This is also an element of surprise as this experience is refreshing compared to a normal dine out. 30 of us traveled from California and had our team offsite in Austin. We spent one night doing cooking class with SilverWhisk. The venue was a fancy $2.4M house with a pool. It looked right out of Vogue and amazing. By the time we arrived, the appetizers (Tuna crackers) and Sangria were already set up (delicious) and the chefs were preparing for the cooking session. The whole session was very organized and the staff were very friendly. While many of us are not good at the cooking, we received great instruction and the end result turned out to be great! Would totally do it again if our team ever visit Austin again.

Hi! We had a corporate team building activity with 11 people! We had SO MUCH FUN!…read more First off the space was GORGEOUS! Our Chefs (Chef Jerry and Chef Priscilla) were SO kind, patient, fun, and organized! The meals we made were awesome and something that we could all make at home, not "too fancy" where we'd have to go to a special store to get, but also just the right amount of "newness" for some of us that might not try on our own at home...like handmade pasta or from scratch chocolate mousse. We had two teams. One team took Italian and made a handmade Bolognese pasta dish. The second team cooked a Mexican Chicken and Rice dish. Both teams prepared a dessert as well. It was the most fun most people have had at a corporate event! *So much better than a stuffy overpriced steak dinner!* I could see this being a great way to start a bachelorette party, friend gathering, family reunion, birthday party, date night with other couples, etc.! We hope you open up more spots in different cities! Highly encourage it!

I had the opportunity to attend an evening bbq catered by Chef Cynthia while visiting friends in Austin. She served up an incredible array of creative and delicious food! I was truly impressed with her professionalism. She was punctual, accomodating to our requests, offered up recipes and tips on cooking and as a bonus, she is one of the friendliest chefs I have had the pleasure to meet! Freda's Kitchen - Iron Chef Review…read more We engaged Ashley and her team to create an Iron Chef style event for our family of fifteen ages 5-84 over the holidays. They did an absolutely incredible job! Ashley made sure every detail was taken care of and coordinated the entire event flawlessly. Ashley's team members (Kyle, Kristin, Holly and Chef Uyen Pham) were all exceptionally professional and they ensured it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Although the final results are still under protest (just kidding). We highly recommend Freda's Kitchen for anyone looking for something different whether it be a team building or in our case a family event. We also held it at Wilson's Appliance in Dripping Springs who were gracious in allowing to use their top of line equipment in their model kitchens.

Our chef and her assistant were…read morereally friendly and down-to-earth, and they gave an introduction letting us know about their business and why they started it, which gave some meaning to what we were doing. The space where we ate was gorgeous and felt like we were dining in someone's beautiful home. Half our group was running late (30 minutes!) due to the marathon closing off some roads, and they still gave us our full experience. FYI, it is BYO here! If we had known earlier, we would have brought our own additional drinks, but they did serve us wine. The kitchen was a little cramped for 14 of us, and compared to other cooking classes I've done, it was a little ad-hoc getting everyone organized. They didn't have a pre-set number of people for each station, and with only 2 staff, they were stretched a little thin helping everyone. It all worked out, but it was a little slow figuring out who would do what, with rough last minute estimates on how many people were needed at each spot. Still, our food was great, we all learned some new kitchen skills (though the chef did help us quite a bit to get us there!), and we had a fun time! There were tons of leftovers too.

We had veggie and chicken tikka masala, as well as a cashew quinoa salad. All FANTASTIC, fresh, delicious, and clearly healthy. The veggie tikka had quinoa, and both dishes were full of delicious fresh veggies, including brussels sprouts, green beans, cauliflower, carrots, squash, and more. The chicken was tender and delicious, and the sauce flavorful, but not overpowering the food at all. The vegan brownies I initially resisted trying (because . . . vegan brownies?). But actually they were very good, extremely moist, and tasty. I wish there was a restaurant. But in the meantime, I sure hope we get them catered in again. OFTEN.

I've done quite a few events at the SicolaGardenHouse... both as guest of other events as well as hosting my own. And they have it all. I'm always looking for conversation points and unique options when it comes to dining... whether I'm considering a special evening for family, for networking, for friends, for colleagues, or for a date. I call Sarah up, she asks me what I'm looking to do... she remembers what I've done in the past, and then she helps me make the perfect event. The food is absolutely amazing... better than I've had at most 5-star restaurants. I've traveled the world and nearly the entire country. I've yet to find a dining destination as cool as the Sicola Garden House. You don't have to have all the answers (Sarah will help you), you just have to call. My guests and the catering staff were raving about how great the venue was. The rental process was very easy and the rates very reasonable. I would be very happy to rent this space in the future for other events.

The hero of my meal was the Crab Salad with Ragivote dressing and the Crawfish Etouffe, stellar food. He also gave a bit of a breakdown of Creole/Cajun history. I would 100% book Chef Mike again.
