And while I was there I thought it'd be a good idea to get a tune-up as well. They call me up the next day and said the check engine light was on because of some sensor that monitored the valves (or something) was bad, but the valves were working fine and it was just the sensor itself. They said they could easily replace it for and additional $250, but at the end of the day it wouldn't do anything but turn a light off. I was very impressed that they called me up to explain and ask first. Most places would simply go ahead and replace it and then charge you for it. Was not expecting this at all. Thanks guys!

The whole experience fostered a sense of trust with the windows into the shop, and even a shop tour. No work was done until it was fully explained and approved, with no high-pressure sales. For the money, I highly recommend HALTS if you own one of the vehicles for which they specialize. The peace of mind is worth it knowing that the job was done right.

She isn't used to having to look for a car in the driveway and the cousin was visiting from out of town. We took the car to Smith Davidson and they spent 30 minutes repairing it and wouldn't charge us since there were no parts. They were able to get it back in place and working without it costing us a dime. I have been back many times for tires and other repairs. Cole and the gang are good local people who are fair and reasonable. One time I showed Cole that I could get tires cheaper from Tire Rack and he showed me how he got his price and what he needed to pay his people and asked me if the $20 difference (total) was worth it to me - and if it was, then I could get them on Tire Rack and he would still mount them for me. I ended up spending the extra $20 to support a good, honest local shop. In another instance, I have a Corvette with ENORMOUS racing tires that are VERY HARD TO MOUNT. I had taken them to several shops to get them mounted with no luck. Cole and the staff at Smith Davidson treated it like a challenge and worked very hard to get those tires on my car. I would recommend them because of the following... 1. They are honest. PERIOD. 2. They do good work. 3. They are fair. I would recommend Cole and the people at Smith Davidson Tire with no reservations. I believe that they will make me look good with my recommendation because I believe they try to do a great job with every customer and vehicle that comes into their shop. They are good people.
