My boyfriend bought me a Yelp coupon to Esscencial Studio last year for $50 worth of $75 of professional skincare treatments. The coupon promotion expires in one year, and that one year was almost up, so I decided to book an appointment last week. I don't know why it took me so long to finally book an appointment, but after yesterday's visit, I wish I could have gone sooner! Let me tell you that the esthetician, Carol, knew what she was doing! She was very knowledgeable, professional, down-to-earth and all around helpful especially for my first treatment of getting a micro peel. She scared my jitters away. She made sure that I was always comfortable by asking me to rate 1-10 how a certain product feels on me. Not only that, but her hands were so gentle and soft when she massaged my face. I was also so impressed by the spa room - very soothing and the nature music in the background made it even more pleasant. I have gotten a microdermabrasion treatment several months ago and was a bit displeased with my experience (elsewhere). I actually found a Groupon deal to a spa facility in Marina Del Rey (a long ways trip from home). It took me several months to book an appointment there because they were always booked (or closed four days a week!!!). It was really inconvenient for me, especially when I was juggling school and work at that time. Fast-forward a few weeks later, my boyfriend found me a Yelp deal to Essencial Studio. I looked up where it was located and it was actually less than 1 mile from home! The best part was booking everything online (prices included) with several openings. The moment I arrived, a kind receptionist greeted me. I really adore the atmosphere and the great customer service I received yesterday and I will keep returning back for more. Noël was amazing and this spa was so cute! Such great energy and she's super sweet and professional! This spa itself is a diamond in the rough. It's located next to The Pan restaurant in a plaza that's not very appealing but you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's impeccably clean, smells great and they have some really cute products to check out in the waiting area WITH testers available. The staff is welcoming and the room where Noël did my facial was spacious, very clean and decorated very cute. The facial I had done was the Groupon deal that included a mild glycolic peel, microdermabrasion and oxygen. I have gotten both a hydrating facial here and a silk peel. The hydrating facial was fantastic and really inexpensive for all that was done so I decided to try a silk peel because I wasn't quite ready for a chemical peel. As it was being done by my aesthetist (Taran) I wasn't quite sure if it was actually going to accomplish anything...There was this little sucking thing and then LED lights. At the very least it was relaxing. Well, i have had friends actully tell me that i look "great" and ask "why do you look different"? My 20 yr. old son actually said he thought my skin looked younger and my husband says it's super soft!! I totally recommend the service and will definitely be doing it again myself. read more

I had a waxing done on my face by Kathy and she was wonderful. Very gentle and cautious explaining everything she was applying to my skin during the process. I will definitely be back for my facial. The girl at the front desk which I didn't get her name was extremely pleasant and nice. I didn't make an appointment but they didn't mind still letting me walk in and be seen the same day. I really liked how Kathy took care of my face. I usually avoid waxing my face because I have sensitive skin and the hard wax makes my skin become irritated with red bumps. But Kathy used cream wax which was much better and not sticky or greasy feel. Very good job. I'm very satisfied and will be back. read more

I had a Brazilian wax before heading to Brazil :D, it's true! I've had this kind of wax many times, ranging from HORRIBLE to tolerable. This was one of the best waxes I've had.
