The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and made my daughter's shopping trip magical. Highly recommend! We traveled a couple of hours to get there, and we are so glad we did!

Unfortunately, when it came time for her piano recital, it didn't fit her anymore. When I took it back to ask for an exchange the woman was very rude, even in front of my daughter. "Nope, I'm just not gonna do that anymore. You can try and go to this seamstress down the street." We went and even after paying the seamstress an additional $40 bucks, the dress was not let out enough. My daughter didn't get to wear it for her recital and I paid extra because this wealthy owner didn't give a crap about a single mom with multiple jobs who was just trying to provide a nice dress for her daughter. When we had been there before, it was younger woman who was much nicer but after this experience, I will never go there again. (The previous dresses I'd gotten her the prior year were also from the clearance rack because that's all I could afford) Snobby and unsympathetic owner.

It turns out that that pleasure is amplified when I shop in person at a store like Eggy. I'd been aware of this store for a while and always figured it was Korean-owned, as "eggy" sounds like the Korean word for "baby." This suspicion was confirmed when I met the owner a few years ago (I'm friends with her cousin, it turns out). I went for the first time last month, to exchange a gift from his Aunty Carol and Uncle Kevin: a soft, adorable sleeper that I wanted to get in a bigger size (they got him a really nice wooden dancing alligator toy too, also from Eggy). The sales lady was very helpful. She found the order and looked for the sleeper, but unfortunately, it didn't come in the size I needed. I returned the sleeper for store credit, which I immediately spent--and then some--and then some more--on a whole fall wardrobe for my son. The store was just so attractive, and so full of stylish, high quality clothes, I went full Pretty Woman on the baby boy racks. I pulled item after item (including a complete three-piece outfit as modeled by one of the little mannequins) and the sales lady brought me everything they had in my kid's size. At one point, I made her look at pictures of him and she--a woman who sells expensive children's clothes to L.A. parents!--said, "You're obsessed." I ended up buying a bunch of clothes, which I realized as I was leaving are likely to go on sale by the time my son is big/cold enough to wear them in a couple of months. My mother would be ashamed of me, but I couldn't resist, and I'll be back to Eggy to get more nice clothes for my beautiful boy.
