Finally went to Eucalyptus Trail after seeing it blow up on social media and wauuu I loved it so so much. It was so rewarding seeing the cows at the end of the trail :') The hike itself wasn't too bad -- really pretty views. We also came the day after the rain went away and the views were stunning -- snow on the san Gabriel mountains and the cutie cows. We came on a Saturday morning and the parking lot wasn't too packed. The hype died down a bit so when we came it was perfect. I'll be back soon :)

Such a pretty hike! We saw grassy rolling hills, mustard flower fields, cows, donkeys, horses. It took a little over an hour and only the first 10 min were hard with the steep incline but I had so much fun! Sunday was busy but not too busy and there were even info booth people on the trail guiding people if they got lost. OH and free parking. 10/10 experience

The Eucalyptus trail starts right next to the chino hills community park off of Eucalyptus Ave and Peyton Dr. The parking lot doesn't open so early so you might have to park at the Chino Hills Community Center and walk over to the start. This trail is beautiful, with a little bit of incline. The hike itself is probably about 3 miles. Beautiful views, not stroller friendly.

Beautiful view. Trail is easy to moderate with some incline. A good 3 miles hike. Bring a hat , suncreen and wear a good pair of shoes, hiking shoes preferably. Ample amount of parking at the Chino Hills Community park. This trail is very popular, so it is very busy especially on weekends. You will see horses, cows and donkeys along your hike. But please be mindful. Admire them from a distance . Do not pet or feed them. Keep the trail clean for everybody to enjoy. Highly recommended .

What a beautiful hike. Parking was easy at the start of the trail. Plenty of it. 85 degrees in January lol can't complain. Dog friendly which is a plus. Pretty easy hike. Took less than 2 hours for the loop.

It was very pretty and easy to maneuver. My dog had a blast running around and frolicking in the grass. It was a little crowded when I went but that's because I went on a Saturday morning.

This is the best walking trail around. Scenery is beautiful. Great landscape, greenery, animals to see. There are a few challenging slopes but you can also stay on the street trail for a more flat walk. There are also restaurants nearby for breakfast before or lunch after. Lots of green space and dog-friendly. Please remember to pick up after your dogs and take your empty bottles and trash with you!

This was a great light to moderate trail. There was a lot of things to see with a great view and animals to see along the way. I highly recommend this trail.

I really enjoyed this trail walk/hike. There are different routes 2.5miles and 3.5miles. It will take between 1-1.5 hour. We did the longer route. Some incline and decline for about a mile and the rest is flat. You'll always walk by all the farms...we saw horses and cows. It was fun!

First time here and very pleased with the ease to find this hiking trail. Ample parking at the Chino Hills Community park. Gorgeous views. See photos below. Wear all-trail shoes for better traction, bring water, sunscreen, hat or umbrella as most of the trail is in full sun. Family friendly hike. Expect a couple of moderate/steep inclines to the top.

Ask the Community - Eucalyptus Trail Loop

In January will I run into snakes ? What month has highest sightings of snakes?

I've spent a lot of time on the trail and never seen a rattle snake. I have seen a harmless snake.

Can i take my baby in a stroller?

It can be uneven at times, mostly dirt, a stroller would be hard to push. I would recommend a backpack carrier depending on the age of your baby.

Depending how far you would like to hike, it can easily be a 10 miles round trips. Some parts can get very steep and some are just flat service. The drive into the park and throughout can be a bit sketchy at parts because there are times when the road is so narrow, only one car can pass at a time. They have small turnouts, but it got interesting at some places. You also have to watch out for hikers that are parking down the road and walking into the park to avoid the entrance fee. The ranger at the entrance was very friendly and helpful. He handled the exchange for the $10 entrance fee. You can pay online with their QR Code, but I didn't have service, and they also charge you an additional $0.55 service fee for that service. There are restrooms right at the entrance. The facilities are well-kept and stocked, which we all appreciated. We parked near the Rolling M Ranch Campground. Looks like a decent camping area. They don't allow campfires though. There were campsites available. We started out hiking Ranger Ridge Trail, then swung down to Raptor Ridge Trail. Whew! My quads and calves were BURNING! Those are some steep climbs there! These particular trails are also very narrow with a ton of overgrowth. I was glad I wore long-sleeves, but should have worn pants because the brush tore my legs up a bit. There's also a ton of foxtails and they kept getting stuck in the top of our shoes. Ouch! When we swung back down to Telegraph Canyon Trail, that was wide enough for us all to walk together and had nice spots of shade. That trail was well maintained. There are a ton of hiking trails here. I'd be willing to keep coming back to explore more!

There is a cafe/ convenience store across from the campground where you can also purchase your day use park pass for $5. I experienced a foggy day, which gave a cooling effect to my hiking. Restrooms are vault toilets, so unpleasant smells and a mess are a given. The lake has lots of swampy algae, therefore not appropriate for swimming or water sports. However, they do allow fishing with permit. I am a nature enthusiast and it was saddening to see the lack of humans respect for nature, with graffiti and trash in some areas of the park. Crystal lake definitely could use more funding to preserve its natural beauty. The loveliest part is listening to woodpeckers as they work, watching an eagle fly above with a fish in its talons, and treading quietly not to startle the squirrel who is crossing my path. I suggest picking up a map with hiking trails from the rangers post or convenience store, before planning your day!

There is a round about parking near the entrance with a moderate amount of parking spaces but if you go past that further in there are more parking available. The play ground is quite large compared to other smaller park playgrounds. The cool think i like was that stairs from the first parking lot with the restrooms connect to the playground. So kids can jump right into the fun. Next to the playground its surrounded with plenty of picnic tables (concrete) and lets parents sit and relax while the kids play. The playground has multiple entries with two slides? Two monkey bars, stepping stone style elevated steps, a fireman pole, etc... definitely a fun park to come to. There is a little creek adjacent to the playground where you get a nice tranquil stream of flowing water drowned by the screams and laughter of children in the background, lol.. its nice really and something that sets it apart. We did not go further past the stream but there appears to be additional tables and a trail. Had a great time meeting our friends there and enjoying some fun times with the kids in the process. My kids loved it.

Also there is a hiking trail that I now frequently go to now. Especially the last few weeks (despite it being late January/early February) its been very warm in SoCal. One of my favorite parks and hiking trails to go to around the Diamond Bar area.
