For a Chinese restaurant along the Portuguese Riviera, you would demand to see diluted, dried, or oversalted foods. Here, they do not fall underneath that category. When I first saw this in the brochures at the Portela Airport, I thought it was an in fashion statement no kidding. Quite a few things here actually do appeal to my long train of thought figuratively speaking. The casino is owned partially by a Macanese casino magnate, that explains the genius cooking here. It could be considered one of if not the most sit down restaurant in all of Portugal. This excludes the true Chinese restaurants located in residential homes secluded away from the Baixa Pombalina district. I think if the Marques Do Pombal was around here, he would have been more absolute with his approach than anyone else on the block. I had some of the roasted duck dishes which were very tender, crispy, flavorful, and scrumptious. Wrapped around in the sweet bread bun with cilantro or green onions for lavish looking garnishes on the side. Dipping it in the plum sauce is a score to settle with the rest of your favorite basketball team. Admittedly, they are smaller than what you would normally observe at restaurants in America though that is certain. Then, the stir fry noodle dishes with the steamed fish are a must try. They are cooked slowly and then carefully laid out in the appropriate ingredients before being serviced to the customer. They had a very chewy consistency to them without the softness usually accompanied after 20 minutes of being simmered in boiling, hot water. If that were the case, they would have crafted the perfect Naeng Myun dish which I have not eaten in quite a long time. A lot of what you see is wild caught with no preservatives, something I know a lot of people detest with a fiery passion. For the fill, the prices are sky high, what do you expect? Cascais is already one of the most expensive regions in the Iberian Peninsula. This is the biggest casino probably in all of Europe I assume. Waitstaff were competent, accommodating, fair, and impartial. I had forgotten my water bottle, but the nice young guy was really understanding enough to give me a refill on my soda as he gave it back to me. It was a really hot and humid day and I wanted to cool off more before stepping outside again. Everyone in Portugal is very down to earth and near the ocean literally, you will seldom hear about bad service anywhere if any. If gambling is not your forte, pipe down and try this place out. Sit on the patio if you would like underneath the bejewelled sky, watching the undertow come in, shining the glass of a healthy drink in the sunlight, waiting for the moon to come out. read more
