I had a very difficult upper molar removed here that another dentist prior in Charleston declined to do. He wanted me to see an oral surgeon and I thought I would try Jax Emergency after my husband recommended them to me. Dr. Arrow was patient, took his time and rocked that tooth out in it's entirely with no breaks. Took his time and used rocking persistence- something most dentists do not posses anymore with the rush to high priced cosmetic dentistry procedures. I worked for years chair-side in dental offices in my younger years I can really appreciate application of great basic practices as well as talking a patient through the procedure calmly. I also appreciate in this day and age of greed in the medical industry to not have the price be the motivator to the doctor and practice. I like that the actions were whatever was best for me and my situation. I only wish they did root canals on molars so I wouldn't have to go on a search, but I've been referred to 3 endodontists for consideration for the next procedure. Front desk was very helpful and I was seated shortly after arrival. The assistant was efficient and friendly, updating x-rays after looking at those previously taken at another office earlier this year. Smart move. You don't want a dentist working off of old x-rays. Not ever! Another note I'll go in bed at names was I recognized her from being here a couple years ago which says a lot about the doctor. Many assistance turn through cause of doctors that are too difficult to stay with. Yes, some dentists can be rude to their assistant too! My disappointment at the cosmetic over health $$$$ direction dental care has taken can be noted! Implants implants implants are not for everyone nor can everyone afford seniors who want to preserve their teeth and have good health rather than focus on only appearance get any cost. So much pressure to spend thousands and thousands of dollars - patients shamed into signing financial agreements unrealistic for many situations. I was so upset over the pressure for the plants. I waited too darn long to get a second opinion. I still need 2 root canals, but I'm glad I came here and talked to Dr. arrow about my options that suited my own needs and budget. I'm so glad I did. We were booked in for Monday. Our old dentist had been giving me a run around for months, and I wasn't able to get my son's dental records over the weekend. The ladies at the front desk were very understanding. They accommodated our needs to the best of their abilities, and made me and my child feel at ease. Dr Jasmine was so kind, but knowledgeable. I left there feeling comfortable that my son was in good hands, not just in the hands of someone chasing a paycheck. Top it off he was in so much of a hurry to get to the airport for whatever flight he was taking out that he forgot to call in the painkiller to my pharmacy prior to leaving. As a retired Research and Development Engineer under contract to NASA, needless to say, I did an…read moreextensive amount of research into the entire procedure of dental implants from Process to Materials. I conducted the same examination of several practices offering "new teeth in one day". I WAS SHOCKED TO DISCOVER that the other practices do NOT tell you the whole story about what is waiting for you once you are "in the chair". If you have the expectation that you are going to walk out of the office in 24 hours with a set of comfortable lifelong teeth, you are in for a very very large dose of reality. Just think about what's happening in your mouth. In most cases, you are having extractions. Extractions mean swelling. Swelling is not your normal mouth shape or configuration; and yet, you are being measured and fitted for the configuration that your mouth will be in after the swelling subsides. This is something like buying clothes when you weigh 300 and expecting them to fit after you lose 150 pounds. Obviously, it is the key to long-term discomfort and dissatisfaction. There is of course the other end of the spectrum that can take up to a year to finally walk out of the office with a new set of teeth that do in fact fit properly; but frankly, I didn't have that kind of time. I chose to go with JAX IMPLANTS because they offered a more than satisfactory middle-ground plan. In fact, I did have usable teeth within the first 24 hours with a special caveat. They were a set of "temporary" teeth that were functional to the degree that I could eat foods that I enjoyed within certain texture limits. As the healing progressed, new "temporary" teeth replaced the previous set and slight modifications were introduced to try new options to improve function and fit. After 4 months of healing and adjustments to the temporary teeth, the final teeth fit and function perfectly. In total, I had 3 sets of temporary teeth before settling on my FINAL teeth. The final teeth exceed my expectations. I cannot even begin to express my thanks to the doctors and staff of Jax Implants for how happy I am with MY NEW TEETH.

While Dr. McCree is wonderful, the staff's conduct is unacceptable and disrespectful. I will be sharing my experience on social media to ensure others in the community are aware of these issues before they get involved with this office.
