The food and service here is impeccable. The decor is nice as well. It's perfect for both small and large groups. We ordered shrimp, sweet duck, pork in black bean sauce, wontons, kung pao soup and fried rice. All of the dishes were delicious! read more

We went here, as it was very busy during the day. When we arrived, host was great. Waitress was nice, but language barrier. I didn't think it would be hard to order a vodka martini. Isn't that pretty universal? Menu was a bit confusing. Food was good, but not anything amazing. Although the pork special was VERY good. Setting was great, right on the beach strip. read more

Not catered strictly to Chinese taste, chicken, beef and shrimp meat are coarse, lacking tenderness and freshness. We are from San Francisco, so we are hard to please and finicky since San Francisco got some of the best diverse cuisines in the world. read more

Visited The Old House for dinner while on travel to Lisbon for work in early November 2021. Very impressed with this Chinese restaurant. Everything from the decor to the food was well done. My group of 6 ate outside. We started and ended with only appetizers... and wine. After sharing selections of different appetizers all agreed they were excellent and filling enough that we ended up just ordering more and no main courses. All told we sampled about 5 different apps. If the opportunity would have arisen, I would most certainly have revisited this restaurant again for main courses. One thing I was most impressed with was the menu, literally a multi-page picture book. They have one of the largest menus I've ever seen in any restaurant. Every Chinese menu item selection one could imagine is available here. It is certainly pricey but I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

This place is way overpriced. Yes it is positioned to be a high end Chinese restaurant but 43 euros for a regular fish dish? That's ridiculous!! Most meat entrees are in high 20s, which is also quite pricey. It is very clean and has a great view if you're dining in the outside area. But even the food and the view combined is not worth the price tag. read more

Great for a family sunday lunch. The menu has so many items, it's hard to choose. Vegetarian friendly and the prices are decent. Not as cheap as most chinese restaurants, consider 30€ per head depending on what you drink. However the quality is Tops! read more

Foods are just okay... overpriced.... seems like there are lots of selection in menu, but shouldn't be expect too much, let's not compare it to the authentic ones in China...I ordered the exact same dish in the US, the price is half of it and tastes way better... the eggs are watery and tasteless, the soup definitely added some MSG on it. I could have better experience in some other restaurants in Portugal. Not accepting credit card, better prepare some cash read more

I've eaten here now 5-6 times. The second last time I was there the food was perfection! Service was excellent too. Sometimes they hit out of the park...and sometimes it's OK. A little pricey if you eat it Asian style...meaning ordering a LOT of plates. Conversely, I've never had a bad experience and if you say something they will correct it, quickly. Note: I am always thirsty afterwards...damn thirsty, fyi. Salt, MSG? read more

Excellent chinese food. Very close to the real thing. Among the best I had in Europe. Excessively clean. Only downside is service which is very slow - they have enough waiters, they are simply badly organized. read more

I would recommend splitting a main with two people. We had spring rolls, which are large "envelopes" of cabbage instead of the usual small roll. You could easily share one with someone else. We also had the shrimp dumplings, which take 15 minutes to steam, so order them as soon as you sit down if you want them as a quick appetizer. After the starters, one entree was plenty and the sizzling chicken was very good. We saw another table that ordered the noodles and it came out on a platter that could probably serve 3-4, so keep that in mind when ordering.

After eating I found two more buffets - on the same block! This one was fine though - only reason I didn't give it more stars was 'cause there are many even better ones on the Iberian peninsula. At any rate, it's better than the Chinese buffets in North America. An assortment of raw chicken, beef, pork, squid, fish, octopus, and vegetables are out there waiting to be put on a plate and cooked on the chef's grill. While you wait for this to be done, there's a good variety of pre-cooked dishes to eat. So eat all you want, and it's only 7.50 euros for lunch, and 7.95 euros for dinner. Its open every day, noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m.
