The folks at EPG's response, service, and repair were excellent. I scheduled an appointment with EPG to repair my 1985 Porsche Carrera. I had my Porsche towed on a Monday morning to EPG. By Monday afternoon, they called me to get more repair history on my car. Through the week, EPG were in constant communication with me by phone and by email. EPG completed repair in a week, and I picked up my Porsche the following Monday. I am very happy with EPG, and they are definitely my new Porsche mechanic. LOL... I have had my 1985 Porsche for 35 years and my previous mechanics have all retired. As a background information, the engine on my Porsche would just stop running and I would not re-restart until after some time. I had a Porsche mechanic up in Kennesaw who focuses primarily on race cars do the repair back in 2025. They had my car for almost a month and complained that their mechanic were hesitant on working on my car because of mold. Finally, they had it running, but the repair did not hold up. I called the same Kennesaw Porsche mechanic and they basically told me that they were too busy to work on my car. So, I decided to try EPG to repair my car. read more

Since 2001, I've taken my Volkswagen for service at Jim Ellis VW Marietta (now Kuhn VW Marietta), Barry Palmer Auto, VW City, and German Auto Care. I had terrible experiences with Jim Ellis, but found great mechanics at the latter three. Unfortunately, those mechanics moved on and left me searching for another reliable VW shop. Luckily, I didn't have to go far because a simple Google search led me to Eurotech Performance Group in Marietta. I found Eurotech's web site, emailed for some price quotes on basic/regular services needed for my car (e.g. oil change, CV boot replacement, timing belt replacement) and owner Brian Ettl responded promptly and thoroughly. I was impressed with how comprehensive his emails were and scheduled an appointment for my next 5,000-mile service. Eurotech specializes in Audi, BMW, Porsche, and VW. These guys have been around since 1998. Compared to Barry Palmer and VW City, Eurotech's office and garage are much nicer. It's about on par with German Auto Care (clean garage, bays, and whatnot). Ultimately, I'd say it's the nicest, and certainly biggest, of all the independent VW garages I've been to. Then again, that doesn't surprise me because I believe Barry Palmer and VW City's clientele were mostly VW owners whereas German Auto Care and Eurotech's clientele also include owners of expensive luxury marques. I suppose they've got to look nicer for those folks. At the time of writing this review, I've already taken my car into Eurotech 9 times for various services and repairs. I've been very pleased with the work this shop has done to my car. At Eurotech, an oil change for my car costs about $80. That's normal for my car because it has a turbo and requires full synthetic 5W40 oil (VW 502.00 specification). They use the German Liqui Moly brand oil here. CV boots run about $35 per boot and take about 2 to 2.5 hours per axle. A timing belt replacement comes in at just under $1,000 replacing the drive belts, water pump (with a German water pump with metal impeller), thermostat, and G12 pink coolant. Not the cheapest prices around, but I've found the quality of work and parts to be worth it. When I first took my car into Eurotech (April 2015), their labor rate was $92 per hour. As of March 2016, their labor rate had increased to $100 per hour. I was told by Brian that all work and parts supplied by Eurotech are covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles. In some cases, parts are covered for 24 months. Various people have worked on my car over the years: Nick (2015), Errol Tucker (2015-2016, I first met him at VW City), and Will (2016). Brian has been the one constant and has done a lot of work on my car too. Work Eurotech has done to my high-mileage car include: * Front left and front right upper forward and upper rearward control arms replacement. Old control arms torn. * Cam chain tensioner gasket and valve cover gasket replacement. Oil and transmission fluid leak. * Drive axle seal and front outer CV boot replacement. Boot torn (a regular occurrence on my car). * Crank position sensor replacement. Hard starting, EPC, and CEL lights diagnosed. * Front and rear brake pad and rotor replacement. * Breather system replacement. Breather hose had dry-rotted and crumbled away. * Upper radiator hose replacement. Coolant leak. * Turbo outlet (boost) hose replacement. Oil leak. * Spark plug and ignition coil replacements. Cylinder misfirings. * Fog light grill replacement. Brian and his crew have been terrific about helping me prioritize what work needs to be done to my car. They have never tried to sell me or pressure me on any work that was not a necessity. They also are great at answering all of my questions whether it is in-person or over the phone (I am a curious guy so I have a lot of questions). These guys are no-nonsense and simply honest, reliable, and dependable. All work to my car has been done in a timely manner. There were times at Barry Palmer or VW City where my car wasn't seen for the entire day even though I had dropped my car off at the shop early in the morning and had made an appointment. The guys at Eurotech do a fantastic job sticking to their appointment schedule. Brian (and in the past, Tommy) have been good about emailing me quotes and pictures. For the leaks described above, Brian took pictures of where the leaks were while he had my car taken apart. He emailed the pictures to me. Also, Errol has shown me numerous old parts of mine including my worn-out breather, radiator, and turbo hoses. I like being able to see stuff like that. You won't get that from the dealer. In the end, I am very happy to have found these guys. They know their stuff and I fully trust them with my car. I will be sad when the day comes when I get a new car that is not an Audi, BMW, Porsche, or VW because then I won't be able to get my car serviced at Eurotech anymore. Since there has been a lot of talk about helping small locally owned businesses recently, I thought I would do my own little form of stimulus and give Brian and the guys at EPG a shoutout. After taking my car to the dealer recently and receiving a huge quote for my A6's first major service outside of warranty I decided to take the Yoda like guidance of a friendand give Eurotech a shot. I am certainly glad that I did because not only were EPG's repair prices several grand under the dealer's quote but they by far surpassed them in terms of professionalism and communication. More to that point, they caught an issue that the much ballyhooed factory-trained technicians at the dealership had missed over multiple visits where another shop had errantly trusted computer guidance and installed the incorrect parts on my car a year and a half earlier. This was a fairly major safety issue as it impacted my vehicle's ability to properly... well stop in emergency situations, and one that Brian instantly recognized by sight based on his years of experience with vehicles such as mine. Additionally, as the shop that accidentally perpetrated this mistake is honest this led to them rectifying the mistake by completely swapping out the offending components for brand new ones totally free of charge despite the fact they had several thousand miles of usage on them. While unfortunate, ultimately this will probably save me another grand down the road in costly service, and all thanks to Brian and his teams keen eyes. They say in life you need four things: a good lawyer, accountant, doctor, and mechanic. I would say if you own an Audi, VW, or Porsche product and you take you your car to EPG, you can safely cross one of those off your list. read more

It's been a few years, but Brian has been around forever. I've been away from the European car groups for a while, but haven't been too far from the automotive industry. Brian Ettl has been in Marietta supporting the VW/Audi enthusiasts since even before I was able to drive in the mid-90's. I suppose it's possible that Brian's work ethic and customer service have changed over those years, but it's doubtful that someone can survive this long in such a niche market and still be a potent player. Brian has supported the local scene with performance and maintenance stuff for decades and his reviews online support it. Any time someone asks for VW/Audi service around Atlanta, he's the first shop I recommend. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with their service. We took our Audi TT there because the check engine light was on. They told us we have to replace three parts, we did, check engine light came back on. We took the car back and they said we have to replace more parts, we did it again. A few days later light came back on, we took it to a different mechanic and they advised that the computer was the one that had to be replaced. After replacing it we never had the problem again. We went back to Euro Tech to tell them that we did not have to replace any of the parts they told us too. They were very unfriendly, we were expecting a professional answer and a return at least for the price of parts we did not have to replace. We did not get even an apology. I have a Porsche Boxster and have used Eurotech for two recent repairs. The most recent, I needed a headlight bulb replaced so I called Eurotech. Tommy was great about working me in and ordering the bulb. I arrived at 3:00, Brian the owner replaced my bulb while I waited, thanked me for coming in and charged me a very nominal fee.
