I jumped at the chance to try this place out because of the reviews of other Yelpers. The restaurant is sitting on the corner of Pelham Parkway and County Road 68 East, across from The Foundry Superthrift Outlet and Dollar General, and next door to TherapySouth. It is a nice sized place and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was helped by Dyron, who seemed like he never knew a stranger. He was so kind to everyone, including those on the phone. I even heard him say, "So we got your dad covered - what can I get started for YOU?" He was excited when he found out I was a "newbie". I love the menu. Each item has some form of "hit" in the name - slappin', crackin', slammin', and more. I ended up with the "Bussin' Burger" and a side of fries to go (since I was heading back to work). The food is cooked upon ordering, so my meal was nice and hot when I left. And I am here to tell you, the name of the burger was totally accurate! It was delicious - seasoned very well, and the perfect amount of toppings. The fries were good, but that burger - so good! No wonder Hit Different is a 2026 Shelby County Small Business of the Year Nominee! They deserve it and then some! Do yourself a favor, listen to the other Yelpers, and head down Highway 31 for an amazing meal at Hit Different! I am going back!

It was a bad…read moreexperience .. the event started late, the food wasn't good, the building had no heat on New Year's Day. Just bad all around. I said never again. Fast forward to this week, 7/2024. It was my turn to pick a place for happy hour. I called SKA last Thursday & asked what time happy hour is? The staff replied "Either 4pm or 5pm until 7pm." I asked her to please find out and I'd wait. In response she asked me what time I planned to come. I told her, 4pm. She responded, "YOU SHOULD BE FINE AROUND THEN." I was baffled and just asked for her name and ended the call ... We went to Courtyard 280 ‍ It just so happened that my friends picked SKA for brunch today, Saturday. I'd resolved that I was going for the company and would put all of my past experiences aside. My food experience had been prior the food truck and brick and mortar. So I was open to giving them a chance. I'm so so glad I did! They refer Saturday brunch as a Day Party. It's on the louder end of the spectrum, which is perfectly appropriate for a day party vibe. There was a DJ ... at some point my friend asked, Are they playing GloRilla?!? lol! I'm a fan so it was fine. Our waiter had great energy and he was attentive. The decor is nice. We ordered the mimosa flight. They were good, 4 flavors - strawberry, mango, blueberry, peach - not too sweet. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were thick (that's how I like them) and well seasoned. The shrimp was plentiful! was not over cooked at all. There was shrimp in most every bite. I'd recommend this. My friend ordered the fried catfish and grits and said she enjoyed it. The biscuit tasted canned - it wasn't needed though. This was a nice experience!
