I finally made it here after about a year of wanting to visit. I came late and was the only one dining at the place. I ordered the mango flavored tea, 1/2 hummus and lamb chops. Tea was about what you would expect from a mango flavored tea. Hummus comes with baked pita chips and the mixture is not as watery as some other hummus in houston, sorta like a paste but still good. The lamb chops were very thick, juicy and prepared to exact temperature. These were the highlight of my visit. At the end of the meal, the owner came by to ask how my meal turned out. Before leaving and paying, I stopped by the bakery counter and purchased a chocolate hazelnut cake and a rugulach (apricot and walnut). Those were both delicious too. read more

I purchased a german chocolate cake for my fiancé birthday here and it was barely okay. I was so excited for him to get his favorite cake and especially after reading the reviews my expectations were a lot higher. the cake was $54!!! and the frosting was so hard You had to CHEW it. what kind of frosting has to be chewed through?? the whole cake was hard and extremely dense and waaay too sweet. the coconut shavings barely evened out the flavor but still was barely edible. we could only have 2 bites before having a tired mouth of chewing and filled with sugar. I would never buy an overpriced cake from here ever again. especially since they aren't worth the money. H-E-B has WAY better quality german chocolate cakes. I regret not going there first. would've saved me a heck of a lot more money. read more

Just came in and to pick up some desserts...So happy to find this place that is so close to my place. I tried the tiramisu and let me tell you, I will not ever want to have tiramisu any other way. Been going here for years. The owner always recognizes us immediately and greets us with a warm welcome and how we've been. We always order hummus because I've haven't had any other hummus better than the ones here. Everything here is basically delicious and fresh. The wife of the owner is an amazing chef and even has a cooking/recipe website. Not only is the food delicious but also the desserts! I always order hummus, moussaka, or Exotic Chicken Souvlaki, or gyro pita...depending on how hungry I am and mood. My boyfriend always gets gyro sandwich with extra meat and sauce because its delicious! The prices are a great deal too! This place is a gem. Shoutout to my friend Zoe for bringing me here. The food here is light, fresh and filling. I got the spinach and cheese pita panini and split hummus and pita chips and a frozen chocolate with Zoe. She got the Greek salad. After failing to parallel park multiple times, this was exactly the kind of nutritious food I needed to calm me down. The panini was amazing for something so simple. The tomatoes, feta and spinach worked wonderfully with the wholewheat pita bread. The hummus was on-point--flavorful, a little salty and great texture and I'm a hummus snob so this is saying a lot. But I think the hot pita chips really drove the meal home. They were perfectly salted and crunchy. Also I liked that they were small enough that you could pop the whole thing in your mouth. We ended the meal with frozen chocolate which was the best decision ever. The drink had chocolate chunks and had that rich chocolate taste that consumes you. You know the chocolate is top quality when it's not overbearingly sweet and retains the deep cocoa taste. Also, fabulous service. The manager was actually very familiar with Zoe and her family so he even stopped by for a chat. I really enjoyed the personal feel. A+ decor. I cannot even begin to express how pleased we were with our visit here today!!! My son is 30 and has Downs Syndrome and did his best to convince me to take him for a hamburger. We instead came here. He & I both LOVED the lemony chicken soup, souvlaki chicken & spinach pita!!! I head non stop "mmmm's" and "I like this". The food was amazing!! That's actually not the best part...the owner waited on us and really hit it off with my son. Made us feel Soooo welcomed and cared for. He even comp'd our meal because he has such a HUGE heart!! I'm so pleased I found this place! Armed with a relaxing interior and superior service, Euro Bakery & Cafe serves awesome Greek food in the midst of Spring. I grabbed an early Sunday lunch with my boyfriend and the two of us were madly impressed with the gyro sandwich. We both ordered our sandwiches with "double the meat" for an extra $3.00 and found the additional cost to be worth it. The gyro meat at Euro is SO flavorful. You'll want double the meat! The gyros here are a little different than the average gyro you would find at another Greek restaurant. Rather than greasy chunks of gyro meat, Euro carves their gyro meat very thin. The meat leaves no oily residue on your fingers either (I know this because i pulled a piece of meat out of the sandwich in order to "test" how greasy it was). The sandwich's pita is also thin and more similar to a wrap than the usual thick and fluffy pita. I honestly didn't miss the bread though. It left more room in my belly for the good stuff: the meat. Great hummus as well! This will be my new go-to gyro spot. **Note: My boyfriend and I were put off by tiny flies buzzing around our food. I gave Euro Bakery & Cafe the benefit of the doubt and didn't let the flies impact the 5 star rating I gave them. If I notice flies again upon my next visit, I will change my rating from 5 to 3 stars despite how awesome the food and service is. Flies are unacceptable. read more

This restaurant is a bit far from where I live. I was lucky enough to come across this restaurant through livingsocial. I was really impressed with how delicious their exotic chick soulvaki was. You can taste all of the wonderful spices they used in their chicken, rice and salad. The taziki and chips were wonderfully flavored as well. For dessert we had their apple pie, really? This place is so on point. The staff is wonderful and friendly, willing to answer any questions I had, including the barrage of questions my friend who came along with me had. She has quite the sweet tooth and couldn't decide what she wanted and the young man behind the counter was so patient and friendly, I wish I had gotten his name so I could post it here. That's not to mention how great their desserts are, holy moley! Everything we tried was delicious and esp the grilled chicken panini and baklava were my favorite. The Resturant is very clean and family friendly. Our kids loved the cupcakes. Owners Adnan and Farah are very accommodating and friendly, you can tell they use nothing but quality ingredients in their food, everything was fresh and healthy. Their bakery menu is to die for!!! I visit here often. The fresh baked pita chips are addicting! You can get them by the bag. These aren't like anything you can buy at the store. Well worth the price. And then the pastry case...omg. The best baklava, lemon bars, brownie, and apple pie I have ever had. A special cake I love is the princess cake. It has a fruit filling and whip cream inside topped with marzipan. Ooohhhhh, amazing. The owners here are always a delight, as well as all their employees. They actually could not be sweeter. The ambiance inside is surprisingly cozy because the center outside has no pizazz... It's not a big, fancy place and I'm pretty sure the owner is the one taking your order. I started with the hummus plate that came with delicious homemade pita chips. The hummus had a nice consistency and wasn't overly garlicky. The gyro had thin strips of meat and was topped with fresh veggies and creamy tzatziki sauce. This is definitely the place to go for your sweets cravings. Cakes and baklava were delicious. Staff was very friendly.

New to the area and stopped by to grab a few desserts. I felt it was a little overpriced for the size of the treats. The eclair was old definitely on the smaller side and filled with chocolate buttercream instead of the original custard. The buttercream was hard and flaky and the pastry was also hard and chewy. I ordered a regular and a chocolate baklava which were good and fresh. The last thing I ordered was a muffin looking pastry which the employee at the counter told me was shortbread crust with chocolate ganache. Well it was all shortbread dough with very little and very hard chocolate ganache. I have not had their cakes which I've heard are good and have not had their food but sadly my hopeful dessert run for my family was very disappointing and a complete let down. read more

It came served on a tiny plate (coffee saucer size) and anytime I'd try and pick some up with my fork, the lettuce would fall off the plate onto the table. Please place the tiny salad on a bigger plate so your guests can enjoy the few bites it offers. When I went to pay, I felt my total was awfully high. My mom and I went to the Euro Bakery and Café for the first time yesterday. I had the chicken salad pita and she had the beef and lamb gyro. I thought the chicken salad pita was amazing - 5 out of 5 stars. My mom said the gyro was good, but she said it wasn't as flavorful as others she has had elsewhere. We split the spanakopita so we could try it. It was good, but we felt it was lacking enough of the spinach and cheese filling; it was just a little bit too much phyllo dough and not enough filling. Otherwise it had a good taste. As other reviewers have stated, the food here is super fresh and the owner is concerned that everything is as it should be. He also checked in on us to see how our meal experience was going. I definitely will be back here again for the chicken salad pita. I highly recommend it. Brilliant food. My first time (of many to come) here, and I am already in love. The breakfast croissant is fantastic, buttery, crispy and delicious. The egg and spinach filling is done to perfection, making me feel a guilty pleasure about paying only $6 for it.
