I have had a terrible experience with Esteemed Movers, but I can tell from other negative reviews that posting about it will only get me attacked by the owners. My attempts to speak with them about it have not been successful. So I offer only this: according to the US DOT website, they are currently operating without insurance and are not authorized for the out-of-state move they took my deposit for. You can verify this by going to the USDOT website and entering the USDOT number listed on the bottom of Esteemed Movers website. (I've attached the screenshots from 3/29/22.) My guess is that while they are great movers, someone in the office is overwhelmed and not taking care of the business side of things. (And yes, Sharon, you are correct. You don't have a Dee M. on your books because I use a nickname here on Yelp and I booked in my legal name.) read more

WARING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My Family moved from San Diego California to Madison Wisconsin in October. Kevin the owner decided to take a route through Colorado on his way to Us. When he arrived at our storage unit He told my wife that "this was the worst move I've ever made". Upon unpacking our items we found multiple broken things, not a big deal. After contacting Esteemed (or lack there of) movers to start a moving claim they began to ignore us. Like I said we moved in October, it is currently the end of June and I am still waiting to hear from them after multiple attempts to contact them to be reimbursed. Other issues: They showed up to start packing at 9am and didn't finish until 2am. Boxes where mislabled/not labeled at all. They had to pack items in the morning because they where thrown in a pile in our garage. Our toilet plunger was packed in my weber grill with our egg container. read more

This stood out to me because as she mentioned, every move is different and may have more to consider than what most companies send in general quotes. On the call, all of my questions were answered, we requested materials, got an estimate and were pretty much good to go. We ended up paying what we expected and had no surprises. I wish I could give this company 100000 stars!!! My good friend went into labor early and also had to move. Esteemed movers moved up the moving date last minute to accommodate our friends. These people are crooks. Absolute crooks. Awful customer service, they arrived late, they came overcharging me PLUS adding a hidden (cash) fees, and then got mad when I told them I have a Groupon for 3 hours. (Which is why I didnt mind the wild ass quote baby gave me.) Not worth $700 for three hours. Not even worth 7 cents. Edit: they have responded and deleted their response multiple times. Lying. All because they try to charge OVER their regular rate and then get angry when you mention you have a Groupon at the end. If the work hadnt been done, they'd have likely screwed me out of it. First time using movers. We're probably going to have to use movers again and I'm definitely going to reach out to Esteemed movers. I found them through Groupon and called them to get more info. I spoke with a very nice woman named Sharon. I ended booking with them over Three Men and a Truck because Three Men had ridiculous rates. They wanted to charge more because we were moving around the corner (how that warrants an additional charge is beyond me) and also wanted to start the clock as soon as they left their warehouse up north (about an extra hour to get to my place). Esteemed gave me clear and extremely reasonable charges and didn't start the clock until they got to my place. The guys that helped, Paul and Asah (hopefully I spelled your name right if you're reading this Asah!), were extremely professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. I even told them not to worry if they ding something here and there but they still insisted on being very careful. They got the job done quickly and efficiently. All in all I'm happy with my experience with them. I highly recommend using them if any of you guys and gals reading this need movers. read more

Esteemed movers had high star reviews and came highly recommended. Unfortunately, my experience was not in line with these recommendations. This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. I booked 3 people for my move and confirmed multiple times (including two days prior to move) that I had a small, upright piano to be moved. On the day of the move, only two movers showed up. They said they were short because one guy called out sick. Later on, they slipped up and admitted they'd gotten a bigger job, so sent the guy there instead. The two movers that showed up were clearly untrained. They didn't lift a single thing and instead moved it all with handcarts/dollies - down a flight of stairs and then up 1-3 flights of stairs. Because of using handcarts, they damaged multiple items (see pictures - bookshelf, hutch, chipped paint/drywall, dents in walls, etc.) as the carts banged against each stair not only damaging carpet and stairs, but the items on the handcarts. I've never had a moving company use handcarts for anything other than major appliances. They also would disappear for 20+ minutes at a time, took almost two hours for lunch and charged me for the whole time. Worst of all, they tried to tell me they couldn't move the piano because they didn't have enough people. After getting it down to the truck, they asked me to arrange for someone to help at my new place. When they unloaded the piano at my new place, I walked outside to find it standing on its side in the wet grass. They then proceeded to tell me that they would need 4-5 people to bring it in and would leave it there until the company could arrange for more people to come another day. I told them this was unacceptable and they said they would wheel it to the garage and hopefully move it by Sunday (4 days later)! I explained that a piano cannot be on its side like that and this is not what I booked. Eventually, my father (senior citizen aged) offered to help as that is what they originally requested. They kept the piano on its side and pulled the handcart up the stairs, banging each step along the way. When they put the piano in place, they noticed they'd damaged it and acknowledged they'd caused the damage. Later on, when it came time to pay the bill, they offered to waive the "piano moving" fee because of the damage. I requested to speak to the office because of the additional damage, fewer number of people and extended breaks, etc. The office didn't answer my calls (and have not returned them) and would only speak to the movers putting them in the middle of it. It was obvious the movers were not trained and needed some sort of supervision. I am extremely disappointed in this company and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I shouldn't have to pay because you overbooked your team and clearly sent untrained people to my move. The piano has been moved multiple times up and down flights of stairs by two people and they've always carried it and never used a handcart. I had this exact furniture moved (and more) a few years ago and it took two people less than 4 hours - similar flights of stairs, etc. and it took these two 9.5 hours because of using the handcarts for everything and taking so many breaks. They stayed super professional and had really good attitudes. Asa has a design skill of knowing how best to layout the furniture. I came across Esteemed when the movers I'd hired weren't able to get my couch and dining table up the stairs in my new place, it was a tricky stairwell and a very large couch. I called Sharon who told me it wouldn't be a problem at all, but I was still a little nervous. I was referred to Esteemed Movers from a neighbor since I'm recovering from shoulder surgery. Great prices and friendly customer service when setting everything up. The movers had a flat tire on the way but I didn't mind the delay since they called me and let me know. Communication is key in my opinion. Once they showed up they went straight to work. They were fast, careful, and accommodating to how we wanted certain things. When finished they asked if I needed anything moved and if everything was where I wanted it. Found this company on Groupon and spoke to Sharron to schedule our move approximately 2 miles one way in La Jolla. The movers (both smelled of cigarettes and were very unclean) showed up on time and were quick about the move since we had most of the house packed and ready to go except the large bedroom set. They packed the one bedroom into the truck fairly quick and took us to our new two bedroom home. The movers unloaded fairly quickly and we inspected everything as they were putting it into the rooms. When they unpacked the Temperpedic (we paid extra money for a moving mattress protector) we noticed fresh blood on the mattress. My partner called Sharron immediately, both of the movers denied having any fresh cuts and said they were not responsible. One of the movers went to the truck and grabbed a mixture of bleach and simple green and sprayed it on the mattress and protector. This is a $5000+ mattress that specifically says do not use bleach. So I had to get some peroxide and water and clean up what they had done. Sharron, kept denying that the movers were responsible for any damage. Was absolutely livid that they would use bleach on anything...since it ruined my clothes that I was wearing. Sharron agreed to pay for the mattress cover and offered to have the cover cleaned but we never heard back from her after we washed the covers several times with oxyclean and soap. Really poor customer service. Would not recommend. read more

I connected with Esteemed movers and they had someone to my house an hour after our first contact. The guys that came were super cool and hard-working.
