Came here with friends before the game and the food and service were great. Perfect place to enjoy a burger and drink before the game!

Food was okay. Servers were nice & Attentive. Smokey environment tho. I guess somebody needs to clean the burners or they burned something right before we stepped in. Since the place is so small it can very easily get smokey and difficult to sit in. The food doesn't look good but it tastes alright so if ya really feel like dining in & you're in the area you can give this spot a shot because the food is good and the service is good and the environment is pretty pleasant. They have a good drink menu. A interesting selection of beer. Im a big fan of IPAs, but they didnt have a large selection of IPAs but they have all the other basic beers you could want. As for cocktails, the selection was nice. My girl got the Penicillin which was really good. I would go back to try more of their cocktails. My second visit went a lot like my first. The food as always, was delicious. The service as always, was crap! We got seated right away, but didn't get the condiments or silverware & napkin the waitress told us she would get. The issue is 100% the service and the hospitality. If I wanted to not be attended to, I would stay at home and eat my food there. We asked for ranch twice, we asked for boxes, and had to get up after 5 min to get our own. The waitress seemed like an airhead, so she didn't even notice they WE were tending to our own needs. So we cut out as soon as we could, due to lack of service. I've been to Eureka multiple times now and every time I go I try something new and I swear it's better than the last thing I had. Last night I had the pastrami quesadillas and they were ridiculous! I love the atmosphere and I've never been when there are not people there, which is a good sign. The manager Shoan is wonderful. She walks around and makes every patron feel like she personally welcomed them. The is also awesome! Love this place. read more

The only reason why I am not giving this review one star is because our server was nice and the manager came over to speak to us. This review is a little detailed due to the seating issue. To start my friend and I arrived at the restaurant early and we were seated pretty quickly after checking in with the hostess. We were seated at 6:15 and as we waited we saw two other individuals being sat right next to us at around 6:30. After being at our table from 6:15-6:30 no one came to our table. However, shortly after the two inviduals were seated at their table right next to us; a different server came by to ask if they wanted water. We looked over surprised because we were there for 20 minutes and no one came to speak to us. The two individuals next to us asked to speak to the manager becuase they did not feel comfortable having their orders taken; when they noticed we did not even have place settings on our table. After they informed the manager that they were able to place their order and we were not seen, the manager spoke to us and apologized. But, I looked around and noticed that the server we had, had 7 tables to attend to inside and outside. However, the server that had the table next to us only had two which I felt was not okay and why there was a delay. Onto the food and drinks, the food was okay. My friend did not care for her drink or the macaroni and cheese balls. She actually asked to return the drink because it did not taste well to her. My friend did enjoy the double smash burger. I had the Cowboy burger which was pretty good standard burger. I would probably order To-Go from this restaurant simply because they do not allow the servers to have adequate amount of tables. We observed two other tables that were sitting for long periods of time because of the seating issue. I feel once they resolve this issue, I will be willing to come back. read more

If you can, make reservations the day before for lunch. They only take reservations online. Lunch options for a nice restaurant is scant in this area. Warning, it's right off the landing strip of the municipal Airport, and those little planes are feisty. So it's not a quiet ambiance. Parking can get tight and be sure to read the parking slot signs to avoid being towed. My friend and I met here as a middle zone between our homes. We sat for a good few hours catching up and the servers were still spectacular. We made sure it was at the tail end of their lunch rush though. The service was really attentive, they were very friendly, and accommodating. The food was much better than I had expected. I don't know why I expected worse, lol. My Eureka burger was juicy, and the fries were well seasoned not over salted. (Pictured) My friend had the same but regular. She also had the Moscow Mule and said it was great! Don't come watch sports here!! WORST SERVICE EVER. Staff at bar was so rude. Football Sunday so EVERYONE inside the restaurant is wearing football jerseys and bar lady with colorful hair says "I hate sports." We ask multiple times to get cvs to sports channels and staff replies so rude. Everyone in the restaurant was so hyped for the football games and having a great time and chanting their team slogan and AGAIN RUDE BAR girl says "I don't come into your job yelling." MAAM! We are coming to your restaurant giving business to your restaurant and you're going to treat your customers like that?! If you don't know about sports why don't you educate your staff to be prepared for these days when your business is going to get booming with paying customers? Kindness goes a long way. read more

This place was amazing! The outdoor patio was perfect and the food was so delicious. We were a party of 4 on a Friday night. Appetizers for the table were on Happy Hour menu (truffle cheese fries and fried Mac & cheese balls). The meals we ordered were 1) Fig burger, 2) salmon salad, 3) steak salad & 4) steak salad in a wrap. All plates were clean. Poor takeout service. Poor takeout attention. Takeout order didn't include any napkins or cutlery. Very annoying to create another stop on my route. This should have been obvious to anyone who packed the salad, side of fries and other items. When I asked about eating my take-out order at the bar or table, I was refused. Food: -Crispy glazed brussel sprouts- pretty good, I recommend getting these! -osso buco riblets- they're okay. It was a bit too sweet in my opinion. -bison burger- good, but messy! -fish tacos- pretty good A few spots are available in front, and I believe theres some in the back. Was greeted right away and seated outdoors at a high table. Waitstaff had a welcoming presence and she made suggestions/commentary on the started and entrees selected. Here's where things took a turn. Hold on as I take a deep dive in. Had the bone marrow burger ordered it medium. It arrives and looks tasty...how some ever....it was more rare..red and darn near raw. Sent it back after waiting about 12 minutes for the waitress to return. The 2nd attempt was much better...cooked with some pink. Howeverrrrrrr it lack flavor at all. HOW DISAPPOINTING! I had plans for that burger. Also the burger could've been assembled a bit better...burger, tomato, and onions were slipping and sliding all over the bun. What a mess! I could've endured all of this had the burger been tasty but it was a no go. Waitstaff was very accomodating. Please season your meat offerings EUREKA! Eureka is my favorite burger place in Hawthorne. What I love about this particular location is the fact that it's located next to a small airport. The view of planes taking off and landing in the sunset adds a superb vibe when having drinks and bites with friends. I recommend their outdoor seating (weather permitting) as the string lights and open space relax the dining atmosphere. Eureka carries a huge selection of beer, so I always ask the server which rotating beers are recommended. The top 3 items are the Fresno Fig burger, truffle cheese fries, and roasted Brussel sprouts. As each item carries it's own unique flavor. I have always had great service at this location. The servers are always friendly and attentive. Traci was especially energetic and I appreciated how she addressed my friend and I as "friends". She definitely deserves a shift meal on the house. Great job, Eureka! read more

Shout-outs to Tracie, our wonderful host :) My party of three shared the Brussel sprouts, mac & cheese balls, cauliflower bites (spot-on calamari), and firecracker wings. Yum. The bar food here was surprisingly good. Brussels were perfectly caramelized, mac and cheese balls had a slight kick, cauliflower bites could easily be a vegan replica of calamari, and the firecracker wings were basically buffalo, but I appreciate the piping hot temp when they came out! I ordered the Fresno Fig burger w/ turkey patty instead of beef and it was delicious! I got a side of broccolini instead of fries b/c I consumed enough carbs for the day haha. I even ate my burger open-faced because I was starting to get full from all our appetizers! The goat cheese tasted a bit tart and reminiscent to feta, but it was fine. The spicy porter mustard was a great touch. I enjoyed the fig spread, but wish there was a little more to counter the bitterness and tartness of other sauces and toppings used in the burger. The turkey was my favorite part, I really enjoyed whatever ingredients yall used for this patty! Very flavorful. The turmeric nectar was delicious! I will probably get that again! I also tried one of their seasonal drink specials, watermelon spicy agua fresca, however, it didn't quite hit the spot and I didn't finish it :\ This location is special because it's right next to all the private jets taking off, which is pretty cool to watch and apparently, this is their HQ, so you can count for all their staff to be on point! read more

Horrible service... my son walked in with 2 friends to have dinner after a hike and no one was at the host desk... so they walked in and instead of being greeted.. they were stared at... terrible vibe. So they left. I feel bad since I searched Yelp.....looking for somewhere for them to eat after a nice day out. I sent them Eureka as a suggestion.... What a mistake!! read more

Great place to eat and have drinks with family and friends. I do not recommend kids to go there because it's more of a social gathering type of vibe. You have to try their Mac and cheese ball off of the starter menu. They are really good and it comes with ranch to dip. My favorite drink is (darn I forget the name of it) but on the menu it says 2 drink limit. Nice and strong. Also the old fashioned because it's strong as well. One drink I am not a fan of is their wild child as some people like it. It does not taste good to me nor does it have any type of starter effect. Their wings are really good though I do not have a picture of it. The burger was good. I felt like it was missing something. Happy hour 3pm-6pm is a way to go though it does not have a great selection. Food costs between $16-$18 if you do not catch the happy hour. read more

This is a nice place to grab some food near the Hawthorn airport. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked what they would recommend and it really hit the spot. This place has really good mac & cheese balls, they have a tinge of spice that brings out the taste. We got an order of sweet potato fries with one of the burgers, they put honey over the top of them. I would ask them not to put honey on them since they are already sweet, it almost made them overly sweet to eat. Would definitely go back again. read more
