I was absolutely blown away how patient and kind she was during the consultation: nothing like anything i've experienced in the past. We talked about my goals and while I originally was planning to get filler & Botox after the consultation, we decided to take it slow and just go for Botox this time. I am extremely happy with my results (masseter muscle Botox for jaw clenching) and wish I would have taken the plunge sooner. My grinding has reduced by probably 90% and my jaw pain has improved so much that I didn't even need to use a supportive bite block at the dentist during my last visit, which I typically need 10 minutes into my exam. I booked a second visit for chin filler and I am absolutely over the moon with the results. It looks so subtle and natural, balancing my side profile exactly where I wanted without losing my cleft chin, which I wanted to keep. Thank you again Christina for all your amazing work!

I am extremely disappointed with Northeast Dermatology Associates due to non-transparent and…read moreunethical billing practices. I scheduled what was clearly a preventative dermatology visit, which is fully covered by my insurance. During the appointment, a nurse briefly asked if she could "relieve pressure" from a very small pimple. I agreed, with zero disclosure that this minor action would re-code the visit as a medical procedure and completely change the billing. As a result, my appointment was billed as a procedure, totaling $509.23, with $432 out-of-pocket -- for something that took seconds and was never explained as billable. Had I been informed that this would convert my preventative visit into a chargeable procedure, I would absolutely not have consented. Aetna confirmed that the provider could recall the claim since no payment has been made yet, but the office refused to do so. They also confirmed that I am not eligible for the self-pay rate (around $300) because of a clinic policy, despite the lack of informed consent that caused the issue in the first place. To be clear: this is not about the individual provider (Ashley Wilson, NP, who has since left the practice). This is about office-wide billing practices that fail to disclose the financial consequences of minor in-office actions. Patients should not be subjected to surprise medical bills because a clinic chooses not to explain billing code implications upfront. This experience reflects a serious lack of transparency and informed consent, and I find it deeply unethical. I am posting this to warn others: if you go here, ask detailed billing questions before allowing anything beyond a visual exam, no matter how minor it seems. I would not recommend this practice based on how this situation was handled.

I really appreciated the emails before my appointment to set up a time and the thorough online medical record I could fill out before my actual appointment. They took my insurance AND they had an appointment within 2 weeks with Dr. Doktor, the board certified dermatologist on site. One thing I really hate about going to the dermatologist- I think it's the reason I waited 10 years- is the pressure to do cosmetic treatments. I don't want to be getting some mole biopsied while someone is trying to sell me Botox and basically insulting my face. It's demeaning and crappy. And I can safely say nothing even remotely like that previous experience occurred at the Skin Center. There are some discrete signs in the lobby and exam room for fillers, but aside from asking me if I wanted to talk about my 2 zits (no), I felt no pressure to do anything but get checked over. The doctor was thorough and really nice and yay, no skin cancer! They clearly treat lots of skin conditions in addition to providing fillers, etc, so it seems a good place for all your skin needs with lots of appointment availability. I 100% recommend them for skin cancer screening. Don't forget to wear sunblock.
