It's wrong on so many levels. the first visit I made to this Doctor, I explained my issues and he said you seem a little young for that!. AAAA++++ I do highly recomend Dr. Dula for his exemplary medical professionalism as well as the skill with which he and his staff had provided and given quality medical care to my elderly father. My father had begun to suffer with the symptoms of vascular-dementia, this greatley complicated any extensive urological diagnostic procedures as well as the outlook for potential treatment. My father had at this time extreme difficulty to urinate he had a suprapubic catheter placed by another physician to mitigate the urine retention. The catheter exacerbated my fathers dementia. Clearly God blessed my father with the professional consideration of Dr. Dula, by that time we were near the end of hope. It had seemed that the accepted industry standard was to simply refuse to offer or make available procedures that could potentially alleviate the need for any catheter altogether. Clearly and obviously i can say that without any arrogance Doctor Dula, endowed with confidence enough from his own experience and prior success, he humbly offred to employ his sirgical skill. His office staff first did necessary testing to understand the potential usefulness or relevance of surgery to help my father. He did perform excellent and phenomenaly beneficial surgery. I write all of this several months after the passing of my dear father (84 years). I did personally accompany and trivialy assist my father at his appointments and during testing procedure. This review is belated, it is appropriate and commensurate with thr fine care recieved. Borrowing and applying analogy to jewelry profession, i want myself to say somewhat less humbly that i have an eye for noticing those things which we hold to be precious and are regarded as gems. When considiring other urologists who declined to consider or offer care to my ailing father, Doctor Dula should be regarded as exemplary in his profession as he is certainly more than a precious gem among stones. Dr. Dula lied to me concerning my anaesthesia. On the introduction to Resume Therapy Dr. Dula confirmed I would be put under. I again confirmed at the preopt meeting I would be put under. This did not happen. During the operation as I am butt naked he told me I would be simi under like a colonoscopy. All my colonoscopy surgery I was put under? Regardless the gaseous anaesthesia did little to nothing facing excruciating pain of a 14" metal probe being inserted into my penis! Just imagine! I scream and demanded he stop but he arrogantly continued saying " almost 50% done"! Operation was not completed. Afterwards, he told me he does not put his patients under!!! LIAR! This is the worst experience I have ever had from a doctor's office. The employees at Dr Eugene Dula's offices are horrible in how they take care of their patients. I would not recommend anyone to visit any of their locations. They are robbing patients that are insured and don't even hide it. I had my insurance provider call them to ask why I was being charged for an office visit that I was covered for and they insisted that I had to pay anyway. The insurance representative was shocked and had no words to respond to them with. They are an in network provider and should be removed from the network for the way they treat their clients. Before I went to see Dr. Dula, I went to see another urologist (in the same building). For my "minor" condition, the other doctor wanted me to go to a 3rd party surgical center, hire an Anesthesiologist, put me under, etc. I thought it was a bit excessive. Also, I would have spent a lot of money (co-pay) for all of these especially since the surgical center this particular doctor used was not in network with my insurance. So, I decided to see Dr. Dula to get a second opinion and voila, he agreed with me. We did the procedure in his office (no 3rd party surgical center), he numbed the area and he did his thing. No anesthesiologist, nothing fancy. He got the job done in less than half an hour. During recovery, I had a question and he returned my call and assured me everything was fine. Also, he charged way less than than any other doctors I had seen for my condition resulting in smaller copay amount. He also didn't recommend unnecessary extra stuff like the other did. This was back in November 2018. Now almost 5 months later, no scarring, everything is great. read more

Dr. Dula is arrogant, nasty and completely uninformed. His ego is so huge he won't admit he doesn't know everything. He gets mean if you question him. He gave my husband a cancer diagnosis and said nothing could be done. Prepare to make him comfortable for his last few months. When I was upset and asked if this meant it was stage 4, he so rudely shouted, "What stage is it? It's terminal, that's what stage it is." Well guess what. It wasn't. A 2nd opinion from UCLA provided options and a CURE! Yes, a CURE! As an academic medical center, they conduct many cancer trials. So they DO have many more options than some local valley doctor. Dr. Dula's arrogance wouldn't allow him to suggest another doctor as an option. He just ridiculed me for wasting money getting a 2nd opinion from UCLA. I had a symptom that that suggested the possibility of cancer somewhere in my urinary tract. My UCLA doctor immediately ordered a bunch of tests and X-rays, and she referred me to Dr. Dula. Dr. Dula saw me promptly; he was very pleasant, very thorough and an exceptionally good communicator. In just one visit Dr. Dula did everything that could be done to evaluate me in the office. He even managed to fit in a cystoscopy, a test I had expected to be scheduled at some time in the future. In just an hour or two, most of my work-up had been done and my mind was mostly put at rest. I doubt that any doctor could accomplish more, or do it so quickly, for every single patient. I was amazed at his efficiency and thoroughness. Another reviewer, Eliran R., was annoyed by a comment overheard in the office that concerned a medical bill. He or she concluded that Dr. Dula was more concerned about money than healing. My experience was exactly the opposite. Sure, Dr. Dula's office collected my billing and health insurance information, but otherwise no one gave any sign that they cared about anything except my health and well-being. The Dr. Dula and his partner saved my life after my OBGYN Dr. Kamran Malek (you can read his yelp to read what happened) made a mistake during my Ovaryan cyst surgery, he ruptured my bladder. Dr. Dula was not my urologist. He was evidently covering for a colleague and saw me in the hospital today. That colleague had instructed me to go to Tarzana ER if I had pain and he would be called. I would not have gone if not instructed to do so. I was admitted to the room from hell. I was kept without food, water, or sleep. At 2:00pm this afternoon Dr. Dula enters, tells me my stone is small, and I should go home. His colleague had said it was large and would most likely not pass. Why the difference of opinion? Because Dula was referring to a report years old. Then when confronted with his error he became flippant and told me they just admitted me because they want to fill beds. My hospitalization was a waste of time and money. Dula was unprofessional and incompetent. Stay away from this doctor. read more

Unfortunately Dr. Dula's abilities and expertise remain ambiguous. The unaddressed, relentless unprofessionalism and terminal inadequacies of his Tarzana front office staff, create the probability of undue health risks to patients. Specifically, the front office staff's collective and enduring inability to deliver competent health care services, or to proactively assess actual risks caused by their "half assed" approach to the job at hand, has put my Father-in-Law's heath at risk. Apologies are like urologists, everyone gets one sooner or later. In this case, our one urologist comes with countless apologies, appointment cancelation, lacking intervention of any kind to address the inevitable complications that will arise from their continuous appointment cancelations causing extended timelines between health care visits. Making this ridiculous situation worse is that the office staff is so rude, and so disconnected from their intended purpose they're not suited to staff the back office shipping department of a mortuary. If this staff is an example of the drive thru medical certification education "As seen on TV" pitched every 30 minutes, the ailing world is in for pain, suffering, and death by complacency and incompetence. I would have liked to be able to rate Dr. Dula on a Dr. to patient experience, unfortunately, that would require someone showing up for the appointments that were made, and or caring enough about the impact their continued cancellations would impose on the patient. read more
