifications, details or functionality of the fan to the point where when asked he didn't even realize that it would create a negative pressure situation in the house, and didnt even seem to understand the simple concept that pulling air out meant that there had to be air pulled in from somewhere with out an air return it would make the whole house drafty. On top of all that they were way higher priced than either of the companies who didn't seem like they were trying to rip me off. About 6 months later they called and insisted on coming back out to re-estimate the job, its done and i am happy with the work franks has done. Even after telling them every time on the phone i am not interested and the job is done they keep calling. A year and a 1/2 later i am still getting phone calls from them every few months. One time they had the audacity to ask for a reference, on work they hadn't even won the job for! read more

They did not secure a 35feet of waste line to the basement wall and on September 30 the waste pipe came crashing down. A plumber was called and charged $922 to reinstall the waste line. The work was very professional and with the installation of the sump pump I have not had a water problem again. Everdry Rochester doesn't tell you that your yard will be torn up and that they won't reimburse you for the cost of your ruined plants/flowers. I also experienced water in my basement for the first time AFTER Everdry installed their system. This has happened numerous times. It is almost impossible to talk to anyone besides a secretary. Everyone who might be able to help is "in a meeting" or "in the field." In my most recent flooding episode caused by their water management system, it took 6 hours before a "worker" came to address our problem. I called the company to see what happen and rescheduled. I thought I'll give them another chance. Again a representative from Everdry never followed up. I called the company again to see if my appointment was still scheduled. It had been cancelled because 'they could not get in contact with me'. (The representative from Everdry never bothered to leave a voice mail and I have no unrecognizable phone numbers for the day(s) in question.) This Company is pure Evil! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! They are rude, ignore phone calls and emails, and they will yell at you (yes yell at you) after you fork over thousands of dollars. Had water come in my basement, hired Everdry paid over $10,000 to have them fix it. They did. A year later water started coming back in my basement. Since I have a Warranty I pay for every year I call them up to fix it. Long story short they lied to me, made appointments they never kept, and stood us up numerous times when I took time off from work to meet with them. Marcus and Joel are the 2 most incompetent people I have ever dealt with in my life. Not to mention they are flat out LIARS and COWARDS who when confronted on their lies run and avoid phone calls! Joel created a work order and when the workers came out to do the work they couldn't understand it so they called from my house, on my phone back to Joel to clear it up and Joel wouldn't talk to us. He told the workers to just patch it and leave when the fix was far more extensive (as Joel said when he visited my location and wrote on the work order.) It gets better when I asked to speak to Joel on the phone he told the workers not to put me (the paying customer) on the phone with him he wouldn't speak to me. Oh and the "crew" of workers he sent were 2 guys who had no tools. That's right, no tape measure, no shovel,...nothing. They had to use my tools to fix this issue. Let's get to the other piece of work Marcus. Another liar. When he never returned our calls (he had my home, cell, and a family members phone on file) he called and yelled at me, yes he yelled at the customer and said we called you never answered. My family member works at Verizon, he pulled the call logs for all three phone numbers, and he never called once. They lied!!! Then he yells at me saying I am not showing him respect on the phone and he lectured me about "phone etiquette" this after he has yelled at me on every phone call for weeks. To sum up, as I could go on all day. They "fixed" the issue by the grace of god or just dumb luck. I submitted the Verizon phone logs, and typed up a Summary to my lawyer. and it is with my lawyer in Onondaga County and "IF" I ever get water in my basement again the first call is to the lawyer, they will contact Everdry and notify them they have 72 hours to fix the issue with professionals who have their own tools (can't believe I had to specify that) or else they are being sued and the papers will be filed within 72. It's just that simple. Hate to have to be "that guy" who ties up the legal system but after that horrible go around with this company it's the only way. I had work done by Everdry waterproofing months ago, after having salesman come out to give a recommendation, they quote you a high price, you say No and they lower the price, I Was having problems with water coming through basement walls and affecting foundation And floor was cracked in places, so the salesmen tell me a bunch of things that need to be done, even though I felt weird about the different prices they quoted, I agreed to do water Proofing on inside and out and working on pipes underground , and a week later I changed My mind and told them I wasn't comfortable about the price for the work $12,000, I had already signed a contract so they refused to let me out of it and told me if I wanted out I Would have to pay 1/3 of the total price, and since I didn't want to pay 3-4 thousand for Nothing, I went along with it, bad choice that was, the basement walls still damp and chipping, basement floor wet in places, wasn't wet before the work, was just cracking And walls are worse, and I also had the ex breeze system put in, doesn't help at all, I'm Taking them to court, I'm not satisfied at all with them, they also installed a ease breeze System to help clean air and prevent mold, that is worthless also. They continually bother you telling you that certain things need to be done in a timely manner so u feel like u better get It done, but I would never work with them again and I'm considering suing them because I Feel I got scammed. Beware. I brought them in because of a partially discolored wall in one relatively small portion of an otherwise dry basement. After performing some tests and an inspection, the sales rep proceeded to try to convince me that my entire foundation was at risk from standing in water he somehow knew was present out of sight below ground. The house is 60 years old. His evidence for the argument that my foundation was cracking was an ancient crack (painted over decades ago) in the floor and a barely visible step crack in the wall in another part of the basement. Definitely not new, not the doomsday signs he was suggesting, and not related to the area of concern. His $22K solution was to dig up the entire inside perimeter of the basement including finished areas, install a sump pump, and install drainage on the outside. Areas where the outside was not accessible like where a patio butts up to it would be "sealed" and the results "guaranteed". He was quite convincing about the pressing need to fix these horrific problems developing out of sight threatening the very foundation of my house. But once I got over the initial shock and began to question the assumptions he wanted me to accept, it became clear that the evidence was being inflated to justify a major structural and financial project. The scariest thing is that many people will not be able to see beyond the scare tactics and will be sold the proverbial "bill of goods". Caveat emptor! read more

Spent over $18K to have my basement waterproofed. Large team of guys to do the job, but not a single one actually cared what they were doing. Everything was fine in the basement for 3.5 years. This year, our battery died (it took 4 calls to the office just to get anyone to talk to me) and the people the came were clueless. Now we have water seeping into our basement. Again, 4 calls and more than 2.5 before I could talk to someone. They won't send an 'inspector' for 2.5 more days, and then it's likely going to be a week before anything gets fixed. In the meantime, even though their product (for which we have a warranty) failed, we are responsible for the clean-up and covering any loss. The 'project manager' I talked to actually laughed at me when i suggested they should be responsible for the clean-up and loss. They won't come any sooner because there are no other jobs 'in our area' but we're only 35 minutes from their corporate offices. Yelp wont even give me enough room to fit everything that is wrong with this company. Hopefully you can read my full review on angies list which is the exact copy that was submitted to the BBB. I signed my own death warrant when I signed their contract. Lets just say that their workers carelessly broke more tile in my basement by throwing things around. And then I had locked cabinets in my basement with my tools in them. There being some expensive tools in there i had also Photo trapped the cabinets so i would know if someone had moved anything. Sure enough someone had gone into an area of my home that I had a reasonable expectation of privacy to. Then they tried to get away with not not laying any exterior drain pipe around the house even though that is what they had sold me. They tried to just dig up around the house slap some sealant on the foundation and back fill the dirt. Then they left mud all over the side of my house and never cleaned it up and left the job unfinished as they never calked my front and back porches as was also agreed upon. I wanted them out of my house and felt i could not trust them to even do the job correctly so I had to do a large portion of the work myself. It should have been a sign when we received the post card with the wrong date of appt. They seems very with it when they called to confirm the appt the night before. The day of the appt they called and said inspector was running behind could they reschedule, we agreed to have them come the following week the same time. My Husband left work early be be there on time for them, Oh what happened now another phone call running behind once again, stupid us we agreed. So they were supposed to come today. they called our home last night 3 times never leaving a message we were working late so didn't see they called until after 9 pm.
