Super NICE down to earth guys and a company very eager to please. SAVED- SEROUISLY, SAVED my wedding day. Rain was not expected to let up and we called them 2 DAYs BEFORE MY WEDDING and they showed up the next day and stayed until 10PM to make sure everything was right. Lewis, Henry and all crew members- super honest and helpful. When the wind snapped all the lines, Lewis came out on my wedding day to fix everything! He is just a kind guy- you want his business to do well! Very honest- could have make a few more bucks by suggesting additional heaters, but he was very honest with everything and I REALLY appreciate it. He was right. THANK you Event Magic- YOU SAVED my wedding and everyone LOVED the tent- thought it looked better than without! OH- AND they AMAZINGLY worked hard to put the tent up over existing 13 foot trees (something that they usually wouldn't do by their protocol-see amazing photos on how they did it). Really nice guys, great service. read more

Event Magic - Amazing! They strived to put the tent over our trees, despite not being their protocol just to make sure my wedding would go on! - Party Equipment Rentals Near Me - Oakland, California

I hired Event Magic to provide tables and equipment for an event last year. They got the job because they had the best price, and were very accommodating of the venue's drop off & pickup times (which other companies quoted me an arm and a leg for). That great experience with Henry and his crew earned them another job on a much bigger event this year. I took him a quote from one of the Big Name rental companies- which had been slow to respond and very impersonal, but I figured I'd work with them as an easy one-stop shop. I'm so glad I gave Henry a chance to beat their quote. He went above and beyond to not only offer me a better price on needed items, but also recommend that I contact certain vendors directly to save a little extra money. I didn't need anything custom-made this time, but good to know they have an entire workshop and studio to create almost anything you could want. On a tight timeline and with a limited budget, Event Magic nailed it! I also want to commend the team that delivered and broke down the equipment the day of my event. They worked quickly, safely and with a smile. All around, a great experience. I highly recommend! read more

Stop!!!!! These folks are very pleasant over the phone but if you have a order for less than $1000 dollars you have to pick up you own tables and chairs. That additional step would stress me out. Next. read more

These guys are so awesome! They were very patient even when our client changed their mind several times and fielded all our questions with aplomb. It seems like there is nothing that they don't rent AND at great prices! I will definitely use them in the future. read more

These guys are great. Called them last minute when another provider fell through, and not only were they able to accommodate a large rental order for the same day (tables, chairs, linens), they were also able to deliver for a small fee, and their overall rates were cheaper than the original vendor we found. Eddie and his crew made everything incredibly quick and easy. Thanks Event Magic! read more

Eddie and his team were great and easy to work with. We had a wedding at Costanoa Resort in Pescadero and they provided the dance floor, lighting, speakers, and magic. Really. Eddie even rigged a disco ball for me that I was unable to rig myself. He took the time to walk through the design, making sure it fit our needs. In short, he has great customer service, and extremely good value. He is a hard worker and cares about the end result. This is more than I can say about other businesses we received quotes from. In fact, Eddie consistently followed up with me every time I called - and even when he had questions regarding our needs. I can't say enough about this company's ability to make our event unforgettable. Our guests were blown away by the lighting package he put together for our wedding, and so were we. I would highly, absolutely recommend his team again. read more

Normally, the word 'Magic' in a business name is an overstatement. But I don't know what else to call a business that - at 4:45pm yesterday - responded to a frantic call from me, needing AV equipment for a presentation at 7am this morning, and calmly made it happen like it was no big thing. When my manager asked me at 4:40 to find someone who could make this happen, I thought "I'll be amazed if I can even find someone who won't just laugh and slam the phone down." Enter Event Magic, and the miraculous Eddie. Eddie has probably dealt with a lot of last-minute desperate needs before and he knows how to handle them. He's professional, unflappable (a great thing in an event coordinator!) - and he knows how to get things done. He's not just a renter of anything and everything you could want - he's a 'Fixer'. He was leaving to run a personal errand when I called, and he STILL managed to work around it, and get me a laptop, projector, screen, AND a tech to show up at 7am this morning to set it all up. I have used EM before, and had recently recommended them to a friend who needs a wide range of things for a very tricky wedding. Her quote: "They have EVERYTHING, and if they don't, they find it." It's true. Even as I write this, the seminar is happening without a hitch. Event Magic made it work. Highly recommended. read more

Henry from Event Magic is the Real Deal! Helped a friend of mine with his Sneaker Event in Alameda and came thru at the last minute with all of the right equipment needed and for the right price. If you ever need some help with an event, party, show etc, then Event Magic (Henry) is the place to call. Delivered the Goods! Will be using them for every event planned! Thanks! read more

Henry and the team at Event Magic provided the rentals for our wedding and everything worked out great from start to finish. They were easy to work with and had everything we needed. The pricing and service far exceeded other rental companies in the area and I would definitely work with them again in the future. read more

Wow! This company is on point! They saved me so much money and stress in my last hour of planning when I found out all the tables I needed at my venue were not available. Instead of paying a ridonculous amount of money on delivery fees with a big rental company, which will remain nameless, call up these guys! They are prompt, professional and cost effective without sacrificing quality. read more

It is hard to be too enthusiastic about the support you get when you work with Event Magic. I produced a series of concerts for a client - Urban Island Home Furnishings in Alameda. I used event magic for chairs and tables, stairs and propane heaters. It has been very, very cold and these concerts are only in a semi-covered area - so the heaters were critical. This last Saturday night I could not get the third heater to fire, and I was losing audience. Even though event magic is closed on Saturday nights, I took a chance & called. Eddie answered!, And when I explained he problem, jumped in his truck with a new propane tank and brought it to me. When that didn't work, he went to his shop, opened it up, and brought me a new space heater - bigger than I paid for, and started it for me. You can't find this kind of service any more. Top it off - his prices are the most reasonable around. I highly recommend Eddie and his folks at Event Magic. They are truly good folks! read more

This place has saved my ass many times. Photoshoots or filmshoots that need last minute props? call em up. You can even call them when they're closed-- Eddie picked up and hooked us up right away. read more

Event Magic delivered and set-up tables and chairs for our wedding in Golden Gate Park. Reliable, in regular contact through phone and email, resonable prices and all with a big smile. I'd recommend them for any party. read more

This place has everything you need for planning your wedding, corporate event, and any other special event you have!!! Their staff was really supportive and helpful. I would definitely use them again!! The website is pretty cool too! EventMagic.com! There's a price list and a lot of cool props and backdrops. Plus, tons of pictures of their past work! I couldn't believe how big their inventory is! It's a local company that delivers all over the Bay Area! read more

These guys are everything you want in a rental company. We did a double wedding at Stern Grove in June of 2009, and planned everything ourselves. Originally, Event Magic was just going to do tables and chairs, but as the date got closer, I kept turning to them for more and more things. They were happy to help and had everything I needed: tables, chairs, glasses, linens, even a sound system. They were on time and reliable, and I feel like we got a great deal for our money. read more

Event Magic made the process of renting chairs, tables and linens dead simple for a recent backyard party we threw. Prices were reasonable (including delivery/pickup), personnel were great and friendly, and everything went as planned. The ONLY downside is that the delivery and pick-up windows were 10-4, so that means someone has to wait around for them to show. If they could give a 2 hour window, or call/text when they are headed your way then they would truly be perfect! read more

Mike at Event Magic was SO nice! He was quite patient with me as I changed the vision of my party, and hence changed the items I was going to rent! Ultimately, I chose a few tables, chairs, coolers, and patio heaters. It wasn't a big order, but he made me feel like I was an important customer, nonetheless. I totally recommend them, and will use them again! read more

I used Events Magic for a work event and they came through for me immediately. They came to my place of employment prior to the event and checked out the space to ensure set up. We needed heaters for the tents and they even loaned me the wrench to turn off the propane in between dates. They came exactly on time for the set up and take down of the event. Eddie really helped me out. read more

Great resource for events, including chairs, heaters, signs, props, valet, lighting and media.

Awesome work. Henry always made ordering my equipment a breeze. The crew that setup was fast and on time. I couldn't ask for more. I would definitely go to Event Magic for any of my event needs. read more

I am an event planner and I appreciate quality vendors. I used them for a wedding I planned this past November and they were super helpful in getting me all the products I needed. I had also accidentally broke a plate and a champagne flute and was not charged a penalty. I would definitely use them again. The reason I am not giving 5 stars because they referred me to another vendor for a backdrop who was completely unreliable. They should be more careful of who they refer customers to. read more

Henry was great. I had a small order & he worked with me to get it right. I called a few times, and he was friendly & easy to talk to. I picked up the order with no problem, the cost was insanely reasonable (oxymoron, I know) and would 100% recommend them to anyone in need of party or event rentals. read more

The best part of Event Magic is their enthusiasm for your event even though you know they've done thousands of the same. But because they have done so many they can also anticipate the needs of any rookie party planner. I have successfully used Event Magic for the last 4 years for our annual family BBQ. I did not hesitate to call them for a very special birthday party that required many entertainment features. Lounge furniture, cocktail tables, a photo booth, a 60 inch TV screen, and enough linen, cutlery and glassware to meet the needs of the caterer. They were there on time for delivery and pickup. I recommend working with Henry although everyone was very helpful. Everyone had a great time thanks to a very professional staff. read more

I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Henry Perez at Event Magic. The past two years he and his crew has always done a tremendous job hosting our Annual Client Appreciation Casino party, our clients enjoy his engaging persona as they look forward to our event every year! Henry is very flexible and will work with your budget. He's a great person who's true to his word and I will always use Event Magic for all our events and highly recommend them as well. read more

Event Magic was great to work with! They set up a fantastic tent with heaters, tables and chairs. Their prices were the best and the service over the phone, email and upon set up and break down was awesome! I highly recommend renting from Event Magic. read more

Everything arrived in one piece and on-time, but they were 90 mins late on pick-up. I called the crew 3 times before they returned. It was clear they had forgotten on the first call, and they subsequently blamed traffic. Not our issue, really. We had to wait on-site for them to arrive. Total buzzkill. read more

Earlier this year I helped organize my boyfriends birthday and Event Magic took all my stress away they brought everything set up and picked it up they were also super flexible on the pick up day and time very nice guys and excellent customer service I will certainly use them again! They forgot to bring one recycling bin but they took the trip back to go get it! Support local Oakland businesses! This Is it for me right here! Also quite reasonable prices and I'm about to call them to set up for my birthday! read more

I had a great experience with Eddie Cantrell and Event Magic. I needed china and glassware for an important event on a Sunday. I was so swamped with work the week before, forgot all party rental places, in Oakland/East Bay anyway, are closed on Sunday. Found Event Magic on the Internet, and called. Eddie answered and met me at the warehouse. Provided everything I needed and then some for a very reasonable price. Service with a smile and everything I rented was in good condition and looked great. Event Magic saved the day! I highly recommend, especially if your event is located in Oakland - very convenient. They also do staging, A/V and more. Check them out! read more

Wow, where do I even begin!?! I originally contacted Henry at Event Magic for up-lighting for our recent wedding reception venue in San Francisco. From day one, Henry was so friendly and incredibly responsive to emails, texts and calls. He made suggestions on the kind of lighting that would look best and worked with my budget so my vision could come alive. Let me tell you, my budget was tough but he made it work. I later realized that Event Magic does more than just lighting......they do it all! So after comparing prices, I ended up hiring them for our rentals at our ceremony location as well as the reception. He gave us such an amazing deal and was so easy to work with. The day of the wedding....all the rentals and lighting were absolutely perfect!! I am still getting calls telling me just how amazing the venues looked that day. Henry and his team went above and beyond what I hired them to do which is so rare to encounter this day in age. I can't tell you how nice it was to work with Henry and I would recommend him to anyone getting married or having a special event that you need equipment, lighting, rentals, you name it....they've got it! Thanks again Henry....you truly made our wedding day Magical!! read more

WOW!! This is the first time I had rented something from them and the LAST TIME. I had rented only two canopies from them for an event and both canopies were FILTHY. They didn't even check the canopies before they gave it to us. When they were going to change it, it was too late. We had plenty of people in our booth so it was useless to change it. Around us there were plenty of canopies and we were the laughing stock of the place. We will never rent from them again. ALSO, when we spoke to the manager he responded rudely and told us that it is our own responsibility to check the canopies and that it is written in the policy - a policy that doesn't exist because no where and at no time did they announce it (written or verbal). Truly unprofessional. read more

Eddie Cantrell is one of the kindest people you can do business with! He answered a 7AM panic call from us on the morning of our shoot and organized what we needed and delivered everything straight away. Professionals with integrity are hard to find and Eddie is both. We used Event Magic for our wedding reception at Costanoa Lodge in Pescadero, CA a couple of weeks ago. The tent, dance floor and lighting were all very nice and expertly set up without any worry or concern from us. The event was wonderful and Eddie was helpful/infomative throughout the planning process as we decided exactly what we needed. We would totally recommend them if you are considering them for your wedding. read more

We were looking for hours for a place to rent flags for an event. Eddie at Event Magic has everything. Thanks.

We used Event Magic to set up lighting and rentals the day of our wedding, and their team was on point. The overhead string lighting was a big hit, along with the multi-colored up-lights on the building. All of our dinnerware rentals were delivered in crates, sterilized and ready for immediate use. The wedding chairs were stacked well and easy to unload. Overall, all of the rentals were well-maintained, looked great the day of the wedding, and were reasonably priced. Henry is energetic and fun, and always has a story to tell. He knows what he is doing. He even threw a generator into our lighting package at the last minute, at no charge, when he realized our lighting setup was going to need an extra boost. We did have a problem with the rentals delivery. It was based on a six-month old copy of our order, so certain items were missing. Luckily, our order had not changed much in those six months, but a last-minute delivery of missing items was necessary to serve drinks and wedding cake. Although the team delivered those items on time, the order should have been updated. It definitely made the reception setup more stressful. Overall, a positive experience and I would recommend Henry and his team to any couple looking for rentals at their wedding. read more

This review is way overdue, but the team at event magic (especially Henry) was awesome and they deserve some recognition. I worked with Event Magic for my July '10 wedding. Not only were Henry's prices and customer service way way better than anyone else but never once did I feel like he was jacking up the price because the rentals were for a wedding (and if you've ever planned one, you know that that;s almost always the case). Henry was friendly and helpful. He really went the extra mile to make sure that we got everything we needed and stayed in constant contact with us. And when we decided to rent a dance floor at the last minute, he was such an awesome guy that he gave us his largest dance floor for the price of his smallest. I would absolutely recommend working with Henry and Event Magic, they seriously have everything you could need and they're even nice guys who won't over charge you. Imagine that :) read more

These guys were so disorganized and unhelpful that I decided to write here. I called the day before to reserve some equipment and the guy said, "I'll check inventory and give you a call back today." No call. No call the next day. I go in there on the morning of my event, and the crew is just clueless. Major "not like" from me. read more

We contracted with Event Magic to rent a P.A. system for an outdoor press conference. Their rates were very competitive and listed in a published rate sheet. The Event Magic crew showed up on time, with all the necessary gear. They worked with us on placement of the microphones and speakers and took extra care to ensure that the speakers were anchored with sand bags and that all cables were covered in duct tape for safety. Breakdown was similarly fast and efficient. Overall, it was hassle free and we could not have been more pleased. Highly recommended. read more

My husband and I were looking for a party, equipment rental company that could turn our backyard into a Parisian cafe for our wedding reception. We had a vision of what our party should look like but Event Magic made it a reality. They delivered and set-up all our white: round tables and umbrellas, padded chairs and a tent, lighting, food and beverage "skinny tables", and linens. In addition they delivered our glassware, water pitchers, hot water and coffee makers, and chaffing dishes. Event Magic was able to maximize our space to accommodate 100 guests, and light up the darkest areas of our yard with their "bridge of white lights". They suggested nice touches like the water pitchers, and threw in our painted backdrop for free. Event Magic is dedicated, customer service oriented, and like family. They will not disappoint you! read more

Henry and Event Magic rock! Our non-profit co-op preschool was having a fundraiser and he gave us a deal so great it felt too good to be true. And they weren't just on time, they were EARLY. This fundraiser is always stressful for the parents of our school but thanks to Henry, we will never worry about equipment rentals again. read more

mike and team are completely awesome. even though i only rented chairs and an amp for our wedding ceremony from them last year, they were super detailed in handling arrangements and load in/out. i completely agree with other reviewers who said that mike makes you feel very important, no matter how small the job. their prices are also super fair. love event magic! read more
