Eva's Original Chimneys - 'The Dream Cone', an easy sugar high from Nutella, toffee bites, chocolate, salted caramel and brownies
    Mike H.

Budapest is one of my favourite vacation cities. It's the Paris of the East. Eva's Original Chimneys manages to bring a bit of it to our city! Their quite the rage here based on the long lineups. The GTA is fortunate to have such a diverse community offering specialities from all corners of the world. I tried their 'The Dream Cone', which featured Nutella, toffee bites, chocolate drizzle, salted caramel and brownies on top of soft serve ice cream. It was quite the sugar high! The best part was definitely the freshly baked chimney bread, which soaked up all of that sweet goodness. Eva has an assortment of chimney cones to satisfy your dessert dreams. I was also quite fond of their scene from the Fisherman's Bastion overlooking the Hungarian Parliament Building. Brought back picturesque memories! With Eva's popularity, I almost felt bad for the adjourning vendors sharing the same mall space at Square One. They were literally begging people in line to try their samples too. Summer has arrived so as Peter says, what are you waiting for? Head to one of Eva's locations to enjoy an awesome chimney cone!

I had the Berrylicious. I came in thinking "it's just ice cream" but I completely underestimated the difference a cone could make. The warm, freshly made, sugary cinnamon-roll like cone with cold soft serve was pure dessert bliss. I honestly liked this a lot more than I thought I would. It is very sweet, but I'd personally be happy to cut back on late night ice cream sandwiches in order to have this now and then. Quality sweets are worth the sacrifice. The toppings and sauce went perfectly with the cone, and the amount of soft serve was just right. I never felt like the cone was too dry, which was what I thought would happen as there doesn't seem to be that much ice cream at first glance. Portion size is also very good. Even for an ambitious dessert hunter like myself, the cone was more than enough for 2 people, just because of the sheer sweetness. I didn't even know there were wooden spoons until I was almost done the cone, likely because I was very focused on eating it. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it is a very well made dessert. The flavours are bold, but it works and I know I'm definitely coming back, prob just not before a dentist appointment. I'll be trying the Matcha or Tiramisu next!

Definitely recommended for vegan dessert lovers. We tried a few of their vegan cones and they were amazing. Watching them make one is even more fun. It can be a bit crowded, especially during weekends so we need to factor in some wait time. They also have some gifting options on the other side of the store. If we go further down, they have this counter where you can try (and buy) Japanese cheesecake. We didn't really like it that much but was worth the try. Overall, if you're visiting Square One Mall and up for some sweet stuff, this is the place to be.

THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH! for me this is annoying because I like to pay in cash. I ordered the matcha crush and my mother got the berrilicious. The toppings on the ice cream is very delicious and they also had a layer of the topping inside the cone so after you finish the top there's a little bit more inside and every cone has a chocolate at the bottom that has some sort of filling which I did not like. The matcha sauce was extremely rich and the matcha kit Kat is delicious. Unfortunately I did not like the cone that came with it. it was very Bland and had no flavor I tasted the cone that came with the berrylicious and that one is sweet and coated with sugar if I had that cone I probably would have been happier they do let you create your own cone so I think I would do that next time.

    The mini OG cone

Located right outside of Simon's is Eva's Original Chimney! They offer freshly made chimney cones filled with soft serve and topped with a variety of toppings. I ordered the mini OG cone because I didn't want such a large cone for myself. Perfect single serving size for only around $5! The vanilla soft serve is good - not too sweet. The cone though... made to order, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, and it's still warm when you get it too! It goes really well with the ice cream. The guy working at the cashier was awesome too, super energetic and friendly. Wish they offered a mini size of their other combinations though!

Tiramisu Chimney Cone $9.95 3/5 First time trying chimney cones! It tasted like a mix of churros and a thick, crispy croissant. The tiramisu is very sweet, too sweet in fact, that I grew tired of it a quarter in. It wasn't long before it became a melted, gooey mess

Meaning to take my kid to this place after hearing that it opened in Square One. When we were done shopping thought of taking her at Eva's. As soon as I walked towards the store, we noticed quite a few folks had a chimney in their possession. Not a long line up, but busy and surprisingly they were serving them quite quickly. Stood in the line and noticed that almost 80% of the menu could be veganized - which was a pleasant shock to me. Having gone there to pickup one for the kid, picked up a mini vegan for me as well. An OG mini for me and the Dream Cone with brownies for the kid. The order was quickly served. The mini was actually quite amazing. The softee was smooth and creamy and just enough sweet. There was a slight after taste in the softee, but nothing drastic. The cone was perfectly baked. The outside was crusty and cinnamons and again not too sweet. Not sure if the softee that melted inside the cone or was it under baked, but I felt a soft doughy consistency inside. The strawberry didn't do anything however it was fresh on top and one at the bottom of the cone to prevent the leaking of softee - a neat idea. The other cone was devoured in a few minutes and it was agreed that the item was a hit. Loved the softee ice cream and the cone. The brownie was the cherry on top. Would definitely come back again and try other flavours. A brownie point to the owners to cater to vegans.

I've had Chimneys before but never from Eva's and wow, what a creative, thoughtful and delicious dessert! Best of all, this location brings together a confectionary store (Squish), a Japanese Cheesecake (Love Me Sweet), and Hungarian Chimneys (Eva's Original) all in one store sized footprint. Helllloooooooooooooo Diabetes! or Cavities... whatever comes first. Unlike other Chimney vendors, Eva's has a huge selection of flavour combinations, ranging from plain, rolled in cinnamon sugar to tasty monstrosities with every topping you could ever hope for. The Chimney cone in most cases if filled with a Lindtt Chocolate ball to act as a stopper at the bottom (so ingredients and toppings don't fall out), some ingredients (depending on which flavour you go for) mostly soft serve ice cream, before being topped with more ingredients to match the theme of the cone. The Lindtt chocolate stopper ball was ingenious, my soft serve was melting and not a drop leaked out the bottom on my hands, while the rest absorbed into the dough of the cone! I went with the Tiramisu option and the combination of coffee flavours, lady fingers (for crunch) and soft serve was awesome. Definitely want to come back here again and try other flavours soon Eatcrest out!

Awesome chimney cakes/ Kürtőskalács Trdelník/ This was my first experience with cone and soft ice-cream and I am in love with it totally. The price is just right for the quantity and quality. We tried the maple pecan and the tiramisu options and it was great. However I was a little disappointed with the ladyfinger in the tiramisu lacked freshness and tasted extremely different. A bit of wait time is natural since baking the rolls fresh takes time and it's perfect taste when hot. They also have additional Oreo flavors that seem to be great , will try next time!!

    Oreo white chocolate cheesecake

This is literally diabetes in a cone. The cone is not a typical cone. Each cone are freshly made on a rotating spinner. Like of rotisserie chicken spinning in the oven, except individual cones spinning on its own spinner. The cone has a hint of sweetness but not overwhelmingly sweet and it is made with dough.. It's softer that a pretzel, more like a cinnamon role without cinnamon and easy to break. I got the Oreo white chocolate cheesecake. Where Do I start with this combo. Hmm Oreo cookie on the top then its the white chocolate which is mildly sweet and the cheesecake is what hits your mouth with a power punch of sugar. Also it's a pretty large serving.. Overall, I enjoyed it. It's different. Don't think we have it in the states.

Be prepared with those wetnaps. It will get messy. Interesting concept, almost enough for a meal. They do not cheap out on the fillings. Definitely worth the try!

$10 for a cone is a it pricey in my book, but it is custom made so I guess you have to pay the premium. The wait here for a cone is pretty long because of all that customization that lots of people choose. These cones are pretty messy so it's not the sort of thing to walk around and shop with and eat at the same time. Lots of different options here.

If you haven't gotten a chimney yet what are you doing with your life? Go out there, get one, fill it with ice cream and enjoy your life. This place is so good, whether you get a plain cake or one filled with ice cream you're going to love it. This time I got the lemon raspberry mascarpone chimney and it was amazing. The ice cream and toppings are delicious and the cake/donut cone is unbeatable. The dough is so soft and so good.

Great place to take "the picture"!

This dessert restaurant is no joke, their menu is so massive it feels like it could rival the Cheesecake Factory's (no exaggeration). While most of it is dedicated to desserts, they do offer food options too, but let's be honest... you come here for the sugar rush. We tried a slice of their Red Velvet Cheesecake, and it was rich, smooth, and everything you want in a dessert. We also ordered a loaded waffle topped with brownies, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, and whipped cream, basically a dessert lover's dream on a plate. Both desserts were fantastic and definitely lived up to the hype. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even with such a huge menu, they made great recommendations. If you're looking for a fun spot to satisfy your cravings, The D Spot delivers.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, simply because I'm not big on sweets. The cake is light and spongey and absorbs the leche/milk very nicely, and makes the entire cake very moist. Vastly different in texture to other cakes that rely more on cream and icing to balance the sponge cake. I found this cake lighter and a really unique flavour/texture. It's sweet with flavour that has depth (not just by using more sugar/syrup) and the hints of milk, strawberries, cream, etc all mesh really well. Glad to have stumbled across a new fave and I'll definitely be back to try the rest of their offerings.

The texture of the croffles had a crispiness on the outside which made this dessert delightful to take a bite into. We chose the Honeycomb, Tiramisu and White Chocolate Matcha. We thoroughly enjoyed each flavour but a personal favourite of mine would be the tiramisu. My friend's personal favourite was the honeycomb. We're both not into white chocolate but to our surprise, we enjoyed the White Chocolate Matcha flavour as well. The matcha's earthiness really complemented the touch of sweetness of the white chocolate. The cream on top of the croffle was also rich and smooth. The ice cream was a good addition.
