This location is easy to miss. It's like a hidden jewel. The parking can be limited as it's in a neighborhood but I went for brunch and was early and parked right in front. It wasn't busy when we arrived (4 of us) so we had our choice for seating. We were greeted immediately. The waitress told us about a specialty drink she made and it did not disappoint! We were off to a great start. The food came out pretty quick and was AMAZING! I'd definitely return with more friends!

I stopped by Eugene's a few weeks ago and was really hoping for some great Southern Style catfish, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to the expectations. The service was friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant was very dark, and it was giving more sports bar vibes than anything else.

Went to Eugene's tonight for a friend's birthday party. We had a great time! We had a decent size party about 12 people, and we had no complaints. The ambiance was cool, loved the music... think D'Angelo, Tamia, Erykah Badu. I was shocked it wasn't busy but I think it's a fairly new restaurant. The service and food were all good too. We ordered: Catfish Bites (well seasoned and perfectly fried), deviled eggs (yummy, and they gave us 4 halves even though the menu said 3), Chicken Alfredo (solid choice and the bread was really good), and a chicken sandwich with fries (loved the sandwich and the fries). Some of the other guests got the dirty bird wings and fries which they also recommended. The prices were okay, not the most budget friendly but also not crazy expensive (cocktails around $16-20, entrees around $20-57) however they have live music some nights so I think it's on par with or even more affordable than other venues. As I said earlier we had a bigger size group and they kindly kept our orders separated by couples, something a lot of places don't offer. Everyone was really kind and I think this place will be buzzing in no time. I heard they also have events like Karaoke and Comedy. We'll be back for sure!

I came here friday, this place is very spacious, it has nice setting inside as well. Friday evening i went to listen to some good music and try the food. The Djs were playing some good jams. The girl bartenders this night was hooking the drinks up. I had a huge issue with the waiter Victor he seem overwhelmed and confused. He kept messing up my wing order and He charged us 30 bucks each 6 pcs wings and it didnt come with sides supposedly. I was going to tell the manager but my friend paid for it and said its fine. Once I tried the wings they were hella salty. If it wasnt for the music and the drinks, i wouldve had a bad night.

I celebrated my birthday on 10/29/25 and had an unforgettable experience! The food was an absolute 10/10 -- every bite was delicious. The DJ kept the energy high all night, and the vibe was just right. A special shoutout to the General Manager, Ronea, whose customer service was top-tier -- so warm, attentive, and personal. The atmosphere was effortlessly chic, making it the perfect backdrop for a celebration. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is a must-visit spot to hang out in Los Angeles.

This is the place to be on a Friday and Saturday night in LA! First of all the ambience is everything! The urban art is something to see honestly! Beautiful areas to sit and just enjoy the music and lounge. The bar area is beautiful and the DJ is everything! Playing a variety of old & new R&B! Keeping folks on the dance floor! Nice sized dance floor too! Now Let's talk about the food! When I say fabulous you better hear me! Omg the Oxtails and rice are everything! Meat falling off the bones and so flavorful! Served with red beans and rice and greens! Omg! Like your mama's! Sooooooo GOOD! I had the brussels sprouts and salmon bites as an appetizer and they were also absolutely delicious! And let's not forget the service... 5 stars all the way around! This will be my spot to come to from now on every time I come back to LA!

I haven't been on this side of town in a while and I saw this place and really just wanted to go in for a drink. It's a really dope place. The decor, artwork on the wall, the patio in the back. They have a fireplace in the wall, multiple TVs , a nice bar with a fantastic bartender Kiki (she made me the best lemon drop). I didn't eat this time but someone did order some lamb chops and they smelled delicious so I need to Go back and test that out.

Nice clean spot, service and food was good, and the bartender that day was named Kalani , she was very nice and drinks were good. I will be back.

The place itself is very modern and nice. Overall the vibe it basically a Houston's-type place. And service was good. All of the food overall was very good. Nothing really too crazy. To me, the menu is a little... boring. But, I will say everything was tasty. We got the Cajun shrimp salad (which was simple and clean but tasty), a cheese pizza for the kids (which was good!), a brisket French dip (very tasty and a horseradish sauce with a LOT of bite), a vodka pasta (was good but it actually is TOO big a portion to eat by one's self), the Ahi Tuna frites (the tuna was good and served with a nice green sauce), and the grilled cabbage side (with brown butter and some pomegranate molasses--it was actually my favorite thing!). The key distinctive thing about Laurel Grill seems to be that a lot of things get cooked by that fire which really adds a nice smoky touch (like the shrimp and the ahi tuna and the cabbage). My only major complaint would be the fries were just okay. After a minute or two they weren't crispy anymore. As good as everything else was, I thought they would step things up with the fries but they were just average. Anyways, while I overall am not that excited by the menu, it definitely is a great place to go where everybody will be able to find something tasty to eat. And overall, the portions were pretty fair.

Come here for brunch after climbing the Culver City Stairs at the Baldwin Hills Overlook or a bike ride by the Ballona Creek jetty. Koshihikari Rice Porridge: This is a risotto that has gone gooey. Or is it the creamiest congee around? It is warm and thick, slightly soupy, and the rice grains still have some texture. The flavor is well balanced, a bit of broth, lemon, and olive oil. There are melted leaks at the base of the bowl, glistening with golden olive oil. The broccoli stems have been cooked until they are really soft. Crispy and chewy puffed rice has been sprinkled on top of the porridge, as well as raw green broccoli bits. The broccoli bits are what you get after you shake a grocery bag holding your broccoli crowns. Grilled onion rings are charred sand sweet. A sweet chocolatey gravy of black garlic is dusted on top. I don't eat porridge too often, but I'd keep coming back for the incredible flavors and textures in this stunning bowl. Ordering: Place your order at the counter, pick up a number, and find a table on the sidewalk. Swung by w a Rez, and was seated right away. Wasnt super hungry so decided to do a couple things. They have an option that is almost like a shared dish omakase with the the table, but was told its a large amount of food, so we'll all just have to come back for that. This trip we ordered a la cart, so lets get to it: Hummus: They sometimes have a special where you can add a little lamb roast to the hummus, so we opted for that, and I've gotta say this is probably one of the most flavorful hummuses ive had. It went super well with the hot and fresh pitas that came along with it. Roasted Eggplant: This was super good. If you're a fan of eggplant it'll take you for an adventure of flavors with the mint and sauce it comes paired with. Houllumi: If you told me baked cheese was a vibe then this would be it. Super nutty flavor baked in with the cheese and honey. Pair this up with the pita, and you got a delicious sweet and nutty flavor bomb. Kebab: Ended up choosing the chicken and lamb kebabs to try, and they had a really nice smokey right off the fire flavor while being super tender and juicy still. Cooked just right, and if you pair it with their harissa or zhoug it takes it to a whole nother level. Definitely a spot that I'd come back to check out, and do the big feast with some friends, so hopefully trying more things will lead to some best dish discoveries. Overall really good meal, and the vibes here are immaculate. Check this place out.
