Hate to write this review but Nevin pushed me to a limit. He is not only incompetent but unprofessional and shitty person. I have been using him for last few years as its close to my house but had problems every single time. The way this biz works is he charges labor charge per hr and parts are separate. He gets kickbacks on parts (30-40% of the price) so keeps on replacing parts w/o diagnosing the problem. First time he charged $2.5K but prob did not resolve, asked me to go to dealer. Dealer said he replaced wrong parts and ended up paying him more. Second time some small part broke, he said needs to replace $2K of part and I pointed that he could replace the part instead. Recently I took the car for a shock problem. As usual he starts replacing parts, first motor then shocks and the problem is still there. I take it back and he doesnt look at it for months. Then he says he needs to replace another part and I asked him to show why he needs to replace. He got pissed and asked me to take the car and sue him. I just sued him in court and won the case. He tampered my car to get evidence for the court, stole docs from the car so i don't have evidence, but still lost the case. I went to his shop today to give him one last chance to fix the car instead of paying me and he curses me saying i will fall sick and spend all that $ on hospital. Such a shitty person If you have not seen the pattern with him replacing expensive parts, maybe now you will. read more

I have brought two of my BMW's (a 1998 Z3 and a 2013 135iS) to this shop during the past couple of years. Nevin and his mechanics have provided me outstanding repair service at a reasonable price. Repairs have included spark plug changes, valve cover gasket changes, water pump replacement, oil and filter changes, brake fluid flush, coolant flushes and coolant tank replacement. Good prices but horrible quality of work. Came here for a new water pump a while back. Whoever installed it broke my rear coolant transfer pipe O-ring. Also, instead of using a proper gasket, they made one using gasket maker which started leaking soon after. Ask them to replace my oil level sensor, instead they replaced my thermostat for $130. Check engine light vacuum leak repaired 3 times, keep throwing parts at it and clearing error code at $120 a pop. Do not bring your car here! read more

During the Covid-19 Pandemic when all businesses were closed, I needed car maintenance that couldn't wait because I have two "essential service" jobs. Neven was able to schedule an appointment to accommodate my schedule and he made the necessary repairs for me right away. He was considerate and I was so relieved! Two guys in this shop. Nevin (the only reason there are two stars) is okay. Only my wife has dealt with him, and she thinks that he's knowledgeable but is not a big fan of him. The other guy Laslo is a total idiot - does the bare minimum, overcharges you for sure, and is full of attitude. There are quite a few other repair shops out there with better service and the same, if not lesser, prices. If you do decide to take your car there, do insist on talking to Nevin. Though their rates are exhorbitant, that is the case with most european repair shops, but even if the rates were half that, Laslo isn't worth it. read more

I've come to European Auto since '05 with an E36 & an E39. Nevin is the owner, and the sole person you should speak with if, and when, you decide to finally take your vehicle here. The best time to reach Nevin is between 10 & 11 am. I can understand what some of the lower ratings are about. Maintenance with German vehicles is ridiculous, we all know this; but that's what comes with driving a machine, that even stock, is built to out-preform everything else on the road. Now if you were to goto Steven's Creek BMW, Mountain View's Dinan, or if you started looking further north on the peninsula, then you'd immediately notice that you were being over billed for any service. This is just one more area that European Auto outperforms it's competition. Now focusing back on the more important issues, such as honesty, integrity, and knowledge; Nevin is a very experienced mechanic, and he will be direct with what you need and what you don't need. This isn't the type of establishment that will push you into buying anything you're uncomfortable with. They will let you know if anything is wrong with your machine, and when they fix it, it will be fixed. He went out of his way to make sure my car was in and out the same day and to make sure I got the best deal on parts. What makes me appreciate this shop so much is even when problems arose that weren't even really their fault they went above and beyond to make it right and I still got the car back even though it was a Friday. We've been coming here for years for my mom's car. Nevin is nice and very knowledgeable . He works fast and does a very good job. After I bought my car, I've been coming here too. Whether is for regular oil change, parts upgrade, or repair. Way cheaper than other places without sacrificing quality. They definitely know their German cars. Very easy to contact. They are very responsive to phone calls and super easy to make an appointment. I had to get my code read for my car a couple of times and Nevin did it for free. And I didn't even end up doing any repairs. Recommended this place to all my friends who drive German cars. read more

I've been coming to Neven for about 10 years and he always does a great job, reliable with not too expensive parts and labor. I'm the woman that asked for a pre-purchase inspection of "Nic's", the earlier reviewers, pristine looking BMW. I had agreed to purchase "Nic's car pending the inspection which I paid for. I've always done this before purchasing used cars because often the cars aren't as represented. I looked for a shop near "Nic" and found European Auto Performance on Yelp. I spoke with the business owner and his technician and both were very professional. I asked the owner to send me the report and to call to discuss it with me when he finished.He called and did just that. I opted not to buy the car.The business owner has listed many of the items found during the inspection in his response to "Nic's" review. They are not minor repairs as "Nic" claims in his review. When I notified him by text, he responded saying the repairs needed were minor and accused the business owner of trying to get business. I didn't respond to his text because he was obviously upset that the deal fell through. I am grateful that European Auto Performance kept me from buying a car that needed alot of work and was not in excellent condition. "Nic" is just trying to disparage this business because I didn't buy his car and that's not fair to this professionally operated repair shop. read more

I notice my ML430 makes noise when the wheel was turned. Power Steering oil was low. Took it to Nevin and I told him I didn't have time to fix it that day. He filled in the power steering liquid for FREE. I love this place. This is the kind of service that bring loyalty out of me. I bet dealer won't do that. read more

These guys are great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk with. I brought my overheating Jaguar in at 8:30am and was out with a new thermostat 3 hours later. They recommended I get it in soon to find and fix a minor coolant leak they spotted, so I'll be going back tomorrow morning. No nonsense shop they diagnose and fix high performance cars. My BMW coolant hose was broken, spent $120 for repairing at the shop because the shop is close to my work. 3 days after the repair, the coolant leaked again at the same host. This time I went to BMW dealership, and they found that the hose was not installed properly to cause the seal ring on the hose broken. The BMW dealer has to replace the host again for $140. I went back to this shop with the hose of broken ring. The owner had a bad attitude, tole me that BMW parts should be blamed, because the ring is too big. He only refund me the cost of the hose, since he could return the hose to where he had ordered. There was no refund on any labor and coolant cost. A very bad experience! read more

I went to the shop to get the oil leak diagnosis and repair. They replaced my radiator. I went into the shop with a working AC and when I drove to my work I found that the AC is not cooling. On taking the car back to the shop they found the AC belt is missing. I paid two times for the same AC belt. They forgot to put the AC belt 1st time and charged me in BOM the first and second time within a few weeks time frame. Also due to missing belt AC tensioner etc had to be replaced. I had to pay almost two times for the bad job done on car and for their mistakes. read more

Not only is he extremely knowledgeable with Volvo, BMW and Mercedes, he gives so much of himself when a customer walks in. We have had all our four cars serviced by Nevin and his fantastic team during the last ten years. We will not trust our cars to anyone but Nevin, Lazlo and the rest of the team of fine mechanics. He is reasonable, honest. So many times we have stopped by with a minor repair. Not only does Nevin do the job right then and there, but many times he will not even charge us for the excellent customer service. If mechanics could receive a university degree, Nevin has a PhD! Furthermore, they tried best to save money for customers, because the initial invoice price was much higher than the final charge. 1. Charged me upfront full cost to order parts. A red flag which I disregarded. 2. Never called to let me know that car is ready or parts have arrived. I had to call to check status. 3. Charged me full list price for parts even though he gets a nice discount from the dealer. I do not know for sure if mechanic is allowed to do that. Or whether he pays taxes on those "profit" markups. Yes when asked he claimed the markup as his "profit". 4 Quote for parts was $72 lower than what I paid on a $200 part. Overall nasty experience. He is a fraud. Avoid if at all possible read more
