I used Frank's to install I-beams in my basement to stabilize the foundation last week. Overall the work was completed and seems fine however the customer service was lacking. The salesman gave me a hard sell and said they would price match their competitor by 100$. They actually didn't price match because the competitor's estimate included an engineering fee and Frank's required me to pay that fee (1000$) out of pocket. Once I agreed to go with Frank's the salesman became much less responsive and it took forever to get the work scheduled. The workers also ripped paint off my siding because they used duct tape to hold back my screens and they also left these screens open in the middle of summer for hours which let in a ton of bugs. The workers also used crude language throughout the entire job. I contacted Franks three times about these issues before writing a review and got no response. read more

So far not so good. Sales person Chris Twarzak omitted work to be done on the contract. People, make sure you read not just sign. Floor drain in low point removed and not replaced. Also no clean out on that wall. I'm told the sump is the low point. Hard to get water in when it's built up higher than the floor level. I have water lines that need draining before winter and it goes onto the floor and it pools up nowhere near a "clean out". If it's only a "clean out " why is it sloped downward? I guess that explains why its at a point the water doesn't go to. Not a drain. Grr. Also my water intrusion shot right past the bright wall and created a pond nowhere near a "clean out " coincidentally the area the water pulls up at is where the drain used to be before they removed it. Also, during the recent heavy rain for days, if you look in the inspection, clean out port, there is no water flowing. It does not follow the drain tile. It's beneath it. We used Franks to bury gutters, install a new bubbler at the street, and changed plumbing for our sump pumps. This was not an inexpensive job compared to other contractor prices, but we went with Franks because of their reputation. Not everything went exactly to plan, a couple things were missed by people, but Frank called me personally because he was not happy with the execution of the project. I wasn't even that upset because they felt like minor annoyances compared to past contractor experiences I have had. They had already communicated that they intended to send different people out to fix them, but Frank went above and beyond! See during and final pictures! We fully intend to use them again for some future basement projects. Listen, you can't control everything everyone does as an employee of your company, but you can make it right. And if you aren't sure if a company you hire is going to have your back if something goes wrong unexpectedly or something gets missed, then just choose Frank's because they are just incredible at taking care of their customers. The "expert" they sent to evaluate my basement was a salesman with one goal in mind - sell me an expensive system that was not needed. I came to my senses after some research and decided to address water issues from the outside and foundation issues from the inside. I worked with a landscaper (and did a bunch of work myself) to grade the property around the foundation properly for $1200. I hired an actual mason to fix the foundation for $3,500. Since then there's been no more efflorescence and no more damp blocks. Frank's wanted to charge me $13,000 for an ineffective interior system that didn't address actual water intrusion sources. Hard sell ... "It's a symptom of a problem." He made me think my basement would collapse. Do your research first. Address the issue outside. Get real advice from a Mason and a structural engineer. These guys only want to sell you an expensive, crap system. read more

Our issue is that water pools in the center of our lawn like crazy, especially in the center, for days and days after it rains. We requested a free estimate via Frank's website and they called to set up an appointment. I clarified that it was just the yard that needed drainage (our basement is bone-dry). The day of the appointment, a man called me and said he'd be out shortly to take a look at our basement. I told him that the issue was the lawn, not the basement, and he said: 'We don't do lawns, only basements.' This was weird because the person who set up the appointment said that they do in fact do lawns. I asked on social media for recommendations for yard drainage and the owner of Frank's messaged me offering his services. I spoke to him about the issue, he said he'd stop by himself to take a look (and he confirmed that they were not doing lawns for awhile but are now doing them again). We set up a day & time and he said he'd call when he was about a half hour away. While he was very nice and almost dad-like on the phone to talk with, he never showed up and he never called to cancel or even to reschedule. Maybe he got busy or had an emergency or just plain forgot, but we haven't heard from him since. read more

Do yourself a favor and call Roto Rooter. They showed up on time and ready to work. Roto Rooter is not just for clearing septic and sewer pipes. They are also excellent plumbers. They replaced all the galvanized pipes in my house and fixed a clogged outside gutter drain. read more

My husband and I bought a house that Franks basement systems did some work on. The basement keeps flooding due to the sump pump and after having a different plumber came to look at the work, he said they did a horrible job. Instead of having the customers best interests they only look out for the money. They installed a system that collects all rain water in the gutters from my house and garage into the sump pump. They could have done a couple different things to make the job easier and cheaper. I'm not going into details because i do not want to help this company by any means with new ideas. I will say the sump pump can not handle the amount of water that this system is dumping into it causing more issues then this whole project was worth. When considering at this company please keep looking. They're causing more trouble then helping. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about this business and especially the owner of the company, Frank Dimaria. Recently, an older family member of mine was in need of a time sensitive evaluation of her basement. When I called for an appointment on her behalf, I was told by an employee that they were extremely busy and an estimator could not come out for several days Mr. Dimaria heard about the situation and called back immediately to say that he, personally, would make time to come over and take a look. Not only did he come the very next day, he came at 8:50 pm on a Friday night after working all day! Talk about a kind and caring business owner. He offered extremely knowledgeable and professional insight of the basement and presented a very affordable price for service in case the need should arise in the future. I personally had a basement repair done with this company at my own house and it has held up perfectly. From start to finish, everyone was so professional and wonderful to work with. I am extremely dissatisfied with Franks company and the service and work they company performed for us. Let me begin in October 2018, when it came to our attention that our foundation would need piles installed to support the crawl space attached to the original block foundation of our home. After having a successful meeting with a sales representative, we decided to go with this company. They appeared honest, had competitive prices and we had a good vibe from the sales representative. We put our blind faith in their hands, hoping that they could help to ease the blow of the difficult circumstances surrounding our large and expensive repair. Huge mistake. Upon the job being completed in March, the crew left a mess, both outside and inside. First, the ground was completely torn to shreds, with little to no attempt at a repair. We were assured that it would be remedied come April when a lawn restoration team would address the issue. Secondly, the crawl space insulation that was removed for the job, was left in a big heap of a mess in the middle of the crawl space. It was not reinstalled, nor was it taken care of properly. Finally, the crew damage our siding in a few areas, that is now cracked. Additionally, after reviewing the work upon completion. I noticed that after the trench had been back-filled, the exterior cracks in the block foundation had not been tuck pointed. I had to call to the company back out to complete this job that should have been taken care of in the first place. To no surprise, the crew did a sub-par job, digging only a foot deep to repair cracks that otherwise should have been filled the entirety (6 ft apparently) of the foundation. Jumping ahead to mid April, I began to contact Franks regarding the lawn restoration, where I was met with appeasement and false promises. I was told it would happen in early May, then late May, and all of a sudden we're into June. I repeatedly had to go out of my way to contact their company just to find out that we've been pushed back again and again. Yet, somehow, a home in the adjoining neighborhood who had the same repair done weeks after us, was remedied before ours. As we awaited the job in our muddy mess of a lawn, May also found us with another issue. The electricity to our home was somehow lost. After calling the local provider, we learned that there was a disruption to lines coming into the house, coincidentally where the foundation was dug and repaired. An electrician was sent to repair the issue. Since the repair, we have not had any issues. Based on the quality (or lack their of) of work we've seen from them, I'm not holding my breath. Finally come July, your company came around to fixing our lawn. We were told a crew would be here on a Tuesday, until Tuesday came and went. And then it's Wednesday, Thursday and finally, they arrived on that Friday. The team did a mediocre job. The grass has grown in but the leveling of the ground remains uneven, with random areas of dips left from the initial repairs made in March. There was also extra mud/soil left for us to have to grade the landscape on our own. Around this same time, we were also noticing that the repaired cracks were beginning to open again. In fact, one was big enough for me to put my thumb through. I again called and had someone come out to repair the cracks with hydrolic cement. I only wonder how long it will take for it to crack/crumble again. To put a beautiful cherry on top of all of this, our sump pump was somehow disassembled during this job. Water was leaking all over and I needed to have you come back out again to fix it. I cannot put my frustration into words. You assume as a consumer that when you contract out a job of this size ($$$) and put 100% of our faith into a company, that you'll receive quality work and service backed with integrity. Unfortunately for us, this was far from the case. I write this not as slander, but in the hope that their employees and all involved will recognize the unnecessary headache they've put our family through in a time where we already experienced a home crisis such as a foundation repair. In the future, it is my hope that they will handle their accounts with greater attention to detail, honesty in the service department and thorough inspection of the job and job sites to avoid any unnecessary future repairs and issues. I've reach out to the company in hopes that they contact me regarding my concerns. I have not heard back. I would love the opportunity to speak with someone in an administrative position regarding my dissatisfaction. In the meantime, I caution you to deal with Franks Basements. Not happy with the customer service aspect of Frank's basement. It took 3 tries to get them to my house just for the estimate because the day of they had to keep cancelling for one reason or another. Then the day of insulation they had to cancel again which means I lost another day of pay. And when I asked what they were going to do to compensate me, the guy said show up on time tomorrow. November '18 - Received estimate Thursday - July 11, 19 - Signed contract Saturday - July 13, 19 - Salesman left voicemail that he spoke to the city plumbing inspector's office on Friday afternoon and relayed that the plumbing inspector insists on a licensed plumber be on-site during the project. Because of his conversation with the city plumbing inspector's office, the salesman wants $500. more than the contract price. Tuesday - July 16, 19 - I went to the city plumbing inspector to satisfy my curiosity. After playing the salesman's voicemail to office personnel it was determined that the salesman did not contact the city plumbing inspector's office on Friday afternoon because the plumbing inspector's office was closed. The city plumbing inspector suggested I contact a master plumber at the company and I was given contact information. Wednesday - July 17, 19 - I called the business and left a message for the master plumber to call me. Monday - July 22, 19 - Master plumber called me and we discussed the contract. The master plumber stated that all personnel know that a licensed plumber must be on-site and that this would have been reflected in the contract price. The master plumber did not know why the salesman would want an additional $500. He would find out why and call me in a day or two - that was nine days ago. Wednesday - July 31, 19 - The salesman called to find out if I would authorize the additional $500. I told him that I was in contact with the master plumber and that the master plumber was going to find some answers for me. The salesman said he would talk to the master plumber and call me back. That was yesterday afternoon. It is now Thursday night and I am still waiting for a call. read more

Unfortunately I have to rate them 2 stars...and we are a customer from 7 years ago when they shored up a wall, moved the sump pump and put in new perimeter floor drainage. Basement was drier than normal afterwards...happy about that. Then slowly a few yrs later water started pooling again in the corner where the old sump was of course and where they put in a corner drain....problem is the drain is higher than the water...slopes upwards in that corner...never noticed it until water got a few inches deep and we have to sweetie it to the drain..pain in the butt. Water comes up through floor cracks not walls. Another issue we just discovered ... Pulled out the proposal and it said they would skim the floor with hydraulic cement to seal the cracks. Again our bad we didn't read the proposal as well as we should have and checked the boxes when it came to signing the contract which did not list the sealing if the cracks of course so our bad on that. Every year we have them service the sump pump system...even had to replace it a few times already but that's normal...you see our sump runs every few minutes...seriously. The water table under our house is very high. Each time a tech came to inspect and service the pump they took pics of the standing water without us even saying anything ..they were totally surprised by how much there was and even more now. Poor techs tried to make us feel better by saying they will make sure someone calls us...never happened..that's like 5 techs ago. Covid hit but we were still diligent each year to get sump inspected...same tech reaction and promise...no calls. So we called twice now ourselves ..left messages about problem and techs pics taken each year. No return calls. Unfortunately I'm hoping this might catch someone's attention. On my honeywell screen, it said needs batt (battery). She explained to me how to remove the plastic cover, then remove and replace my two "AA" batteries. Just want to put the word out regarding my experience with Frank's. Last evening my sump pump started leaking from the pipe and squirting all over the basement. Needless to say the sump pump was running every minute. I had never used Frank's before but had heard great things about them. I called at 8:00 pm. on Saturday evening. All the plumbers were busy because of all the rain we have been having. Frank DiMaria, the owner, literally came to my house at 8:30 pm. tightened what needed to be fixed and did not charge me! I could not have been more relieved, as my basement was on the verge of flooding and the pump would have burned out. Just want to let everyone know how impressed I am. What a fantastic company. I would recommend them. The sales guy was nice, friendly but also knew what he was looking at and looking for. We had a vertical crack that came and met with a 8ft horizontal crack and one company just wanted to fill it so we wouldn't get water. Umm problem is we never had water to begin with. Franks knew what they were looking at came in a did a good job. They did a good job on the first two days of isolating the area and minimizing the dust but then when they took it down and had to go back and forth they never put it back up. Not really a big deal it just put a layer of dust over everything. So bad I had to mop the basement floor to prevent it from tracking everywhere. They did sweep the floor, they did cover my stairs and they did cover my flooring so they did take care of my house. The workers were friendly and they did the job in 4 days as they said. I contacted Frank's Mr. Plumber to fix my sump pump drainage system that wasn't draining. The problem was the pvc pipes did not fit into the outside cast iron drainage pipe. The plumber came with Frank, the owner, and personally came up with a solution. They had to grind down the cast iron pipe and fit it with a Furnco rubber fitting and then attach the pvc pipes. Everything was perfectly done, attached properly and it doesn't leak anymore. The best part was they didn't accept any extra payment except payment for cleaning out the adjoining drain lines. Used Frank's to fix a water problem in our wine cellar and to install basement wall I-beams and carbon fiber bands. All,workers weee pleasant and professional. During the course of the project they hit the sewer line and the water line. They reversed the placement of the beams and the bands without telling anyone( me, the city of Grand Island). After the work , the wine cellar water problem was worse than ever ie. Multiple new water entries and flowing water. I knew I had no guarantee on that aspect of the job but I didn't expect it to get worse. I called multiple times and they came out several times but ultimately the message was we can't do any thing else. This was in the fall of 2015. I am now attempting to have it fixed again using my local plumber who I should have used in the first place. read more
