This place is literally off of the beaten path. You have to know your way around the area in order to come across it. It is along an avenue that locals in Hialeah use for a shortcut to beat traffic. It was important for me to mention this business because I took a detour one early morning and decided to try out their café con leche and pastries. I was really dragging that particular morning and I ordered a large cafe con leche, dark, with extra sugar. I also ordered some ham croquetas, beef empanadas and colada to share with my friends.
The beef empanada had to be made in-house because it was so moist, had whole green olives and diced onions and was delicious!!!! Their ham croquet was nice and crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. My friends at work said that the colada was 'bout it!
But OMG the highlight of my first visit there was the cafe con leche!!!!! When I tell you that I went from the night of the living dead to living la vida loca in like 9.5 seconds, I'm not lying! Their Cuban coffee is the BIZNESS!!!!! Did you hear me? I said, the BIZZZZZZZZZZZ NESSSSSSSSSSSS. High 5 if you feel me on that.
Today I had to stop by on a Saturday on my way home from running errands because my high energy toddler is on 100.1. When I placed the order, the man next to me was like you have to be careful with that coffee! I said, "Sir, I know. I have a wide-awake high energy toddler that I have to stay awake for. Oh, and I know about their coffee!" Trust. So if you are ever near the warehouse area in Hialeah, give them a try especially if you need to wake up early in the morning. Their coffee is more than willing to help you get some wake-up in your life! read more
