One experience that really stuck with me was when I saw him near the elevator while I was with my daughter, and he went out of his way to pretend he didn't know me. I completely understand patient privacy and professionalism, but even a simple acknowledgment or hello would have been the decent thing to do. Dr. Hyman started me on testosterone therapy, but the treatment process became frustrating very quickly. The dosage schedule required me to come into the office every two weeks for injections, and each visit came with an additional fee. It started at $25 per visit, then increased to $35, and eventually went up to $60. It felt excessive and poorly communicated. I do want to mention that Genera at the front desk was always very kind and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, my experience with the billing department was the exact opposite. The billing representative, Sydney, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. One evening she called me back around 6 PM regarding a billing issue. During the conversation, she answered another call while I was still on the line and said, "I can't talk because I'm dealing with a very difficult client right now." I immediately asked if she was referring to me, and instead of apologizing, she responded by saying, "It's six o'clock, I have things to do." What made the situation even more frustrating was that she was the one who had called me. After that interaction, I wrote Dr. Hyman a detailed email explaining what had happened, hoping he would at least acknowledge the situation or address the behavior. Instead, I received a long response about how difficult insurance companies are to deal with and was basically told that if I wasn't happy, I should find another doctor. That ended up being the best decision I could have made. Overall, my experience with this office was negative from start to finish. I never felt valued as a patient, communication was poor, and the professionalism I expected simply wasn't there. I would not recommend this doctor or this practice to others.
