Tony and his team turned a bleak drainage and grading issue into a beautiful curb view. They replaced an old timber retaining wall with a beautiful stone wall, built another stone wall on the opposite side balancing the appearance, installed a flagstone patio, leveled and graded the area. The work team, led by Jesus was professional, diligent and hardworking. The project area looks lovely. I moved into a 55+ community and had a patio area with an unsafe poorly built patio prone to tripping hazards and the patio area had a wall that was falling apart after only 5 or six years of being constructed. It was falling apart, like the rest of the patio because of faulty construction. On the street side of the patio was a path leading to a gate bounded by 2 neglected garden areas that had grown wild and overtook the path to the extent it was unusable. On the other side of the patio was a "garden area" with no path leading to the back gate, erosion, tripping hazards at the patio, no plants but a variety of weeds which were an embarrassment to an otherwise highly maintained community. Before purchasing an otherwise fine home I viewed a patio area that can only be described as a disaster but a disaster with potential. Not being a landscaper, I needed a high quality Lanscape company that could see my vision and turn the vision into reality. They were very upfront and did not try to push me to do things that didn't make sense. The company does great work. They fixed our retaining wall, making it look easy, and re-constructed it in the way it should have been done years ago. They also sodded the back yard, recommending irrigation times for each zone. Definitely worth what we paid. I am removing 1 start due to communication issues. They no-showed for a scheduled appointment, with no communication at all. After rescheduling, they did it again, with no communication. Tony and his team gave us an entire backyard renovation back in the spring. My wife and I couldn't be happier. We put in two boulder retaining walls, a new patio and a new firepit area between the two retaining walls. Tony has a landscaper architect on this team who worked with us to draw up what we wanted before we started the project. I have used them for almost 3 years. They designed and installed our landscape and did an outstanding job. Also took care of adding underground drainage of gutters to the property line. We have been delighted with the outcome. The weekly service is expensive but very detailed, neat, and professionally done. I find Tony very responsive by email for questions or any issues that might come up and the workers have been excellent. They subcontracted construction of our deck which turned out OK. I would recommend them for landscape, hardscape, drainage. They charge a lot but I got a result that is much better than previous companies I have used over 30 years. read more

We have very specific detailed expectations & Tony and his team at Etowah always find a way to exceed them! Etowah is proactive, communicative and very responsive whenever we have a question or need assistance. Our yard requires a level of knowledge that spans a wide range of plant/flower species and we have dealt with multiple other companies (with horticulturists & gardeners) that have unsuccessfully kept up with the demands of our yard. Terrible company.Installed sod for eleven thousand dollars and even hired them for maintenance- they made multiple mistakes and sod dying and looks terrible then they said they weren't going to honor the contract. Now small claims court . Stay away from this company! read more

In 2017 we hired Etowah Group to replace rotten wood on our side and rear decks as well as steps leading from our front yard to the back yard. They then painted all the wood with SW Deck and Dock. They also trimmed bushes and a tree and replaced slate chips on the landings that were part of the steps. Unfortunately, one of the pieces of wood used on our rear deck was "green", i.e., not dry, and has been exuding sap for the past 14 months. Their hardscape manager Mike has been telling us to wait until sap stopped flowing, at which time he would scrape the sap from the piece of wood and repaint it. The sap continues to flow from the wood, and we have asked Mike to replace the wood with another piece of wood that is dry and will not exude sap. Mike continues to delay, offering various excuses (some of which conflict with previous statements he has made). Most of the time he does not return my calls, and I must call him yet again. To compound this poor excuse for "customer service", we paid Etowah Group more than $7,100 for this work. In the spring of 2018, prior to experiencing the above-described inexcusable behavior, we again contacted Etowah Group to replace and paint rotten wood on a wall in our front yard and pressure wash our decks. The estimate for this requested work was between $900 and $1,000. We also requested estimates for additional work that were outlandishly high and chose not to go ahead with Etowah performing that work. (For example, Etowah Group offered to paint our townhouse for $4,200; instead, we hired an excellent company that painted our townhouse for $2,900, stayed in touch with us throughout and conducted themselves as real professionals.) We did request Etowah to perform the work priced at $900-1,000. Mike refused, saying that they must perform a certain amount of work at a certain price point each day, and $900-1,000 was not enough. How unprofessional a response for a customer who the previous year paid this company more than $7,100. read more

Stay away, far far away. Total scam. They were hired to put in a pool and deck as well as landscape around the pool for my sister's backyard wedding. The deck was so shoddily constructed that it couldn't pass inspection due to numerous code violations, all of which were pointed out and ignored. (This may be because my sister is a woman.) Instead of removing the clay as they were contracted to do they spread it out over the yard (which they had graded and seeded the previous fall) thus killing everything. They then told my sister "you can grow anything in clay." Furthermore, the newly planted shrubs around the pool could be lifted out because they didn't dig a hole deep enough to hold the root ball. They must have thought my sister was an idiot. We spent the week after her wedding trying to save the plantings, re-digging the holes and moving one because they had planted on a stump! She's now found someone to repair the damage. It was an expensive lesson and she could leave no stars would. (This review was dictated by my sister, and typed by me.) read more
