    Steak. Chorizo. Shrimp.

Really good authentic tacos. Saw this truck parked at the Alabaster Advance Auto store headed home and decided the smell in the air was worth a stop. We all know that the most authentic food comes from most food trucks. I tried the shrimp taco, the steak taco, and the chorizo taco. The steak was okay could have been a little juicer. The shrimp was good I just wanted more flavor from it. The chorizo was the best damn thing smoking. My daughter also had the a pork carnitas taco and I tried that one too it was amazing. You have the option of getting corn or flour tortillas. I prefer flour over corn so that's a plus. Good street tacos come with onion, cilantro and lime. But the protein is normally really marinated or seasoned so I was only a little mad that all of them wasn't bursting with flavor. That sauce tho that they give you as a condiment with send you straight to hell. That shit extremely hot.

Lord almighty these tacos. Gonna be the death of me and I could not be happier about that. Also, as a lover of all things spicy, that mango salsa they give out just ramps it up.

Real street tacos. Food is good every time. Best shrimp tacos in the entire county, but make sure you are loud and clear when ordering

First time it was a Cadillac margarita and this time it was a blue margarita. The drinks are 3.95 for their drink of the week. The chips and salsa is very delicious. I had the chicken chimichanga and cheese dip. Both were very satisfying. They are enforcing social distancing so you aren't seated too close to the other diners. All staff are wearing masks. You must wear a mask to enter the restaurant. I will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend checking this place out.

My husband and I wanted to check out the food before deciding on a caterer, so we went to Maya's one night for dinner. We shared a plate of chicken fajitas. The food was really good and plenty for both of us. They served endless chips and salsa which I appreciated because some Mexican restaurants don't do this. Regarding the catering, we talked with a man named Juan. He was very helpful and gave suggestions of items to get, and told us to call him closer to time to put in the catering order. Later, one thing that was difficult was getting back in touch with Juan because he worked between the Maya restaurant in Homewood and the Maya restaurant in Alabaster. Luckily we were able to speak to him and put in the final order. The day of the party, we had to wait a few minutes before the food was ready, but when we got the food we were amazed at how much food we got! It was an amazing deal. The food was nice and hot and the party goers were super impressed. We had a nacho/taco bar with chicken and ground beef as well as flour and corn tortillas and nacho chips. The toppings included lettuce, guacamole, salsa, rice and cheese dip. There was plenty of food with lots of leftovers. If you are in Alabaster and looking for a caterer, I highly recommend Mayas.

Now let me be honest, when I pulled up and didn't see a line, I got a little nervous. Like is this a hidden gem or am I about to learn a life lesson? But curiosity won. The staff was friendly, no complaints there, but y'all know how sometimes you need that one person to say, "BABY, get THIS!" yeah, I didn't get that kind of guidance. So I went with the fried fish and fries. The fish looked like it was about to change my life. Golden, seasoned, photogenic, all that. Took a bite and it was good but I wanted a little more crunch. That's on me though, because I didn't ask for it extra crispy. Lesson learned: closed mouths don't get crispy fish. Now the fries? Whew. They came through crispy and did NOT play with me. Overall, solid 4/5. I'd definitely go back, just with a special request next time!

I really was looking forward to trying some of their whiting fish, but they were out unfortunately. I tried their catfish with fries, and the dish tasted pretty good. It was seasoned very well and served hot. I really enjoyed their seafood gumbo. This soup definitely reminded me of New Orleans. I would suggest more soup than rice, but it was still delicious nonetheless. All in all, Nawlins Style was pretty good. I'll definitely have to come back when they have some whiting fish. Ohh and just fyi.. they don't have yellow mustard. They only have spicy mustard. So if you want some mustard with your dish, you might want to bring your own.
