Edgar was out sick for three weeks; which is TOTALLY understandable; however during the three weeks that I've been trying to contact him, I didn't receive a response from him until the 3rd week in which he then informed me of his situation. Again, I totally sympathized with him. He said he would come over the next day (which is did), but did half of a job, took my payment, & left NO explanation as to why the lawn (including a hill) was left half done. A week later today (05/31/17); he texts me & said that he didn't have time to get the rest of the lawn & wanted to charge me $40 more for service!!! UNACCEPTABLE! I've gotten comfortable with him, then after awhile his service went tremendously down hill & wants to charge me more for service that he lacked on!?!?!?! WARNING...DO NOT USE THIS MAN, he takes advantage of your kindness!

I am able to text Brendan and he is responsive and addresses the requested maintenance areas. I wish there was a bit more initiative when it came to weed pulling. I have had to ask a couple times to remind them to make sure to pull weeds in the planters by our pool or straighten a tree that has been pushed over due to wind. That is what I am expecting when it comes to maintenance - keep our yard looking nice. I will reach out to them about re-doing our sprinkler system eventually (we installed it - we need their help to fix it lol)... But overall they do a great job!

Based on the recommendation of a trusted friend, I recently contacted Brendon for an artificial turf replacement job at my home. He sent a person named Ruben to provide me with an estimate. I understood that Ruben works for Brendon. In every communication, when Brendon made any comments about Ruben, it was in the context of them working together (e.g., a text in which Brendon confirmed that Ruben had provided me with "our best price"). Ruben completed the job and it looks bad. There are multiple seams visible and it looks as though he did the job using a patchwork of odds-and-ends instead of rolls. My original artifical turf in the same area looked great after installation, with no seams obvious/visible. I initially worked with Ruben to address this, but decided that I needed to communicate directly with Brendon, because this was his job. Brendon informed me that Ruben does not work for him; that he (Brendon) was too busy to handle my job, and so handed it off to Ruben; and that therefore this is all between Ruben and me. I was shocked (and I still am) at his cavalier attitude about a job I paids thousands of dollars for. I went with Brendon on this job without bothering to gather quotes because my friend assured me that I could trust Brendon and his work. My friend is also shocked by how this has been handled. If Brendon had just been open and honest with me about being too busy, and about Ruben not being his employee, then I would have gathered quotes and checked references on other turf installers. I am continuing to work with Ruben to try and get my yard right. But I will never again do any business with Brandon or his business(es). I do not trust him to be open and honest.

I hate to leave a negative review towards someone like Lopez. He really seems like a nice guy…read more However, we hired him for a 2 day job that (after 3 weeks) still isn't complete. The job was simple consisting mainly of adding mulch (weed barrier), re-positioning a pre-installed drip system, and planting. I don't know if it was inexperience or a lack of professionalism but this was one of the worse landscaping jobs I've ever seen. Expensive plants were broken and shoved into the ground. The drip system now saturated areas w/ no plants. Water now ran down my pathway onto the sidewalk (not in my yard where it should be) saturating our pathway to the house. The black mulch (assuming it was new) was dumped in my driveway leaving marks that I now have to pressure wash. This is how they left it! I came home to this with no explanation and no follow-up. We made the mistake of paying Lopez before inspecting the job (an understood no no). He seemed like such a nice guy that we assumed his services were equally as good. After complaining to Lopez, to his credit, he did return to "fix" some of the problems. However, this proved to be a waste of time as he literally dropped off a man who did not address any of the issues and eventually left. Im sharing my experience because money is hard to come. Paying for landscaping was a big deal for my family, financially, and not to be taken lightly. I hope that Lopez develops a better level of professionalism so that the next family who hires him will get his best instead of the type of service we received. Until then, I can not endorse Lopez Landscaping.

Greg did a rough sketch, added suggestions, and we went from there. All prior grass and planting material were removed by them as agreed upon prior to the work beginning. They had a clean slate to work with. Upon clearing an area with plants Greg and Jimmy came upon two alligator lizards that they moved to the back yard. Hopefully, they will find their way back to the front yard after the work is completed. They really did create a beautiful outdoors landscape bringing feelings of the Sierra Mountains and Joshua Tree to the landscape. An example of how a low maintenance and drought tolerant landscape can be lush and exciting. During the process, both Greg and Jimmy paid meticulous attention to detail with the placement of the brick walkway, brick lined pathway, placement of boulders, rocks for the dry creek bed, and plants. Happy that I opted to add the outdoor lighting. The lighting adds to the magic of the landscape. Needless to say, the landscape went beyond my wildest expectation and works well with a historical Tudor style home. It is gorgeous. Thank you so much Earth Tones Landscaping for an amazing landscape and all of your hard work and effort to make it happen. My neighbors and I love it and look forward to watching the garden as it grows, and the landscape matures.
