After job was done was told , need new flue ... after waiting for that estimate finally received it $2500 more after paying $2800 for the chimney ... Had that company come over beforehand look at chimney never told me it needed a flue ... Also they reused old tin cap and assembly on top and now it looks bent after reinstall ! Just can't believe $2800 for 5 hours work , what do bricks and a little mortar cost ? Grant it something I can't do , only because of my age ! Understand costs of running a business and making a profit and having a couple of 25 year old kids , I expected at least a whole new tin cap and everything new ... Should have been told about flue as when the chimney was first looked at .... All I can say do homework get a few more estimates ! Will get other quotes on a flue !

We were quoted for a new roof on our home in April 2025 and work began soon after. The workers had total disregard for our property. They stomped across our front garden, left their empty cans in our children's sandbox, and left nails just all over. They also smashed and snapped a huge limb off of our lilac bush (I watched them do this carelessly). They left extra pieces of roofing on the roof that blew off into the yard as well as a significant amount of nails on top of the roof of our porch. I understand the work can be messy, but this seemed outrageous. I was picking nails off our driveway for months afterward. The real issues started this winter. We live in Colden, NY and are used to harsh winters with an old roof. However, you'd think after almost $30k for a brand new roof you wouldn't have to worry about leaking/ insane ice issues on it. We have had leaking in the past that we were told would be remedied with the new roof. Instead, the leaking has been significantly worse this year causing more damage through our walls and ceilings. The first time they sent a repairman out to address the issue I was not asked if we were home or if they could come on the property. They called and told me (again, not asked) they'd be at our house in 20 minutes. While I appreciate the quick response, I am a SAHM with two littles and really did not feel comfortable receiving a call that someone would be coming into my home while I was home by myself. In addition to this, they gave the repairman the wrong address and he ended up stuck in my neighbor's driveway which was completely torn up when they pulled him out. The repairman did nothing but take photos of the house and shrug. He told me he couldn't do anything because the amount of ice on the roof would further damage it. The second time this happened, he took a ladder up to look at the issue and told us it was because of the siding. Our siding is old, however we are not convinced the siding is the issue. He found more pieces of roof that'd blown off in our yard and told us he was going to leave to reshape them and come back later that day to reattach them. He never came back, and we never heard from anyone again.

He didn't try to push us in any particular direction but listened to what we wanted and made suggestions. He also gave us the heads up for an upcoming sale so we could make sure we got a good price. One the day of install the team worked quickly and did a thorough job cleaning up afterwards so we didn't have to worry about any mess. They were one of 3…read morecontractors we called to give quotes and they were willing to do the most work (reroofing all the different smaller porch roofs, etc) the soonest. They also gave a discount to my husband for being a veteran. We were very pleased with them. They told us about when we would be on their schedule and then called us a week ahead of time to let us know they would be coming the following week. We did ask them to hold off for a day and we were fine with it. They gave us a full set of instructions on how to protect all our belongings from any damage that might happen while the roof was being replaced. The roofers came and did the work and cleaned up after themselves. After the job was completed the president of the company came out and evaluated the job and let us know of any little problems he noticed and told us a crew would be out to address them. It would be some of the smallest things like the roof looked slightly indented in one spot. We were really pleased with this professionalism and felt Stockmohr really had our best interest in mind. It's been a number of months now and our roof seems to be perfect!
