This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. First, when I called for an estimate John actually called back. As I'm sure many of you know you make calls looking to get an estimate for work and you don't even receive the courtesy of a call back. That's not the case with John. After we receive the estimate we decided we wanted to go with JMK after reading the fantastic reviews. However, we did not have the funds and did not want to pay an additional charge to put the deposit on my credit card. When I reached out to John and explained the situation he put me on the schedule in good faith until I sent in the deposit. The work started on the day we were told it would start and ended on the day we were told it would end. Partway through the work I realized that John and I may have had a communication error with what I wanted and what he thought I wanted and when we discussed it he immediately corrected and promptly addressed my concerns. In all this was the best experience I've had with a contractor.

The salesman gave me a hard sell and said they would price match their competitor by 100$. They actually didn't price match because the competitor's estimate included an engineering fee and Frank's required me to pay that fee (1000$) out of pocket. Once I agreed to go with Frank's the salesman became much less responsive and it took forever to get the work scheduled. The workers also ripped paint off my siding because they used duct tape to hold back my screens and they also left these screens open in the middle of summer for hours which let in a ton of bugs. The workers also used crude language throughout the entire job. I contacted Franks three times about these issues before writing a review and got no response.

They put in floor tiles, drywalled, used subway tiles and a soaker tub was installed. Also had the sink faucets changed out to match the new tub. The bathroom was painted and now I have a fabulous up to date bathroom. Dave, my project manager was very professional and addressed all concerns about the deck and bathroom. Brad explained what they would do in detail, he did not try to push for more work than we needed like one other well advertised company did! The price was 25% lower too and they installed a tee so if needed in the future I could clean out the drain tiles because I have an iron problem called orcher bacteria. They even told me about a product called "orcher blocker " to help with the problem! The other guy saw the problem but wanted to replace all my drain tiles for tens of thousands of $$$ ! The repair guys put down plastic along the complete path through my hose , on the rugged stairs and across the basement to protect the brand new floor I am installing to the work site! They were efficient, quick , explained what and why they did it, they told me about the "orcher blocker" to help with the iron that has plugged my tiles , sump well and burned out plenty of pumps that I have agonized with for 35 years!! We are very very pleased with them…read more The estimator was the most honest and forth coming out of all the companies we had here doing estimates (3 total) they gave us all our options without just jumping to the highest price point like other companies did. It took a little while To get scheduled and then it took a few months to wait for the appointment. When the day of the appoint finally came, the workers were professional, reliable, and hard working. They put down floor covering to make sure they were not tracking in anything while going I and out of the basement. They were clear with what they needed from us and communicated when they were leaving for lunch, for the day, etc. none of our cracks leak at all! It's been about 2 months since they were here and we are really pleased.

Instead of listening to my gut and taking 24hrs to think everything over that was shown to me and options dicussed by Stellar's salesperson, instead I gave a deposit that same day. At this time, I am in no financial situation to take out a financial responsibility of financing the dollar amount it would cost to put a new roof on just my house (not including my garage-that is reaching the time for replacement also). I didn't listen to my inner voice, I gave a deposit anyways...money that was actually allocated for my property taxes. Before speaking to Ron, I had talked to one other guy and he made it sound like I wasn't going to be able to recoop ANY of my deposit. This had made me so emotionally upset that by the time I spoke to Ron I found it difficult to keep my composure. Ron listened to me like a person in trouble and said he could help try to remedy the situation...do what he could to get me a full refund. As it stands, he was able to recoop all BUT $600, which he says is the permit fee and the restocking fee. He said he was going to try and recoop the those fees also. I will know tomorrow (July 23, 2026) by close of business if he was able to come through for me!! I will update this review, either way tomorrow, when I know if Ron was able to recoop the entire deposit and I don't have to worry about replacing any of my property tax money.

We hired this company to remove our old, broken concrete front steps and pour new ones. While the initial communication was great, it became incredibly un-dependable and hard to come by as the job progressed. Ultimately, it took 7 weeks to complete a 4-step project due to poor craftsmanship and multiple delays. The issues began when the initial pour completely failed inspection. The step measurements were wildly inconsistent--the top step had a 4-inch rise, while the others varied from 7.5 to 8.5 inches from step to step, and it sloped from left to right. When I brought this up, the contractor was defensive, insisting that everything they poured was "up to code" and there was nothing wrong with them. However, they later admitted the mold had been stepped on by the crew. After several communication gaps, missed timelines, and a partial refund discussion, the city inspector officially failed the steps on May 4th, stating they required a complete tear-out and replace due to the safety and rise inconsistencies. The second round of demolition and pouring took another three weeks. Throughout this entire process, I was never notified in advance when plans changed or when the crew would show up. I had to actively chase the contractor for updates just to find out when people would be at my house. While the second set of steps finally passed inspection, they still have visible flaws.
