A friend recommended Ever Clean to me for window washing, based on years of great experience with Ever Clean. At first, I was super excited as this was a "first" for us, to schedule a window washing company and I was even going to suggest Ever Clean to our HOA Property Management for quotes for both power washing and gutter cleaning, before the aftermath. Previously, I cleaned most of our outdoor windows, but due to a shoulder injury, I thought it was perfect to hire someone else to do it.
As of today 7/17/24, 1,065 reviews (with only 34 1-star reviews), this will be my 35th 1-star review. If you read my reviews, I am fair in my experience and try to also hire more small/local businesses, especially for home repair and maintenance. Throughout my life, and also being on a HOA board for almost a decade, I've worked with many local vendors and property management companies and all have been years to decade-long established relationships, so this interaction was interesting to say the least.
I am guessing that the company is on the smaller side so all communication had been through text, no phone calls, which is good because everything is documented, but you'll never speak to a live person through the office phone. It was quick and easy to get a quote from Efrain, to setting up an appointment. The worker texted me this morning if they could come earlier as the appointment before mine cancelled, and I was good with it - flexibility. We also had a contractor working on the interior of place at the same time, nowhere near any windows.
All outdoor cleaning was completed within 30 minutes of arrival and we were ecstatic to have clean windows!
I will preface this and say, if you have any patio windows that are being cleaned, make sure to be home to double check the inside.
At first, I only thought of how the windows looked clean on the outside BUT once I stepped into my place, there was a large puddle of water (approx 1.5', about 18"+ wide, to about 4' tall or more of water on our hardwood floors). Yes, a cardboard box of items was soaked through (18"+ away from the patio window) but the problem is not that the cardboard box was ruined (which the worker apologized for the box). The problem is that our hardwood floors were soaked with water and who knows what for over 20-30 minutes. All the tracks of the patio windows were soaked with water. (Again, not little droplets of water, soaked.) We used more than 25 sheets of nylon cleaning wipes, and these are 16" x 12.2" each, not little small dinky paper towels. Not only were the floorboards and track soaked, our vertical blinds were also wet! So if you have curtains, those would also be soaked. I tried calling Efrain, but he was on a rooftop. I sent pictures - document everything. Efrain apologized and the worker did come back to try to "dry" off what I was already drying off. When the worker left, I was still drying off the patio window tracks and also, under the patio frame as there is a bit of a gap, where water could soak underneath to under the floorboards.
Yes, the water was wiped dry ON THE SURFACE, but who knows the possible damage to UNDERNEATH the flooring as we cannot obviously reach to dry. Damage is not just going to show up, it will show up later.
We never yelled, never blamed anyone, only voiced worry and concern (as this is legitimately a concern) as this is a paid service that was not done well, and basically, both the worker and Efrain said we were overreacting. If we were NOT home, the water damage would have been astronomical! I have NEVER EVER weaseled out of paying for a service, and always work with vendors, but Efrain had the audacity to accuse me of basically not wanting to pay. I never mentioned in my texts, anything of that sort. Good thing everything is through text, as evidence, but I would never again hire a company that thinks there is no problem with how the windows were washed to cause flooding in to the interior, or does not find anything wrong with possible damage or why water flooded in. This is not some sprinkle of water, large puddle of water.
Again, I used to clean our windows and have never ever had water come into our place. The amount of water used must have been too much and the direction of water sprayed. The concrete asphalt floor next to the patio windows was also soaked with puddles of water.
I am sure Ever Clean is great (based on reviews), but if you do use them for window washing (especially patio windows), make sure you are home to check the aftermath of the interior, just in case. The price is great, and they are on-time, but I will need to continue to wash my own windows from now on. read more
