How much does a smog check cost?

We have a 2008 GL 450 and the SRS light came on for no reason? How much to hook up to icarsoft diagnose and clear the fault code? Thanks

Good afternoon, To find out the reason the SRS light is on we will have to scan the fault codes, we only use factory Mercedes-Benz diagnostic equipment. The charge is…

The team replaced the sensor right away and ran a thorough diagnostic check on the rest of the oiling system to ensure everything was running safely before handing back the keys. Prompt, transparent, and expert mechanical service from start to finish!

They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

Platinum Collision Repair - Brand new truck!

If I could give 6 stars, I would…read more I had a mobile dent repair guy attempt to fix scratches someone left on my new car on the bumper and grill and he used matte black (my car is gloss black) when he told me he had the correct paint color... He also broke the bumper clips that ended up being unsalvageable according to Bobby (owner of Platinum). He got overspray everywhere and broke parts that shouldn't have needed to be replaced. So an absolute waste of $500 on top of making the car look worse than it did before he touched it. I have been looking at getting it fixed for some time now and I came across Platinum Collision Repair and saw the great reviews and gave it a shot. When I arrived I saw a bunch of cars in the shop that looked pretty much brand new so I knew I was in probably in good hands. I was instantly greeted by the owner and I showed him the damage. He gave me a free quote within 3 mins of me being there. I took some time to see if I wanted to wait a few months or do it now but after seeing person after person come to drop off their car within 5 mins of me trying to make a decision in the parking lot, I felt that was all the convincing I needed, so I got him to go ahead and do it. I dropped the car off 7-25 (Saturday afternoon) and it was done 7-29(Wednesday morning). He told me Thursday just to be safe and I get a call on Wednesday morning at 9am that it's ready. That's including them ordering a new grill, new bumper and painting. They are closed Sundays and I brought it later in the afternoon on Saturday so really it only took them 3ish days to order the parts, do all the necessary repairs to other parts not being replaced, paint the car and they even washed it for me! These guys at Platinum killed it and the owner Bobby was seriously so helpful and did his best to get me right after getting screwed over and save me as much money as possible. He even buffed the overspray off my headlight for me and it looks like a brand new headlight now. The car now looks like how it looked when it came off the delivery truck a year ago. They did the job for so cheap too! Can't recommend them enough... so much so that my mom is asking me what's the address and telling me she doesn't care that it's over an hour and a half away from her after seeing the results lol. Thank you Bobby & Platinum Collision Repair Crew!

Very Disappointing Cadillac Service Experience…read more I am extremely disappointed with Cadillac's customer service. My vehicle has been in service for three days without a clear update or a loaner vehicle. I've had to rely on Uber to get to work, pick up my children from school, and take them to their activities, causing significant inconvenience and extra expenses. I expected much better service from a luxury brand like Cadillac. Unfortunately, I've received better customer service from Kia. Cadillac should provide a luxury experience, not just a luxury vehicle. Very disappointing and far below my expectations.

My husband did some research, called around and we took the vehicle to Christian Brothers Westchase (Tampa, FL). Turns out the water pump, which is built into the engine in this vehicle, so the labor costs are astronomical. The Flex was sitting at 141,000 miles so my husband decided to ask Christian Brothers Westchase to handle the 150,000 mile maintenance. All the parts would not arrive in time so we left the vehicle in Tampa and drove home my mom's vehicle instead. My parents had plans to drive through Atlanta a couple weeks later and could trade out vehicles at that time. When the Flex returned back to Marietta it didn't sound the same to me, the primary driver. As a busy working wife and mom to three, although it sounded noisier the vehicle was running fine so I didn't make it a priority to get it checked out. After school released, we drove to Orlando in early June 2021 (less than two months later) and the Flex started driving funny. Next think I know we're stranded on Western Way (behind Animal Kingdom) with my three kids and parents at 8pm on a Sunday night. An Uber delivered my mom and kids to our resort while my dad and I waited for a tow. We paid extra to get the Flex to Christian Brothers Clermont since that was the company who most recently did previous work. I was told this time it was a failed fuel valve (evap purge valve). Again, I drove another vehicle back to Marietta. I spoke with someone and described the louder than previously normal engine noises so it could be addressed before pick up and was told it didn't sound like anything was wrong. I drove roundtrip from Marietta to Clermont and back all in one day to return the borrowed vehicle and pick up my Flex. It still sounded loud to me but again was back to driving fine otherwise. All this time, since before April, the check engine light on the Flex would come on and go off randomly. The shops would clear the code when it was in, and it would eventually go off...then come back on. Needing to get emissions checked on the Flex, about mid-summer, I drove by Christian Brothers Acworth and they ran the code. This time I was told it was a catalytic converter, this was surprising since one was replaced in 2018 and one in 2019. We took it to the shop that did the work in 2019 to get the catalytic converter replaced. This did not solve the check engine light problem. I reached back out to Christian Brothers Westchase wanting them to take a look at the Flex again, to see what was causing the noise and check engine light. I offered to drive back to Tampa since my kids were still on summer break. I was instructed to visit the closest Christian Brothers location to our home, which happens to be the Smyrna location. Christian Brothers Smyrna got off to a rocky start. Trying to schedule Flex drop off was complicated, my husband and I had to juggle our work schedules to live with one vehicle. The Flex was at the shop for three days, when we thought work was getting done, but then were told the technician got covid and had been out for the week. The second time the Flex was at the shop for three days, they insisted other work needed to be done. My husband approved the additional work but then we were not charged when that work did not fix our problems. Trying to schedule for the Flex to return to CBS, I had reached my wit's end while on a phone call with Stephen at CBS and he offered me a rental. The plan was for Christian Brothers Smyrna to re-do the entire timing chain job that was previously done by Christian Brothers Westchase in April, at no cost to us. The Flex stayed with Christian Brothers Smyrna for over two weeks. In the mix of the timing chain job, we were informed the second catalytic converter was bad. Over the months, we learned that the catalytic converters would fail over time if the timing chain was not on correctly...and I was also told a bad timing chain job would cause the fuel valve to fail (our June issue). CBS also replaced the catalytic converter at no additional labor cost to us. Since each Christian Brothers location in independently owned, the Smyrna location tried to work with Westchase to split parts and labor expenses (since the initial fault falls on the bad timing chain job done by Westchase) and continued to express disappointment in working with their sister store. The Flex problems caused much stress and headaches over the months, we're so happy to be done. Stephen and his team at Christian Brothers Smyrna definitely went above and beyond to right the problems for us. I cannot recall their names now, but the sweet woman who always answers the phones and another gentleman who works in the front office were always so kind and helpful even though I'm sure they wanted to run for the hills every time they saw me. We appreciate Christian Brothers Smyrna for the dedication they have to their clients.

I appreciated the ease of scheduling an appointment and the idea of receiving updates by text message. I was also excited about the potential of the digital estimate to make the findings clear and help me make informed decisions. Unfortunately, the actual experience left me highly disappointed. I brought my 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche in because it was losing power, hesitating and periodically stalling. I understand it is an almost 20-year-old truck with nearly 300,000 miles. That made a thoughtful diagnosis and practical repair plan especially important to me. Instead, I received a $16,314.24 estimate without a clear explanation of which confirmed fault was causing the stalling. The estimate lists numerous replacement recommendations, but it does not provide the actual trouble codes, test measurements, or a clear connection between the findings and the problem I brought it in for. Purely visual inspection. For example, the estimate recommended $2,629 in catalytic-converter and oxygen-sensor work, including four oxygen sensors. It noted an installed oxygen-sensor fouler, but did not document backpressure readings or sensor-test results explaining why all those replacements were needed. Another $6,642 was recommended for a rear differential assembly, even though the notes described "potential" bearing failure, "possible" additional issues, and the need for further evaluation. Those recommendations deserved an explanation of what was confirmed and why full replacement was the appropriate solution. Then called to add additional brake diagnostic fees even though as stated on the receipt that was covered in original diagnostic. What disappointed me most was the lack of apparent effort to help me work through those decisions. There was no clear, staged plan explaining what needed immediate attention for safety, what would address the stalling, and what could wait. I also wanted a reasonable discussion of whether other major concerns made investing thousands in this truck impractical. I was not asking anyone to predict the future--just to help me make an informed decision. Getting even an explanation was difficult. The response was essentially, "There's a lot here--when are you coming to pick it up?" When I pressed for details, the person I spoke with seemed surprised and said they would call back. After another day passed, I had to follow up again. I spent approximately $400 on a diagnostics that ended up being a very expensive visual experience real testing or no test drive was performed to investigate my driving complaint. If safety concerns prevented that, I deserved an explanation of why and what alternative testing was done. I was also asked to authorize a separate brake diagnostic even though brake-component failures were already listed in the initial diagnostic notes, without a clear explanation of the additional testing. The scheduling and digital tools offered a promising start, but they were not matched by the communication, care, or problem-solving I expected. I left feeling that the shop was more interested in having me collect my truck than helping me find a sensible path forward. An older vehicle still deserves a careful diagnosis--and its owner deserves clear answers.
