What stands out the most for me are the hygienists; every single one of them is truly spectacular. A special mention goes to Alex. Not only is he highly skilled and knowledgeable, but he also shows genuine compassion. He takes the time to explain each step, which has meant so much as I've been going through a lot with my teeth. What impressed me most is that the doctor personally called me outside of his busy schedule to check in, see how I was doing, and ask what could make the process more comfortable. That level of care is rare--and to me, it's A+. I'm so thankful to have found this practice. Coming from the North, it hasn't always been easy to find a dentist I truly trust, but I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

However, I was surprised how smoothed it went. Very caring staff and doctor, (Adamec) and his assistance, Ms. Hilda, they both explained what to expect step by step. He walked in the room, extremely annoyed that my dentist had not sent over the x-rays in time so he told me that they had 15 minutes to get the x-rays over otherwise if I wanted the tooth extracted today (as opposed to going thru the weekend in pain) I would have to pay $100 for x-rays with him...because he had a plane to catch and did not have time to wait. Then he jabs the Novacaine in my mouth during the procedure with a gentleness of a mountain gorilla. He spent about two seconds trying to pull the tooth out normally and then decided to use his jackhammer to break the tooth apart even though that's going to be hard to recovery for me. Top it off he was in so much of a hurry to get to the airport for whatever flight he was taking out that he forgot to call in the painkiller to my pharmacy prior to leaving. Hoping and praying that Advil will be enough Complete jerk! there's got to be someone better to go to. Take my advice and call around!

I feel like all the media I've seen about root canals had me terrified for the procedure. But wow, I felt like such a baby afterwards! Dr. Popkowski and his team were SO professional, kind, and reassuring. It didn't hurt at ALL! He knocked it out of the park getting me in and out within the hour. Doc also called that evening to make sure everything still felt okay, which was very personable! I didn't even have pain the next day. In fact, my mouth feels better than it has in a while! I had no idea how much that tooth had been bothering me. I say all this to say, wow - what a walk in the park! This group rocks and I couldn't be happier about my experience here. He wanted me to see an oral surgeon and I thought I would try Jax Emergency after my husband recommended them to me. Dr. Arrow was patient, took his time and rocked that tooth out in it's entirely with no breaks. Took his time and used rocking persistence- something most dentists do not posses anymore with the rush to high priced cosmetic dentistry procedures. I worked for years chair-side in dental offices in my younger years I can really appreciate application of great basic practices as well as talking a patient through the procedure calmly. I also appreciate in this day and age of greed in the medical industry to not have the price be the motivator to the doctor and practice. I like that the actions were whatever was best for me and my situation. I only wish they did root canals on molars so I wouldn't have to go on a search, but I've been referred to 3 endodontists for consideration for the next procedure. Front desk was very helpful and I was seated shortly after arrival. The assistant was efficient and friendly, updating x-rays after looking at those previously taken at another office earlier this year. Smart move. You don't want a dentist working off of old x-rays. Not ever! Another note I'll go in bed at names was I recognized her from being here a couple years ago which says a lot about the doctor. Many assistance turn through cause of doctors that are too difficult to stay with. Yes, some dentists can be rude to their assistant too! My disappointment at the cosmetic over health $$$$ direction dental care has taken can be noted! Implants implants implants are not for everyone nor can everyone afford seniors who want to preserve their teeth and have good health rather than focus on only appearance get any cost. So much pressure to spend thousands and thousands of dollars - patients shamed into signing financial agreements unrealistic for many situations. I was so upset over the pressure for the plants. I went to Dr. Adam Cohlmia to replace an ill-fitting crown placed by another dentist. I was very…read moreclear from the start that the crown's fit, color, size, and position were critical, as I'd been struggling with chewing, talking, persistent facial pain, headaches, and even feeling the old crown pressing against my lip. I trusted Dr. Cohlmia to address these issues, but unfortunately, the experience was both disappointing and deeply upsetting. Dr. Cohlmia removed the old crown, rebuilt my tooth, and placed a permanent crown. While the temporary crown offered some relief, the permanent crown caused immediate problems. My headaches and facial pain returned, the crown was visibly whiter than my natural teeth, and it protruded against my lip. On top of that, it "clanged" against my bottom teeth while chewing and caused me to bite my tongue, leading to significant discomfort. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for an adjustment, and while it helped briefly, the same issues returned within days. When I called for a second adjustment, I had to follow up multiple times before I was seen. During this appointment, Dr. Cohlmia's demeanor had changed drastically. He appeared visibly annoyed, and his tone was dismissive and gruff. He argued with me, repeatedly saying, "I don't know what you're complaining about; the crown looks great." I tried to explain that the issue wasn't about how it looked but how it felt, as I was still in pain, unable to eat normally, and relying on Tylenol to get through the day. Rather than addressing my concerns, Dr. Cohlmia became increasingly hostile. He raised his voice, called my concerns "ridiculous," and sarcastically suggested refunding me, saying, "How about I refund the crown because nothing is wrong with it?" At this point, I felt trapped, embarrassed, and overwhelmed. Dr. Cohlmia was standing over me, visibly angry, and his dismissive attitude left me in tears. The patient rooms lack privacy, so this entire exchange could be overheard by others. When I agreed to the refund just to end the confrontation, he stormed out of the room yelling, "So ridiculous!" My embarrassment only grew when the front desk staff asked me to open my mouth and show my crown to them in front of other patients. To make matters worse, the office couldn't issue the refund that day and refused to provide written confirmation, simply stating I'd receive a check by mail within 30 days. The entire ordeal was humiliating and unprofessional. Dr. Cohlmia's care fell far below any reasonable standard. From dismissing my pain to his unprofessional and aggressive behavior, he showed a lack of compassion, understanding, and basic respect. I trusted him to help me with a difficult situation, but I left feeling worse physically and emotionally. If he wasn't capable of handling this case, he should have said so upfront instead of responding with hostility when the crown required multiple adjustments. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone seeking competent or compassionate dental care.
