I was excited to learn that one of the benefits of working at my company included an invitation to shop at the Estee Lauder Company store. There are some discontinued Prescriptives products that I was interested in hunting down, and I had a feeling there would be nice gift sets here too. The first time I came here I was unimpressed--there wasn't that much product, and the color selection wasn't great. After a hiatus of more than one year, I returned to see what else had come through the pipelines now that Prescriptives is out of business entirely. This time, there was much more in stock, and I found some great Prescptives eyeliner as well as the limited collaboration, Liberty of London for Mac eyeshadows (though sadly not in the nicest color). The store also carried Bumble and Bumble products at a major discount. Although I was pleased with the beauty booty I scored, I found the salespeople to be decidedly unfriendly and unhelpful. Although I was the only customer in a store with two salespeople, neither greeted me, and I felt like I was asking too much when I needed them to get the products I wanted to purchase out of the back (that's the way it works--they only have testers out, and the new packages are in a storage closet). Perhaps they don't work on commission like their counterparts at the department store cosmetics counters, but a professional attitude would be nice. read more
