Daniel Bretzke was great to work with. He is very patient and understood what we wanted and needed. He made the right recommendations to make this wedding a memorable one. If there was a zero star here, they world deserve that. They were uncooperative and left us feeling racially discriminated after spending almost $3,000 foir their service of renting us chairs. There were 2 ppl picking up the chairs and only one guy did all the work while the driver just smiled at me when I asked then to please move their truck. I even said I was the one that rented all these chairs and he smiled and said "THATS NICE"!!!. They didn't even have to stack the chairs and took their sweet time over two hours to load up their truck with about 10 dollies of chairs. They pushed about 10 feet onto a liftgate and sat in their truck after preventing over 10 vendors you unload out of the building. read more

They were so thorough in placing our rental order for our wedding. However, even after charging us surge pricing for weekend pick-up, they neglected to pick up our order until an entire day later, even after we waited for them for 3 hours to show up and called and left a voicemail. We repeatedly confirmed that we needed the rentals to be picked up by Sunday at 11am or else the venue owner would charge us for another day and needed the site cleared so they could set up for another wedding. When the rentals were picked up on Monday afternoon, we called Event Magic, only to find that no manager could speak to us. We asked that they email or call us so that we could discuss this major oversight and have received no response since July 29th. Do not recommend, highly unprofessional. read more

From initial contact all the way through the completion of my event David was an absolute pleasure to work with. I've used this business three times Funeral repast, Social events and fundraising events. I have no problem with the the service or equipment, but the last time I used them they charged me a $50 dollar penalty because the venue I used was closed when they came by to pickup the equipment! Henry Perez and Event Magic made our dream come true! Our wedding theme was rustic elegant, and family fun. It was that and more. From start to finish Henry was warm and open to our process. When it came to execution he was thorough, efficient, helpful, and overall an asset to our wedding planning process and to our actual day. Every little detail was beautiful! The bar set up and the extra decor to tie our theme together, was a part of the magic. We love Henry Perez. I also want to give a special shout out to Elsi who provided great florals and decorations, and to Henry's lighting guy, Luis, who helped to create a great night under the stars- under the CLEAR TENT. The string lighting, the purple uplighting, and the chandelier was a hit! It was truly a wonderful night under the shimmer of light and stars. Called up Event Magic to rent a table, chairs and some glassware for a dinner party. They were very agreeable at first and worked with me on the price, since I could not pick up or drop off the items. However, when I got the table, one of the legs was broken and falling off. Not wanting the table to fall into one of my guests' laps during the party, I took it upon myself to buy a screw from the hardware store and repair it. I called Event Magic notifying them of this and they said they would reimburse me for my trouble. During the party, my guests and I noticed that several of the glasses were dirty (things stuck on the inside, lip gloss, etc) and therefore unuseable. The next day, I called Event Magic and left a message (my call was ignored this time) detailing all of the above. I never received a call back. I am dissapointed in their services and would not recommend them. read more

I've received party help from EventMagic on several occasions and they've always come through for me in a pinch, and at a price that meets my budget. They once delivered a video game arcade & backdrops to cover up the unsightly in my garage, which kept kids ( of all ages) out of the way of adults in the house and happy for two wonderful days... These guys are very professional, and the results are amazing. My wedding was planned to be a dinner party in an outdoor patio. Weather reports for the week showed rain looming the day of the event. I called Event Magic on Monday, and Henry scheduled to meet with me on Thursday before the weekend to scope the venue. This gave me time to make a final decision for a tent just in case the rain never came. Well, 'lucky' for us, rain was eminent. Henry met me and he was very, very professional, and I felt at ease. I am floored at the service we experienced. Our event was scheduled for Friday, December 22nd, from 11-4. I received a call from a driver on Thursday, December 21st at 12:45 pm asking me if I was at South or North Market. I replied, "The event was not scheduled for today and why would you be dropping games off to an event that starts at 11 at almost 1 p.m.?". He said because that's what he was told to do. I explained the games were to be delivered Friday before 11 am. After speaking to the driver, I called Eddie. Eddie was unphased by the mistake. He said, "You must have changed the date.". When I questioned why they'd be dropping games off after an event had started, he said that was their "window". I informed him that the event was never on any other day but 12/22 and that if there was a window of time I would not have agreed to it. (I also have emails dating back to July stating the correct date, time and address.) The driver was at the event space before 9 am on Friday, which was great. They also came to take down by 4, also great. Not so great was the condition of the games. Not expecting them to be in pristine condition, but definitely need to be updated. I just want to give a big shout out to Event Magic!!! I planned a tiki party for my husband's big 40th birthday to be held in our backyard this past weekend. I called about renting the tiki bar from event magic. I actually didn't hear back from them after my original call and then had to follow-up but they apologized and were nice. I had confirmed to rent not only the tiki bar but also china, silverware, linens, chafing dishes, etc. Up to this point everything had been satisfactory at best. The big over the top WOW came when Henry came to deliver the items and looked around the backyard and told me he could make it look "...much more tiki" and they had a lot more great items. He asked me my budget and I was honest that I didn't have much room left after renting the tiki bar etc... He said he would put something together within my budget and make it "really great". Despite that they had a busy schedule that weekend with big festivals Henry came back wtih really incredible tiki items that truly transformed our backyard into a tiki garden. You could tell that Henry is really passionate about what he does and enjoys transforming ordinary spaces. He emphasized that they work with every budget after I commented that they must do a lot of corporate events given the high quality of work. We used Event Magic for our wedding ceremony and reception in Oakland earlier this year and the were indeed Magic! At first we decided to use a different event rental company, but when we were only a month away from the wedding, they were being unresponsive to our emails. With only a few weeks left I called Event Magic to bail us out and from the get-go they were prompt in responding, answered all my questions, and went above and beyond the call of duty. The location we had our wedding ceremony and reception earlier this year was an art gallery, mostly located on the second floor. They had to work with the restrictions of an active gallery and delivered the items during the allotted times and made sure to work with the gallery owners to not be disruptive.
