They didn't even put the purple pipe sealant on the pipes correctly, didn't sand the concrete, caused a fire hazard with electrical cords dangling over the spewing water from pipes, and didn't fix the step down crack. I had to beg them to comeback to fix it. They did a crappy job fixing it and didn't even fix everything. I could've hired someone from Craigslist and they would've done a better job. Reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They didn't even offer to compensate for the damages to my warped sink, damaged walls, damaged clothes and gas generator the water damage destroyed due to their negligence. STAY FAR AWAY. The town of Irondequoit is investigating as well. I have a video of the pipes spraying all over my basement walls.

Due to the limited access and uncertainty of how much damage existed, many companies took one look at it and didn't want to bid it. Tim was able to come up with a plan to create an access, dig out the crawlspace, repair the structure, seal it against moisture, and re-insulate it. His team did a great job in the time expected despite finding more damage than was planned. I had his team come back the next year to fix similar issues in other areas of the crawlspace on a much larger scale. There, we found many more issues that were unexpected including structural flaws and water line leaks. Thanks to his team's broad skillset, work ethic, and knowledge a huge amount of work was done in as short of a time as possible. Tim was also helpful in suggesting options to save time and money on the project by me bringing in side labor apart from his team's work. The house was torn up for this project, making their commitment to getting the job done correctly while also dedicating 100% of their time to my job was invaluable. Projects like these where the amount of work is unknown leaves the homeowner vulnerable to being soaked on cost, work that is incomplete, or a project schedule that drags on and on. I found Tim to be very reasonable in setting expectations as best he could, getting us to a solution, and finding a fair way to set his prices so his team wasn't working for free and I wasn't overpaying.

A year ago we called Crawford Basements out to look at a basement window well which was leaking in…read morea new property we purchased. The wall under the window was starting to get moldy and we were very concerned. I assumed the recommendation would be to glass block the window in. Dave Crawford Jr., the company representative, said that would be completely inadequate and went on to recommend a window well drain and a complete drainage system under the existing concrete floor. Cost $7695. He was very persuasive and insisted with confidence that this was the only adequate method to control the moisture. I stupidly signed the contract and put 30% down ($2308.50). Two days later I called Crawford Basements back to hold off and try the glass block first. I asked if they would put in the glass block for me first and they said that was not a service they offered. After much pestering by me, and many phone calls, they finally said they would refund all but $400, but would put that amount toward the full drainage system if I should decide to do that. I had another company install the glass block for $230. The problem disappeared immediately and hasn't returned. That was a year ago. This company only has this expensive drainage product and they will push that on you aggressively. Be careful with Dave Crawford, he is very smooth for his young age and will prey on your concern about mold. Legally, Crawford Basements did nothing wrong because I signed the contract, however, most reputable contractors either don't pressure you to sign and put money down (2 months ahead of the scheduled start day), or they refund your money if they have spent ZERO time on your job - because they want your future business. This lesson cost me $400.
