My first couple of transactions went very smooth. However, I have encountered what I believe to be bad, business practice. Firstly, let me say that I come from a retail background. I called Estarland and spoke to a receptionist who assisted me with the question, "How do I proceed with a cash out of my account." She informed me that I could go on the website, complete the forms and wait 4-6 weeks for the check to be sent, or that I could come into the store and handle it there. Great, I informed her that I would take care of it in store to avoid the 4-6 week wait. She then proceeded to tell me that in order to complete that transaction, a manager needs to be present. Wonderful, that I understand the next obvious question was "When is a good time to meet the manager for that transaction?" I was put on hold, for a bit. I was then informed that the manager does not have a set schedule, and is apparently hardly ever there. She also let me know that she (and the other employees) didn't know the manager schedule. I asked if there was more than one manager (and trust, they get overly busy in the store often) and I was told no. So let's recap, I can wait 4-6 weeks or try my luck and pray the manager is in. I have never, ever heard of any store, that does any type of business that requires a managers approval and does not guarantee that a manager be on staff. It just doesn't make any sense to me. It's like going into a store and being asked to come back later because they are not equipped to perform a specific SERVICE that they offer on a regular basis. After basically recapping all of this information to the woman giving it to me, she apologized and prompted me to call back later to see if he was more aware of when he was going to be available at his manager job. LOL So I did! I called today and was told by the woman (who was getting information straight from the managers mouth) that he didn't know if he was going to be in Friday (that's tomorrow for God's sake!) or any other day for that matter. He told me (thru the receptionist) to basically try my luck and to call first ( Isn't that what I just did...twice!) Feeling discouraged, I will try to leave my job early today, if not I will try my luck tomorrow. I feel as if the (a) manager of any retail store should be available all weekends and in the store during the most busy hours (that includes the week). So many times I have come in and received no service, if not bad service. It is important to set the tone for the day and your employees so letters like this don't happen (that goes for on-line orders as well, I've seen some scathing reviews.) I also feel that the manager should be present to cover the morning and evening shifts to assure that all transactions can be completed. If you need more managers to do so, start with promoting the poor woman helping me on the phone. I'm sorry if I was curt, just very confused at the policy, and the unwillingness by the manager to solve the problem of a loyal customer (never cashed out before, in two years!). Thank you for your time. You may contact me with any questions or concerns via FB. read more
