I am torn about this place. They quickly and in expensively troubleshot a problem with a transmission control unit ( I took it to two other places and they were the only ones to figure it out). With confidence built I took the old honda to them with a major engine issue. They told me that I didn't have compression in cylinder 1 and I might as well start shopping for a new car. After some prodding they opened the head and saw it was a few burned valves and clogged EGR ports. They finally agreed to replace the head at a cost much less than a new car. When I got home from picking the car up I found coolant leaking. Further investigation showed that the brass top tube of the radiator was beat out of round. I also found broken bolts that I didn't remember being there before. I went ahead and fixed these myself. I won't be going back. read more

I have been using Especially Auto for years now. They do EXCELLENT work at a VERY FAIR and REASONABLE price. We are trying to keep our 2003 Honda Civic running as long as possible and I am so glad we have them because my husband and I know nothing about cars. I TRUST this place to do any and every kind of work on my car. Our car smelled like gas for several weeks and I had them look at it. They told me right away there was a crack in the fuel pump and how much that it would be to replace it. Also, that it was dangerous to drive - I had been driving myself and child around in it for weeks which was really stupid. I should have brought it in when I first smelled the gas. Their quotes for parts like a replacement fuel pump will, in my experience, INCLUDE the labor to fix it, too. They DO NOT add a bunch of charges for unneeded stuff. They are honest and really do great work. Period. I totally disagree with the person who said the front desk lady is condescending. If you don't come with an attitude and being mean/rude she won't have to tell her boss about you! She should not have to deal with that. Yes, appointments are needed so they can work you in and she will tell you about how long it will take to get a quote then perform the repair. That Steve guy has THE Nastiest NASTIEST attitude I have ever encountered. I gave him my keys and I forgot my purse in the car. I'm from Atlanta and was traveling thru Greenville on a business trip when my Accord left me stranded off the interstate. My son bought a Honda Accord from a friend of mine, who bought it new in 1999. Especially Auto Service had always performed routine service and required maintenance on it. The AC stopped working, just blew hot air. I decided I would take it somewhere else. Big mistake. The place I took it to, kept it for 4 days, ran numerous diagnostic test to no avail. Actually told me the AC was kaput. 900$ repair. Something just didn't feel right. I decided to call Especially Honda. I am so glad I did It was the Air Mix Motor. Repairs for that were about 300$. We are a Honda family, needless to say we will never trust anyone else with our cars. ( we have 5 Hondas ). We live in Simpsonville but will make the trek to the West End, no matter. Also, the folks at Especially Honda were professional and courteous. Especially the lady at the front desk. She is the consummate pro. Highly recommend. Best of the best! read more

Used EH for several years but recently had a major problem with them. Went in for a minor repair to my power steering system (O Ring). Their repair caused slow leak in the system. Took back and they charged me to fix the leak, but it created a constant loud noise. They suggested that I just ignore it. If I wanted the noise to stop, I would have to replace the entire power steering pump. I took to another shop. The O ring that EH used was the wrong part. Simple fix and the loud noise was gone. I will never go back to Especially Honda (Auto). read more

My Honda Accord had a recall and a local dealer fixed it. When I picked it up they said I had three oil leaks, and it would cost $1,525.00 to fix them. I took it to Especially Honda and the owner said they would fix the most obvious leak, clean it up, and check it again after I drove for two weeks. Nothing else was needed.
