I can assure you that each and every person has been super helpful. When I was growing out my hair they explained the best ways to do that and made sure the trims were minimal. I didn't get the name of the the manicurist, she never told me her name. She was nice enough and my nails look pretty good but the whole experience was not enjoyable. The work station was not clean, it was gritty and hadn't been wiped between clients. They appear to use sterilized metal tools that are wrapped in a plastic autoclave package but then they use a grubby old nail file that's been used on dozens of clients. She used a little soft nail brush, used on many other clients, to wipe my nails after she clipped the cuticles and she was pretty rough doing that. Then she used a brush to apply oil on the cuticles, again used by many clients. And that was it. There was no hot towel, no cream applied with a nice hand massage. Nothing. I asked her if she was going to do a hand massage and she put some hand lotion on my hands and gave me the most tepid massage with no pressure that lasted about 10 seconds per hand. It was ridiculous. Other places I have had manicures have ALWAYS included a nice hand/arm massage, a hot towel, etc. This place is nothing but a conveyor belt, run them through as fast as possible kind of place. I won't be returning.

I spoke to someone who patiently explained the services and who understood my desire to have a 'fun spa experience' for my aunties. Cleanliness for health and wellness are important elements of the Esthetica Spa experience; so I was pleased to learn that they offered a medical manicure / pedicure for my aunties. I also appreciated the underground parking with an elevator which is great for winter weather and anyone with difficulty climbing stairs. This is a beautiful spa with baroque features and uniquely designed rooms for each of the services being provided. Ask for the tour ! When we arrived, the staff were very warm and welcoming, thank you :) Although they were busy; our session moved at a comfortable pace, and I was grateful that my aunties did not feel rushed. We had our own private space with comfortable massage chairs and 3 technicians catering to each of us, which included scrumptious cookies and specialty coffees. It was so glorious! I had highlights/lowlights done last summer which darkened the overall look of my hair and I decided I liked being lighter. He did tell me at the start of the appointment that it would take two visits to get me as light as I want, but he could've done a lot more for me in one appointment. He put a "full head" of foils on my roots, but did not put any highlight in the body of my hair. He also over-toned it to a very boring and blah shade of beige. During the visit he asked if I could help put his foils together which is not really a huge deal, but if I'm paying close to 200$ for my hair I would like to feel pampered not doing work. He also got one of his students to wash my colour out, and she was quite awful at it as half of my foundation on my face was gone afterwards. I seen no change in my hair after the appointment, was a complete waste.
