Waiting for our house to be built, we have begun exploring our option for furniture. If you know quality American made furniture, you would be familiar with Ethan Allen. They've been around for over 80 years with everything handmade to order. Upon entry we were greeted by an interior designer that followed us around to see what we like. She took notes as we reflected on different pieces. She explained to us the process of buying furniture. Basically pick your favorite furniture, then at the designer appointment sort out your fabrics (1,500 to choose from) and cushion material (3 to choose from). She even offered to come out to our house as a courtesy and part of the whole package. Our "interior designer" was excellent, very attentive and engaged. They pride themselves in being interior designers and not just furniture sales people. Ethan Allen tends to have traditional or classic designs, but have recently expanded their horizons into more transitional designs. If you're in the market for high quality furniture and have a few bills to spend, this may be the place. read more

I love my new sofa from ethan allen - but had to wait over SIX months for it. After repeated requests from them for my patience (covid, etc, etc) I was pretty tired of waiting for it. It's beautiful but NO other custom sofa that I've purchased anywhere else took so long. There seemed to be no interest in making sure that we were satisfied with the purchase despite the fact that they $2500 of mine to use over the six months. NOT a great experience read more

Ethan Allen designer and manager will say anything to get your business. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the phone with the designer (another designer if your designer is with a customer), store manager, and delivery scheduling. For one 27" round ottoman, my husband and I had spent 13 phone calls, and approximately 5 hours chasing down the ottoman. We're distraught at the thought of multiplying this by 8 more (potentially another 40+ more wasted hours) custom pieces that have been delayed three times. In April 2022, we found dining room custom pieces we loved in Arhaus. Arhaus was transparent to indicate that our pieces would be 30 weeks for delivery taking us close to Thanksgiving. On May 2nd, we decided to try Ethan Allen transparently sharing our key objective was delivery. We found similar pieces and our designer Nympha Mazzola was very attentive and knowledgeable about delivery. She indicated that for our pieces we were looking at approximately 12 weeks but set delivery to 15 weeks just to be sure. We agreed since the latter delivery was still well into the summer. We received NO communication from our designer Nympha for close to 8 weeks so I started calling the store to get assurances that we were still on schedule for delivery. Nympha was with a customer so designer Robin investigated my order and exchanged a couple of calls, all initiated by me since she was not my designer. Robin indicated that the ottoman had arrived a few weeks back. I was NOT notified of this. Robin further instructed that I call the Ethan Allen service center for CO and UT to schedule delivery of my ottoman (since she wasn't my designer, I should do the footwork.) I have spent multiple calls to the service office at 303-574-3003 (nice folks just doing their job). My ottoman was delivered on July 19th. Then I followed up with Nympha on the remaining 8 pieces. After exchanging 6 more phone calls, many "I was with a customer..." excuses. Then there was a deluge of inaccurate excuses of emails sent and phone messages left. We checked inboxes, spam and junk inboxes in our email, not one email prior to July. (Again, be prepared to waste a lot of time following up the trails of inaccurate communication.) Nympha forwarded one email that we did not receive, but certainly not multiple "emails" as she indicated in a transcribed voice message post-ottoman. No longer feeling confident with Nympha's knowledge of delivery, which was the primary reason for going with EA, I called the store manager Elaine Harris and shared the effort to acquire just one piece. She investigated the remaining order and indicated they were on back order until mid-September. This was the first notification of this backorder. Elaine indicated a very small compensation for our time wasted, haven't seen any credit back to our card. Still waiting ... Post-ottoman fiasco and many wasted hours, Nympha now has been instructed by Elaine to provided weekly emails. This week we received communication that 6 pieces are on schedule, 7th piece now (third delay) end of September. But what of the 8th piece? The emails exchange starts again this week ... In summary, purchase from Ethan Allen if you have a lot of time to waste. Sadly, we didn't; but with a signed custom order contract, we'll be spending additional time, effort and energy investigating credit card policies and legal recourse. My opinion in our current environment when a consumer is willing to pay extra for perceived customer service to alleviate stressors, "Shame on you Ethan Allen for taking our money and blatantly continuing to waste our time". I'll be updating this review (and in other consumer platforms) to accurately update or warn consumers until the 8th piece is delivered. read more

I have been a periodic and loyal customer of Ethan Allen for a few decades now. In the past few months, I moved and am in the process of downsizing. I needed a new duvet and found one I liked at Ethan Allen. I went yesterday to the store in Centennial, CO and was told if I wanted the discounted price, I needed to pay for the membership which is $100 and then I'd get shipping free for one year and the discounted member price of 20% (which was the exact sale discount price I was offered during a bedding sale a few months ago without a membership). The salesperson also told me I would get "a $65 candle and diffuser as a gift with the purchase of the membership but this would only last for a short time". I only needed a duvet. I don't need shipping and I don't want a $65 candle and diffuser. When I told the sales person this and asked her why she thought I would need this membership, she over-confidently stated that if I didn't purchase the membership, that was up to me but I wouldn't get the discounted price and the membership program has made things so much easier for the designers now. Well good for the designers - but what about the customer? Is this Ethan Allen's way of getting customer loyalty? Hook them in with a "membership" so they feel obligated to shop there? Ethan Allen is lost as a company. I'm sorry to say that after years of my unpaid customer loyalty, I will shop elsewhere. In response to Ethan Allen's response: The "new direction" of charging your customers money to be part of a membership program, benefits your company first and foremost. My example shows how this DOES NOT make it easier for the customer and actually can, and in my case will, turn customers away. read more

Found a mirror that was tagged $550 and the sales person said it was 20% off. When she went to ring it up she said it was $688! She advised us there was a price increase January 3 and the tags weren't changed yet. REALLY? We left, never to return again... read more

We purchased a large sectional couch 8 years ago from the Ethan Allen store in Centennial. The fabric on the couch has now started to fray and develop holes, despite our taking good care of it. It's disappointing to see this quality in Ethan Allen products. We are left with few options. The fabric is discontinued so recovering the frayed cushions is not possible. Moreover, the couch is 13 feet long, so investing in recovering the entire piece with an entirely different fabric does not make financial sense. Couches should last more than 8 years, especially one as expensive as this. Please see attached photos to view problems with fabric quality. read more

Double charged us for a living room set at Centennial, CO. Customer service is awful, if they answer. The local store woman who answered hung up on me without understanding the problem. We were double charged and still have no furniture, but they have double our money. Watch your checking acct. No wonder they are not members of the BBB. We purchased a lot of furniture from them over the last 19 yrs. They are nowhere near the business they used to be. read more

I am in the process of shopping for living room furniture and have recently visited most of the other stores that compete at this price point. My taste is modern but more on the transitional side and EA has a nice selection. I also like that the furniture is made in the USA. The salesperson who helped me, Nympha, was knowledgeable, patient, and a good listener. I have visited 4 stores and EA will probably be my choice for a sofa. read more

Purchased the Tuscan Gate bedding which looked nothing like the online photo. Took it to the store on Chester was told they don't return on-line purchases. So I spent a ridiculous amount of money paying for return shipping. What terrible customer service and quality. I will not shop here again (and I have been a good customer in the past both in the store and on-line). read more

The sales associates at the Centennial location are quite helpful, and take the time to assess needs and make educated suggestions. We recently furnished our living and dining rooms with pieces from the British Classics collection, and there's such a cohesive flow now going from room to room. There was a time I would have thought I was "uptown" getting to buy Ethan Allen Furniture. I purchased about $9,000 worth of furniture at the Centennial store. After 2 months the dining table started to discolor. Called Ethan Allen and was told there was nothing they could do, because this is "normal wear and tear". Asked to speak to manager and she never called back. Very disappointed in quality. Save your money and go to Ikea. read more

In September, I purchased a leather sectional, a new dining set, and a chair. Three and one half months later, I'm still waiting for delivery of the dining set, which is disappointing. But what really upsets me is that my sectional was delivered damaged in three different places. My husband, who was home for the delivery, pointed these out to the deliverers. They said to make note of it before signing and that somebody from the service department would be in touch. A service tech visited, checked the damage, and said he had to order the leather to repair it. After waiting for one month, we reached out to our sales rep for an ETA. She said she'd get back to me. After waiting for another week, I emailed her again. I received a terse response telling me that they HOPE to have the leather in by the end of January. So at the very least, we'll have been using our brand new damaged sectional for 2 months before it is repaired. I hope that my dining set arrives before then and undamaged! read more

Here is why I like to shop at Ethan Allen: The furnitue is very well made, it often is timeless, the employees are trained in how furniture is made, they know how to set up a room, how to work around problems that you might have in your home, they know how to blend different fabrics, different colors, they know how to measure, they know that diferent lifestyles call for different furniture and fabrics. They usually have done this fulltime and for many years and have expertise because of their on the job training. If this is the only retailer for furniture you vist you may not realize how special they truly are. I love furniture and I love Ethan Allen. I felt compelled to write a review after reading the other one posted. That reviewer obviously does not know know a lot about Furniture. I have bought furniture previously from Ethan Allen and it still looks great today. You get quality pieces when you purchase from a reputable furniture dealer like Ethan Allen. The decision making process is usually determined by what the buyer wants, needs, the amount they are willing to spend, their lifestyle and how well informed they are. Furniture is great. Design help is priceless. Our design consultant, Laureen, has made three trips to our house as we've built out our space over the past year. She has thoughtful, practical, and beautiful recommendations. She doesn't try to sell you a solution if she doesn't have the right piece in the store. She even went out of her way to help me with some years old Ethan Allen pieces purchased in another state. Used to be much better...but has gone downhill in the past few years. Showroom is almost empty compared to a few years ago, and the quality of the "designers" working there has diminished considerably. Their customer service is lacking from some people working there. Quality is fairly good, but for the price, Ethan Allen used to be a destination shopping experience. No longer true, at least at this location. read more

I have to admit, the first thing I noticed walking into Ethan Allen was a very weird smell. I still don't know what it was (if that's their "new furniture" smell, I don't want it!) but I'd gotten over it within a few minutes of walking around. We weren't planning on talking to anyone - just browsing - but once we were approached, my big mouth and the words "furnishing a house" had us locked and loaded in conversation with Sharon. Sharon was excellent. She was not pushy. She listened to what we were interested in and noted how tall my husband was and that he'd need a deeper sofa. She showed us a variety of styles on the floor and then we sat down and went over material and design. We wound up staying at Ethan Allen for almost an hour, maybe more. Some of the pieces we liked were ridiculously expensive, but others weren't. It's very likely that we'll go back, and we've already planned on purchasing a bedroom set and most likely a sectional from there. I'm looking forward to when the store moves nearer to Park Meadows. They'll have a much larger showroom, and will be in a better location over all. read more
