Initial install went well. Then. We had delays with our permit. Which is still not finalized but it is scheduled and should be final within a week. So progress. Al that said, the fact that unexpected issues arise is not the problem with many contractors. The issue rests with how they resolve them. How timely are their responses. Do they value your time spent following up. In this case, related to the delays, EV Electric continued to respond promptly. They did have a hand in the delays we experienced, however, they owned it. They didn't avoid the awkward conversations. They followed through and even looked for ways to make amends. We weren't looking for a rebate or a discount. We simply wanted what we paid for. In the end they appear to be coming through and they stayed engaged in lieu of the delays. All said, we highly recommend. Everyone shines when things are good. Fantastic service, great price. I am pretty capable of handling basic electrical work on my own and have done a bunch of small projects at home. When it came to an issue with some lights that stopped working in my office, I tried to fix it myself by swapping out the light switch but that didn't work and I did not want to make things worse by messing with wiring so I checked Yelp and Reddit to find a highly recommended electrician which is how I landed on EV Electric. Their response time was pretty much immediate, and their rate was super reasonable. Stefan was the electrician who did the job and he was great. The installation went great, or so I thought. I had EV Electric install a Tesla wall charger back in May and they were nice enough to hide the conduit and wire in my attic above the side of my house and then come back down 15' away so I see very minimal amount of electrical on the outside of my house. I paid $340 for an inspection through Sacramento County (paid directly to EV Electric) and I was told that the inspector would reach out within a couple of weeks. This is where the problem starts. It's been three months and I still have not heard from the county or from anyone really about the inspection. I've left three voicemails with EV Electric and have used the Yelp app to ask them to call me back, and emailed them in addition, and no response to anything. Now their business hours on Yelp say they will not be open until January of next year. estimated time, for temporary closure. My next step will be to call the county directly about the inspection, but my guess is that the $340 that I paid to EV Electric has not been paid to them and I will have to pay it again and try to get my money back through this company that is not even open at this point. The electrician arrived on time and offered as part of the service to give an indoctrination on how to use the charger. Customer service and planning for the install was great. The problem is the wall charger was installed early July 2024, and I have no permit. I paid EV Electric $250 for the permit with the city, and EV Electric has not filed or fulfilled their promise with the permit. I've called, texted and emailed the company. The last response was from the owner, Matt, on 7/28/24 indicating they had a problem with the permitter working for them and he is "working on the backlog but it is quite large." They responded very quickly, set up an appointment to perform the when and took care of all the permit paperwork, scheduling SMUD inspection etc so I could get my SMUD EV rebate of $500 towards the cost. They charged me $800, but with the EV SMUD rebate, the effective cost was $300 out of pocket which is super reasonable. Highly recommend using them. read more

Bought an electric car and needed the 40 amp plug installed in my garage. My 100 amp electric panel wasn't robust enough to add on 40 amps, but they had a hardware workaround that made it work.
