Tuna on toasted wheat - pretty ok.
    Missy S.

My friends and I wanted to eat lunch in between sessions at a conference but we didn't have a lot of time. Someone suggested the sandwich place that was attached to the convention center and I thought it would be awful. But the food was decent. The soup was homemade and very tasty, and though the prices were a bit high, I was thankful for the proximity and convenience.

Best breakfast I had in Atlantic City! This is a no-frills, walk-up kiosk located in the train station just across the street from the Sheraton where I was staying. But poor reviews of my hotel's restaurants led me to venture out. Esquires filled the gap! I ordered a small coffee and a breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, pork roll (a Jersey thing), and provolone cheese in a whole wheat tortilla to go. The clerk asked if I'd like it with grilled peppers and onions, which was a great suggestion. As I waited for the burrito, I made my coffee the way I like it and chatted with a station security guard. The coffee station and dining tables could use a little attention, as empty sugar packets were strewn about and the tables had overused plastic tablecloths with tears. The consensus: my burrito was excellent and generously filled. I cut it in half and steam billowed out! You won't find a tastier, casual, fresher breakfast at an affordable price nearby.

    A hidden GEM!

This is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the waiting area of the NJ Transit AC station, this place had been a lifesaver when attending anything at the AC convention center. From wraps to sandwiches to burgers to fries. Everything and I mean everything we have had for the 4 days we have been attending the event has been great. Do yourself a favor. When in the area go eat there.

    Bacon, egg, and cheese kaiser.

I was looking for a quick snack to tide me over for the hour and half train ride from Atlantic City to Philadelphia. I was going to stop at the Starbucks in Harrahs but the line was insanely long so I nixed that idea. I took the taxi over to the NJ Transit and found this place. They're the only place for food at the NJ. The folks working the counter were friendly. Most importantly there was no line like at the Starbucks. It did pick it with customers once more folks rolled in to catch the AC to Philly train. I decided on a bacon, egg, and cheese kaiser. I wasn't a fan of the Kraft-like cheese slice and I admit the eggs didn't look real but in a pinch it did tide me over for the train ride.

If you're stuck at the train station or looking for a quick bite around the convention center, this place is a good spot. The woman at the counter and that made our bagels was super friendly. They have bagels, sandwiches, salads, coffee, and of course, newspapers. There's plenty of snacks and drinks, too. We got Everything Bagels toasted with cream cheese. They were really fresh and delicious! Great for quick bites!

Pork roll egg and cheese! So good!

Great spot! Great breakfast at a more than affordable price. Located at convention center, but in the train station area. Worth the wait, when there is a line.

It was super busy. Host was great at getting everyone seated. Very well oiled machine. Didn't wait long even with the crowd. Okay - let's chat about service. Not sure who trained this staff but they need to create their own course in customer service. Every single person who worked there, regardless of their actual position was helping all customers. Seriously... never waited for anything and constantly asked if we needed anything. Such a treat! You can tell that they pour their hearts into this! Just a lovely experience. Now, the food! Welp, this is it. The pancakes are wonderful and thin. You can get them stuffed with various things. Just the perfect crunch and taste. No battery thick middle! Get these! Also got eggs, fried bologna (highly recommend), scrapple, and delicious Turkey sausage. There wasn't one thing that wasn't good. No notes. The coffee is superior as well. Even asked for a cup to go. Just delicious. This place is a whole package. Go out of your way to get here!! You will NOT be disappointed!!! The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality and quantity. I seen some reviews complaining about pricing but if you are staying at your hotel for breakfast then you are overpaying. I think the prices are fair. I have not had any issues with service and the employees are always friendly. Sometimes there are longer wait times because it is a popular place. I don't mind. This is a small place but don't let that fool you. It is take out. I'm from Philly so I know some of the most unexpected small places have the best food. I don't need to be impressed with looks. The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.
