I should have read the other reviews before stopping in here for a pedicure. The only positive is that it is super convenient, located on the bottom floor of the mall, near Macy's. However, if you have the time to go somewhere else, I'd recommend that you do so. I kind of felt unwelcome from the moment I walked in. I did not have an appointment, but I signed my name on the front tablet and waited for someone to address me. They didn't really say hi, just told me to go pick a color, but didn't even tell me which wall to look at for the service I had requested. When I did get over to the correct nail polish wall, it was completely disorganized and looked a bit of a mess - with many bottles almost empty and no rhyme or reason to the color organization (basically just bottles thrown on the wall haphazardly). I was told to take a seat in a pedicure chair, and then no one came over to me until about 10 minutes of sitting there. It was strange that no one even said anything or apologized for the wait. When the pedicure finally began, the water was barely lukewarm, and clippings from the woman next to me's toenails were flying over to my station (again, no apology). I came in to get a fill and gel polish change. I had asked for french tips with pink instead of white, and nude/natural color for the rest (to cover the white tips). The tech had a really hard time with this, and kept sighing and even said they were ready to be done with them. I also was hit with a moving drill bit on my finger -- which I get accidents happen but they didn't apologize at all. I honestly was too afraid to say anything because the techs weren't very kind to the customers.. one customer came in and asked to have one nail fixed, and the tech was quick to say no and that they would not be fixing it. Another customer came in and asked if there was any availability and a tech from the back of the room screamed "NO" quite loudly. The rest of the techs all chimed in to say that they were busy. I knew the reviews were bad, but I was stuck at the mall awaiting a phone repair and couldn't resist the lure of a pedicure. At $35, I'd say it's an average price for a pedicure with below average service. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I wouldn't say it was a horrible experience, just extremely brief. Something to keep in mind if you're in the market for a mall visit. The salon itself is pretty and I'm hopeful their tools are clean given the overall aesthetic and the bevy of sterilizers in the rear of the shop... fingers crossed -- pun intended. read more

Lesson learned, read reviews before you go and no lore nails. Last Sunday I got my manicure done. I asked for tips and french manicure, round shape The lady that gave service was not in a good mood and was bothered when I asked to cut the tips a bit shorter and overall seemed like a nuance to her End result was crooked nails, excess powder residue, glue on my skin, etc. When she applied the last coat she just walked away and left me there, no lotion or cuticle oil. I walked into the nail salon today at Ross Park Mall. My 5 year old daughter loves getting her nails done. When I walked in I was asked what service I wanted. I informed them that my daughter wanted her nails done. I was told at first I should come back in an hour. Then the gentleman working there stated he could do it but it has to be the Gel nail. I told him I didn't want my 5 year old to have Gel nails just regular polish. He sat down and said he couldn't do it. I asked him if I wanted my regular nails just polished you wouldn't do it. Then another worker yelled from the back stating that they only do gel nails for kids because they might not sit still. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!! I have never gotten fake nails before, but I was about to go to Vegas for the first time and thought id treat myself and make them extra pretty. I got a mani pedi. The pedicure was fine. Also I did notice some things like the attachable jet was a little dirty looking and they were not opening up sterilized bags of tools, rather just going in their drawer and fetching them. So how do I know they were properly cleaned? But anyways what really bothered me was the manicure part of my experience. I had a lot of questions. I initially went in for a gel manicure and wanted to lengthen my nail. They tried to upsell me to the dip, I asked what it was or how it was different and they said "it's different" great....no information at all. I stuck with my original plan and went for gels. Then she starts putting acrylic on me....I didn't know this until afterwards when I went to a different salon and asked questions about it and realized. I wouldn't have minded but they charged me for gel. I ended up paying WAY over what I expected and even had to go to another salon to get them shaped correctly because they were uneven. I kept trying to ask questions bc I had no clue what the benefits or differences between any of the different types of nails are and they just kept trying to upsell me. But that is not even the part that bothers me the most. Today I got my nails removed. After my experience with them, I decided it would be smart to do some research on this process as to not get walked all over again. One video in particular spoke about the difference between MMA and EMA acrylics. MMA is illegal acrylic because of the destruction it does to your nail and the difficulty of removing it. EMA is a little more expensive for the salon but LEGAL. I got my nails removed and immediately the technician told me it was MMA acrylic. Just so you know what to look for, if anything is gooey or gunky or dries quickly outside of the acetone, it's MMA. EMA is flakey and easier to get off and causes less damage. Now my nails are RUINED. I have never been the kind to post a bad review and usually just cut my losses and learn for next time but I trusted in them and tried to ask as many questions and make an educated decision and they took advantage of me and charged me way too much. My sister in law and I came here because we couldn't the actual nail salon we were looking for, and truthfully, we should have just kept looking. My sister in law's pedicure was completely finished before mine even started, so there was a huge part of the bonding experience. I sat in my chair for about 20 minutes, my selected nail polish was moved by someone, and the nail technician who was supposed to do my nails sat down and went to the cash register. She never came back. After flagging down someone else, the new nail technician asked if I wanted my eyebrows done. Really? I know they're supposed to upscale, but I had my eyebrows done at a nice salon a week prior. My nail technician didn't feel that it was necessary to exfoliate my feet - I actually did it myself when I got home. She generally didn't communicate with me unless she was trying to sell me an additional service that I hadn't signed up for. The only reason this place got two stars instead of one is because my fingernails turned out nicely. My toenails chipped two days later. Definitely not worth nearly $70. They're great. Really. Clean. Do a good job. Massage you well and scrub everything. They're expensive for myself but it's in the mall so I imagine the overhead is a lot more. But when they charged my $20 to put paint on my 3 year olds nails that took all of 5 minutes I about lost my damn mind. She likes to come with me when I do my nails. She is so great and sits with me and doesn't cause any problems. But $20 for a paint job that takes 5 minutes and is going to be peeled off by her the next day is insane. It's not like they cut her nails and filed and did the whole shebang. I've been to other salons where they did take the time to pamper her, put individual jewels on, and only charge $10. Sorry but I will NEVER come back here.... To sum up what happened.. 1. The person who did my toes actually farted and it smelled so gross I almost left. 2. The other person who did my acrylic nails made me put my fingers in heat which burned my fingers and she said "yes it will burn your fingers" with a smile on her face. I never had anyone require me to put my acrylic nails in high heat. She also cut one of my fingers to where I was bleeding and didnt even say sorry. 3. Very limited color options for regular polish. 4. Unwelcoming environment with coy, bossy staff. 5. Dirty .. messy environment.. made me put my hands over paper towels used by the customer before me with their glitter and nail dust all over it. There was so much dust and dirt at the drying station and im pretty sure some of those blue bulbs at the drying station needed changed. 6. My nails are very uneven and will need to be reshaped at another salon. I wish I read reviews before coming here.. another review shared that they use an illegal type of acrylic!! 7. Don't listen to what you want on your nails that you are paying for (overpaying for). Also the only thing they can do is a solid color and they can't even do that well. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I went there strictly for the convenience and it had just opened, so I knew I would not have to wait. I was quoted a price for a regular manicure and pedicure. The girl told me to pick a color. The selections were disorganized and as I was trying to pick out a color, the tech yelled, I'm ready! I should have just taken my time, since I thought, I was the customer! But, no I picked a color quickly and hurried back to the tech. She seemed to have an attitude from the moment I sat down. She didn't understand why I didn't want to get the gel manicure which I gave her my explanation. I asked if they had a lighter shade of blue which I had selected, and she abruptly told me, that is all they had, but had more selection with the gels. She asked me if she put the color on my toes, if I was going to make her take it off if I didn't like it. Again, I thought I was the customer! Well, since I really didn't like the color, it looked black, I told her I think I would like to pick something else. I got a heavy sigh from her and she started talking about me to her coworker how I just couldn't make up my mind. When I finally found a color I liked, I told her I didn't appreciate her talking about me with her friend, which she denied. I asked why she was so angry with me (again, the customer) and she said I just couldn't make up my mind and was going back and forth with her! I told her she rushed me and she said she didn't. Sorry, I didn't meant to go on and on, and really she is not worth it. I am just mad at myself for not getting up and walking out or asking for someone else to do my nails. I even gave her a tip, which makes me more mad at myself!!! I have never seen someone so rude working in the service industry. Also, when the bill came, it was more than I was told. I have been going here for over 10 years. The service has declined. I'd like to provide feedback to the manager of this location: 1. Could we have a suggestion or feedback box in the salon? 2. In the back where you dry your nails, there is piles of dust and dirt collected by the outlets, the magazines, and behind the pedicure chairs. 3. Disinfect and clean the area where people place their hands to dry their nails frequently in the back. Also clean the warming gloves on the inside, the LED curing lamp and the pedicure chairs. These need to be disinfected from the previous person. 4. Tell your staff to stop being so rude and talking about their client to other employees while they are working on their nails. We may not fully understand what you are saying but we know when you are talking about us. This has happened continuously for a decade. 5. Tell your staff to stop being pushy with up selling like getting gel or dip if we didn't ask for this service. 6. Train your staff to do nail art and not just flower designs on one nail. 7. The work has been very sloppy and not clean. At the end- you see bumps on your nails, bits of paint on your skin, streaks because of the top coat, nail polish not on the edges, and sometimes there are bubbles in your pedicure polish. Ann's quality of work has been going downhill when she does a gel French mani and pedi or when doing regular polish. 8. If you make an appointment please have the technician available at that time. They shouldn't be working on someone else and make you wait for 30 min. This happens ALL the time unless you have the first appointment of the day. 9. The front desk should speak English very well. We always make appointments and there is always a problem (they didn't write your name correctly, they didn't put the correct service down, they wrote down the wrong time or wrong date). Sometimes, we book services for a group of 2 or 3 and ask to be seated next to each other and everyone on the phone says yes no problem but when we get there we never get seated together. We bring this up and the technicians start yelling in their language and make us feel uncomfortable and to avoid more of this we say it's fine. I understand mistakes happen but it happens all the time and the technician blames the client every time. 10. Please tell your technician that they shouldn't be so rude when accepting any tip. I'm sorry but if you provide sloppy service your tip will reflect that. And they shouldn't make a scene on the floor on who you should be tipping and how much. It's up to the client to decide whether or not to tip. 11. Please teach your staff on how to care for nails. They are incredibly rough when filing your nails and it's a painful experience having your gel nails removed. 12. The nail color chart display needs updating. There should be one basket specifically for what you have on the wall for regular polish. Another basket for gel. It is upsetting and confusing when you show your technician what you would like and they always say they can do that but when you come back to get it done they say they don't have that color or that's only for gel nails. 13. It would be nice for your technicians to wear name tags. 14. There should also be a clear process to follow if you are unhappy with the service you received. This is an expensive service and we should all be treated with respect and be in a professional environment. We shouldn't be talked about for speaking up. I'm shocked by all the horrible reviews! I've gone here quite a few times and each time they're really fast and the work is truly good. They're not always super talkative but people need to understand that English isn't their first language. It may not mean they're being rude, they might just be concentrating and not be able to speak well. However they always try and make some friendly conversation to show friendliness. I got really sick there once. I have terrible anxiety and started having a bad panic attack in the middle of the pedi. They all rushed over, offering me water and truly caring if I was okay.
