Dr. Aaro has given me alternative solutions to my issues without judgement, he provides a personal experience every time I've come in with remembering things from past conversations I almost forgot about, and has done excellent work on my teeth that lasted longer than previous work from recent years.

I had a very difficult upper molar removed here that another dentist prior in Charleston declined to do. He wanted me to see an oral surgeon and I thought I would try Jax Emergency after my husband recommended them to me. Dr. Arrow was patient, took his time and rocked that tooth out in it's entirely with no breaks. Took his time and used rocking persistence- something most dentists do not posses anymore with the rush to high priced cosmetic dentistry procedures. I worked for years chair-side in dental offices in my younger years I can really appreciate application of great basic practices as well as talking a patient through the procedure calmly. I also appreciate in this day and age of greed in the medical industry to not have the price be the motivator to the doctor and practice. I like that the actions were whatever was best for me and my situation. I only wish they did root canals on molars so I wouldn't have to go on a search, but I've been referred to 3 endodontists for consideration for the next procedure. Front desk was very helpful and I was seated shortly after arrival. The assistant was efficient and friendly, updating x-rays after looking at those previously taken at another office earlier this year. Smart move. You don't want a dentist working off of old x-rays. Not ever! Another note I'll go in bed at names was I recognized her from being here a couple years ago which says a lot about the doctor. Many assistance turn through cause of doctors that are too difficult to stay with. Yes, some dentists can be rude to their assistant too! My disappointment at the cosmetic over health $$$$ direction dental care has taken can be noted! Implants implants implants are not for everyone nor can everyone afford seniors who want to preserve their teeth and have good health rather than focus on only appearance get any cost. So much pressure to spend thousands and thousands of dollars - patients shamed into signing financial agreements unrealistic for many situations. I was so upset over the pressure for the plants. I waited too darn long to get a second opinion. I still need 2 root canals, but I'm glad I came here and talked to Dr. arrow about my options that suited my own needs and budget. I'm so glad I did. Take control of your health. I do recommend this doctor and staff for a no-frills office with a kind efficient staff and knowledgeable Dr.

Everyone including Dr. Sklenicka where very nice, answered all my questions and listened to my concerns during my visits. I had a consult at a different oral surgeon several months ago and just wasn't comfortable when leaving so I never went back. Consult and surgery all within a week which was very convenient for me and my work. I tend to bruise easy but had little to NO bruising on my face, some bruising with the IV(to be expected). I iced my face to help with the swelling but also had little to no swelling! Took antibiotics and Ibuprofen as directed so I truly wasn't in ANY pain just some muscle soreness. Never woke up during procedure. Although I do suggest they should manually weight patients rather then just asking. All in all, I am very very happy with my experience with this office and my results from having all 4 wisdoms teeth out. Don't be a chicken! It's a relief to have it finally done and over.

North Florida Oral & Facial Surgery - Billing Department Review…read moreDr. Scott Sklenicka North Florida Oral & Facial Surgery 2511 St. Johns Bluff Rd., Suite 207 Jacksonville, FL 32246 Following my initial review of Dr. Scott Sklenicka's office at North Florida Oral & Facial Surgery, I wanted to address my experience with the Billing Department. After my wisdom tooth extraction on April 1, 2026, I was advised by the office to contact the Billing Department regarding what I believed was an overpayment and to discuss reimbursement. I called the number provided, (904) 309-5651, on numerous occasions over the course of several weeks, leaving multiple voicemail messages in the hope that the matter could be resolved as outlined in the practice's Financial Policy. The policy states: "If you have questions regarding your account, please contact us at (904) 309-5651. Many times, a simple telephone call will clear any misunderstandings." Unfortunately, I never received a single return call from the Billing Department. Instead, I repeatedly had to contact the office and speak with the Office Manager because I could not get any explanation regarding what I believed was the overbilling or the reimbursement process. At one point, I was even told that I simply needed to "keep calling and bugging them" until I received a response. That is not what I would consider an effective or patient-friendly billing process. Most recently, I was trying to obtain information about my reimbursement check for $809.60. Once again, I had to contact the office and rely on the Office Manager to obtain a response from the Billing Department because my direct attempts to communicate with them were unsuccessful. I later learned that North Florida Oral & Facial Surgery merged with Beacon Oral Specialists, a Texas-based company with practice partners throughout the United States, including five offices in the Jacksonville area. Based on the information I was given, the Billing Department now works remotely while continuing to use the office telephone number listed above. If that information is accurate, it may help explain why my voicemail messages went unanswered for months. Regardless of the reason, the lack of communication created unnecessary frustration and made resolving what should have been a straightforward billing question far more difficult than necessary. In my opinion, this billing process has significant communication issues that deserve management's attention. Patients should not have to make repeated calls or rely on the Office Manager simply because the Billing Department is unresponsive. I have also noticed reviews from patients at other Jacksonville-area locations describing similar billing and communication problems. While I cannot verify every individual's experience, the consistency of these reports suggests that my experience may not have been an isolated incident. My next review will focus on the practice's Financial Policy and other aspects of its business operations that prospective patients should carefully review before scheduling an appointment at any of these offices.
